We battled the elements all weekend but our determination pulled through! Ruger (our 1 year old GSP) had her first hunt off-lead and she loved it! Tikka ( my 5 year old Wolfhound X) showing us she still has it in her after awhile off!

Such a great vid Liv! Haven’t had a hunting episode in a while and it was awesome, Defining something I’ve wanted to get more information on and get a better understanding 👍 What’s the training like to get the pups to search out for pigs? Is it something they are born to do or is it pack learning style?
Plus I think we all need tommo cam more often haha

When it comes to the training a lot of breeds of dogs where bred to hunt, so a lot of it is instinct.
But when it comes to training dogs to specifically hunt pigs is does help if the younger dogs have an older dog to learn off. I find it all so fascinating and the feeling of being able to work with your dogs towards a common goal is always so rewarding.

👍. Looks like you ladies & gents had a good run. Weather just makes it more interesting…. I find it funny to hear that phrase. People don’t like hunting. whether or not they are meat eaters or vegan. How do u think u get that steak, lamb or carrot & lettuce on your plate?….. only through hunting including dogging or trapping. Everything from insects, pest animals ie pigs, rabbits, predators ie. foxes, feral cats & dogs & rodents. Mice, rats ect. Do people think take cattle as a eg. Do they just have their own paddock to grow-in till their ready for the abattoir. Letft alone by the above till then. Arhh. No… do they think their carrot & lettuce growing in the ground are completely free to just grow till picked?…. Arhh no. They still get destroyed by insects & rodents…. How do farmers help with minimising the loss so we don’t have to pay a even higher price for those things? (Even tho the farmers should get paid a bit better from the wholesalers, but that’s another story)… Good ? Glad u asked…. Through baiting, hunting, spraying & trapping…. Common sense…. Those people need to start using it!
Yeah it’s your opinion not to like all forms of hunting, but don’t make a song & dance out of it or push it on to others! After all girls & guys like this. Ie hunters. Help keep that food on your plate…. Oh. Leave some beers for the rest of us.
