Adding more to my comment below....We retired to a small town. When everyone asked me where I got my jean bags and I said I made them they wanted one. I now sell at tiny veggie market in spring and summer and a couple Christmas fairs. The men and teen boys said you make nothing for us. So with the area being a fishing hiking town and also seeing my larger jean purses didnt sell, just my small jean cross body bags. And knowing I saw man just wearing their fishing vests around town, because of the pockets, I started making vests from flannel shirts. The same day at our tiny thrift a large amount of flannels and skull tshirts showed up. So I took sleeves off shirts, left it raggedy at arn hole. Used sleeves to make outside patch poket and hidden inside buttoned cell phone pocket. Cut around the graphics on the tshirts. Some were small sizes so women bought them too. I started buying women's flannels or even a bit heavy weight shirts not flannel added more female type graphics like artistic graphics with peace signs and florals and Shakespeare play events, more girly ones. I can do free motion....write with my machine. I may try doing that but cutting a graphic off a tshirt is easier.
I love it after bleaching! I used to square dance in my youth back iin 70s. I got so tired gathering the ruffles on the dresses we wore so I stated pinch pleating as you did. I love this era where more people are sewing and anything goes. Makes my old nerd hippie heart glad! Im 67 now but still sewing since age 5! Im a little OCD...maybe a lot. I would have split the sleeve ruffles in quarters each to make more matchy matchy on each side but after bleaching didnt seem to matter.
watched it for the 2nd time: last year and this, still great video. Very good vocal and visual directions. Thank you so much for showing how to make these awesome creations.
Love it... glad I saw it after you had bleached it. I don't know if I would if been brave enough to do that but after seeing you do it it gave me confidence to try.
Amazing! This turned out really nice. Honestly, I didn't care for the colors. After bleaching, I am simply amazed. I would have never thought of this. You look amazing in that shirt. 👍
I just found you & started watching everything you have. I rarely subscribe to UA-cam but I feel like I have found my tribe with your love for unfinished, raw, deconstructed & edgy designs. I am grateful you were brave enough to be you, follow your heart & create your Chanel. 👑👑
Great upcycling video! I'm still on the hunt for more ideas to use up a bunch of flannels that I've accumulated over the last few years. Edited to fix grammar typos. Oops.
I love the style of your tutorials. You give enough information but don't add extra things or footage that aren't really helpful. I'm a subscriber now, keep up the good work!
Oh, you did it again, T! THIS is now my new favey project! I can't believe how pastel-y and match-y it ended up with all those different flannels! I love it!!! ❤ Watching these is really making me brave! I've been collecting lace to attempt one of your projects, I just can't decide which one to start with. Do you have any suggestions for a beginner project? Thanks! Brenda 🪷
I'd say the clothing would be easier than the purses. Pick a project and go!! I have to make myself do that sometimes when I'm undecided about what to start next.💞💞💞💞
Thank you so much for showing us how to make great items . I am brand new to sewing and need to buy a new sewing machine . Could you pretty please give me a recommendation for your favorite machine that does everything?
Hi thanks for explaining steps so well. I was wondering if future washes would affect other clothes in the wash due to the previous use of bleach? Thx Norma
Love how shirt turned out. I always make sure to buy 100% cotton flannel but....i had a flannel that would not bleach that was 100% cotton. Any ideas as to why it wouldn't bleach?
@@tmyershandmade978 If I had to take a guess, I think it's possible that sometimes clothing gets mislabeled. I worked in a store once and I was told that the location was mislabeled on some shirts...
It is mislabeled I think. I bought some fabric from the fabric store that said cotton. Once I got it home I saw a video on how to check to see if it is cotton by burning some threads. It was polyester.
How do I get past the anxiety of cutting into dresses, jeans, crochet doilies, etc.? I have been collecting materials, but now I need to be doing something with them, and it stresses me out. (Even ones I've bought for this purpose!) HELP!

Omgosh that all sounds so fun and creative, I would love to sell once a year at a market.💞💞💞

I like to use Rift color remover instead of bleach because bleach weakens fabric. I do like how the flannels look bleached out.
Great tip, I will have to try that. Thank you so much for sharing that with us!!!🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I meant Ritt spell check changed it. The colors you end up with are unexpected, I will color remove first then sew if I'm not sure what will happen.
I knew you meant Ritt.😉 I love the surprise of unexpected colors!😍😍😍
I like it

NICE 👍👍

Thank you so much for showing us how to make great items . I am brand new to sewing and need to buy a new sewing machine . Could you pretty please give me a recommendation for your favorite machine that does everything?
Maybe someone here can recommend a machine. Mine is a Brother LX3817, it's very basic.🤗💖💖💖
Love love love it, but without the letters,
Too cool!❤
Thank you 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
So do you know what color it will turn out before bleaching? That was awesome!
I never know lol🤗💖💖💖💖
Hi. Looks great. If washed again would other clothes in the wash change colour from the bleach that was previously used? Thx Norma
Not at all🥰🥰🥰
Cool

Hi thanks for explaining steps so well. I was wondering if future washes would affect other clothes in the wash due to the previous use of bleach? Thx Norma
No, just like when u bleach whites
Love how shirt turned out. I always make sure to buy 100% cotton flannel but....i had a flannel that would not bleach that was 100% cotton. Any ideas as to why it wouldn't bleach?
Good question, I don't know. Once in a great while that happens to me, as well.🤔

@@meghan9436 that totally makes sense!! I wonder, too if fabric softeners block the bleaching?

what kind of thread do u use? cotton or polyester ?
Typically polyester 🤗💛
