Aided by a mysterious being named Infinite, Doctor Eggman has managed to conquer most of the world, employing an army of villains under his command, including Shadow the Hedgehog, Metal Sonic, Chaos, and Zavok. To combat Eggman's forces, Knuckles the Echidna forms a resistance, recruiting his friends and gathering other rebels to their cause. How did you upload Sonic Forces full gameplay the day before it was released in stores?
19:10 This is the main reason why Sonic is loved so much. He is standing in front of the, probably, most menacing villain in the franchise's history and he is acting so casually as if it is all gonna be over in a minute.

Agustín Garcia I find him far more menacing than the other villains we have seen. He is basically the unusually dark, powerful, edgy character fans have been searching for since long ago.
Dimitris kapoios He would be menancing if he did crazy thing like trying to roast the entire planet with multiple illusion stars (proving he's more powerful than the Final Egg Blaster), or brought back all the Deadly Six as illusions and foot soldiers, made multiple illusions of Perfect Chaos, Super Shadow, Exception, Metal Overlord, etc...
Eggman did say he would return every defeat a thousand fold, so why not go insane with the threats?

Sonic may be acting like an idiot, but if you pay attention to his body movements and manner of speech in this scene, it's actually pretty different than his usual cockiness.
In this scene, Sonic seems nervous, in fact, throughout a few scenes in the beginning of the Game after he was beaten by Infinite he doesn't really seem like himself.
I have watched many cutscene movies of Sonic the Hedgehog games, and Sonic acts slightly differently in those games.
First off, he's talking faster than usual, which is something quite a few people do when they are nervous to say something or think they might get into trouble. They try to desperately say or explain as much as possible in a short amount of time and end up rushing what they are saying. Sonic is most likely making these "Jokes" to calm himself down to try and gain a sense of normality. Remember, Sonic was not only beaten by Infinite pretty badly, but he is now in a world that is almost completely controlled by Eggman, and it is mentioned that he was possibly tortured for a long time.
Not only that, but he seems fidgety, now, this has been mentioned to be a trait of his when nothing is going on, but in this moment, there is something going on. His pacing also seems a bit more restless than usual, he is taking very short and quick steps over a short distance, almost as if he is afraid of moving too far from where he is standing.
The final thing to note is that when he asks about Infinite's power, he does not look at him. His eyes move to look almost straight in front of himself, while with the previous questions he asks, he looks up to where Infinite is. This is so brief that it is almost unnoticeable while watching the cutscene unless you look for it or are looking at his eyes or body language.
In conclusion, Infinite is right, Sonic is actually scared, he just isn't admitting it. Sonic is used to feeling like he has the upper hand, but he doesn't feel that way in this case, and he is trying to make it seem like he does by trying to act like his usual self. The game itself, the graphics, and the story might not be the best, but the animations in the cutscenes are sometimes very good and subtle. Something I think should be recognized.

Thanks! It took me a little bit to notice those details, but I definitely appreciate them! I now have Sonic Forces, I find it simple and fun, but it's definitely not for those who really want a challenge throughout the entire game.(Unless you're playing Classic Sonic. Good Lord I strongly dislike his gameplay.)

I see. I wish they became an essential plot point in this story as a sign of desperation by the Resistance. Considerinf the fact that Eggman took over almost 90% percent of the planet, I'm going to assume that G.U.N. was defeated or they have been assimilated into the Resistance. If they have of any chance of survival-let alone victory against the Eggman Empire, they need the Chaos Emeralds to empower their defenses again
Matter of Fact, what happened exactly to G.U.N. and their fleet? They were a substantial part of the Sonic Universe in General. Having them absent in this kind of fight is surprising.

You all say these cutscenes are bad, but I think they are the best they've been since Sonic Riders. The level of detail is amazing, and the voice acting and writing is spectacular for the most part.

I like how Infinite straight up murders several people.
I know this doesn't sound like a high expectation, but this is the best story in a main series game since Unleashed. It at least managed to keep up a serious tone the whole way through, and the personalities are mostly there.(Expect for Tails, obviously)

Barely any of the characters are themselves, Infinite's a joke, there's more holes in the plot than Swiss cheese, and the OC and Classic Sonic is just shoehorned everywhere.
Neo Machine Tails could be mass producing fake Chaos Emeralds for the resistance, Knuckles could be acessing the Master Emerald's powers to boost Tails' machines capabilities, Silver could have used telekinesis on Sonic while he boosted to make him go even faster, Espio could have been stealing information from Eggman, etc...
So much could be happening...

It makes me so mad that people are calling Tails a wimp in this game, Sonic has always been there for him and supplying the “muscle”, while Tails is more skilled with being the “brains” of the two, so, when HE’s the one who is put in Sonic’s situation, he’s not gonna know what to do or how to react, at least, that’s how I see it.
