One of the things I love about Sydney (and cities derived from European ancestry) is the fact that city planners and architects had the consideration of the general public by providing covered extensions over the sidewalks in central business districts. Obviously a benefit in rain such as this, but also provide shade from direct sun. In the United States, with rare exception, it seems the opposite is true. You have to walk across long stretches of unprotected parking lots or whatever. And yet everyone was caught by surprise that the downtown areas of cities almost died out during the 1970s, when they were constructing mall after mall out in the suburbs. Furthermore, add to that fact that it is only of latter years that the notion of transit-oriented (directly-connected) trains to shopping areas is starting to become the expectation. Of course, now a days there is no money being voted or budgeted to do it, due to a national denial of such need for infrastructure repair and improvement, at least as the ballot box shows.
Well, luckily it seems the era of car-dependence and lack of human-centred urban planning is slowly subsiding -- in the US and Australia. Our cities still do suffer (eg inequality due to lack of housing), but the inner areas tend to evoke a higher standard than many in the US. You should see Melbourne for awnings!
Love the walk in the rain, couldn't help notice the footwear on other walkers feet. Everything from flip flops to what looked like rain boots. Lot of tennis shoes and sandals too. If I were to take a walk like yours, I'd be sure my feet stayed dry with a good pair of boots. Also surprised at the number of people on foot. Our downtown area is mostly devoid of walkers because everyone drives and parks near their shops of choice as possible. Kinda sad because it used to have a thriving umber of walkers in all kinds of weather. Envy Sydney's healthy foot traffic. Thanks for sharing
In Sydney, weather tends to be too warm for ''closed'' shoes most of the time and there are very brief, unexpected and unpredictable rainfalls all the time. It's complicated haha
Other than an umbrella, what do you wear to stay warm & dry? When it rains, I sleep in my car or sit on my porch in my oodie and under my clear mushroom umbrella ❤
Love the sound of the rain

Agreed, the cover is very beneficial especially on a hot summer day or when you've forgotten your umbrella. Thanks for watching!

Very relaxing video 👍 thanks for sharing 😍 may I know what windshield do you use for your Roland mic as they are very sensitive to wind? 🙏
I made windshield myself from pieces of foam and wrapped it around the mics
