I'm curious why the 3rd moves to the top of the voicing when you root on the low E string, instead of between the 1 and b7 as when you root on the A string. Any reason besides maybe that's how it was done in the original version? Thanks! You're my portal into beginning jazz guitar. 🙂
Hi John, you could voice the dominant off the low E with the third in the middle of the voicing. Say for G7 you could play 3 2 3 XXX. - GBF. This would be a bit muddy though being on EAD. Hope that helps.
