Hi Hannah. I wanted to let you know through your UA-cam channel you’ve helped me with what I’m facing with my own health deterioration but also how there is more to us than our health problems and all that come along with that. You’ve helped me put together a list of books and got me interested in poetry. I hated poetry at school as with my dyslexia I couldn’t rhyme words at all but you’ve shown that there’s more to poetry than rhyming words. You openness about living while also dying has helped me and helped me to be more of an advocate for my own care and what I feel I need. Despite how challenging your life must be physically and emotionally you work so hard to be a voice for young adults like myself and this is lovely video and you totally deserve this award in recognition of all you do. Thank you.
Thank you so much Jen. I appreciate you. I'm going to do the workshop I booked with you in January, I think. I'll be in touch. I'm still pinching myself about this award, it has really altered how I think about my work xx
Thank you so much for the kindness of these words. I'm still pinching myself! It has certainly made me realise that I need to keep going. I love what I do, and the fact it has been recognised at such a high standard is mind blowing for me. x
Congratulations! You deserve it not only are you the canniest poet when it comes to metaphor and wit but your readiness to talk about death is such a generous gift. It sets us all free. Thank you.
Utterly brilliant Hannah and so very well deserved, you have every right to be proud of all that you have achieved and the difference you are making now and in the future ❤️
Thank you Sandra, it has certainly made me realise how important little steps can be, especially once they accumulate. By that I mean, writing poems and that eventually becoming a book, attending meetings and that actually resulting in influencing NHS policy, giving a talk and someone remembers it four years on. Take care. I wish you a happy new year! x
Dear Hannah, I am so joyful for you! Congratulations on winning the Diana Award! It could not have gone to a nicer person. Was so happy to see this video pop up ! xoxoxoxoxo
Hey Shala, Thanks so much for your kind words, I can't actually believe it happened! So amazing, it has really boosted my confidence. I hope you had a lovely Christmas, if you celebrate, and wish you a happy new year xxx
This is truly amazing, Hannah. Well done, lovely. I’ve tried to be in touch but not sure you’re getting my msgs. I miss our chats 🥰 I think of you often when I use the beautiful note books you gave me as book journals. Take care. Sending hugs x
Hi Gem. Truth is, I am absolutely drowning in admin and am now that person who is terrible at replying. I would love to chat again soon, also. Maybe a zoom? Then its on my calendar and I'll actually carve out time? Anyway, I'm so thrilled you like the notebooks. That feels like years ago! Take care xx
Thanks so much. I've got a few videos saved up in the bank but I wanted to post this first as a bit of an explainer as to where I've been and what I've been doing! I hope you had a lovely Christmas. Take care :)
Thanks so much Wayne! It has been a rollercoaster ride! Santa was indeed very kind this year. I hope you had a lovely Christmas and we get a better new year (better than the last two, please god). 💜
I can only wish you the best. Gastrointestinal motility disorder are very very rare and too difficult to manage, for this reason the interest about them is very poor, a lot of doctors don't even know them. I wish someday someone Is going to help us. i reccomend you to follow a UA-cam Channel of a guy suffering since he is born of CIPO(chronic intestinal pseudo obstruction) his name Is Garrett Taira. He Is going to have a multivisceral intestinal transplant, his liver can't supporto anymore TPN and the transplant should help his bowel.
Congratulations, Hannah, and thank you for sharing this video! I so admire your writing and your activism.
It’s so great to see you post this video after so long - congratulations on your award!
