Love you poem. I am going to copy and change he to she. I just ordered a 6'x6' light weight stand alone type shelter unit. Kinda like having a living room.
Could not watch the news anymore. This video did the trick. I'm now relaxed with a smile on my face. God's creations are wondrous, beautiful, and healing. Thank you for sharing :)
What a nice video. A smiled all the way through it. Thank you for helping me smile at this stressful time here in the States and everywhere else. Night Cruz! Sniff, sniff, snort.
Just a tip. As you haven’t used an awning before. You should not mount it as low as you mentioned in this video. If you lower the mount too much, at the van, when you open your barn style side doors the outer top edges of the doors could rip or at least prematurely wear through the awning when you have it extended. To check the proper height to set the awning, open your side doors to 90 degrees. Make sure they don’t scrape the underside of awning.
Loved the vlog. Your awning is a grand addition to your comfort level! As another comment said, looks like you might be able to turn the brackets over which would lower the awning. Thank you Chrome for being you and sharing your life with us.
Great minds think alike, I added my awning a month ago. Your installation looked way easier than mine, excellent editing. Beautiful video showing an exciting connection with nature, you are living the dream and I love you for it. Thank you for the share, stay safe, enjoy.
Hey Chrome and Cruz Thanks for the great video. Love the awning. It's like a whole new room added to your home. Such a great camp you found there...I'd have a hard time leaving that spot!! Safe travels
Too funny! Cruze wanted to eat those sheep for dinner! He was saying, " Quick Dad! Don't let them get away! I'm sure that they will taste great with BBQ sauce!" That's what I like about you Chrome you always know how to have a great time and make us laugh! That camp is totally adorable too! Thank you for sharing this with us!👍👍😊🐌🦎🦋🐌🌼🚐🚙
Super happy you got the awning up....looks great. And yep tie cords sure do help with stability. Please Cruz’s heart for protecting you guys from the dreaded big horn sheep family.....he’s such a riot. I just love him. Nice video. As always.
That was an awesome campsite! So nice to be out in nature instead of cooped up like us homebodies! That campsite was done up so nice! Thanks for sharing!
G’day krome hi from 🇦🇺 turn the bracket the other way so it drops and then you can move it back and forward so you don’t hit the bump stops on your rack..also when you set it up throw the awning on to your rack and set the arms out first then roll the awning out so then you can set the legs and the arms out at the same time.and when you pack up just legs in first then roll it back on to the rack then put the arms in just reverse as your setting up..gud luck and stay safe..
Your home really looks great you've come a long ways your home has a very welcoming comfortable look to it may you and your dog have safe travels thanks for the great video and update I always look forward on your next video thanks again
Tumeden Yeah, the lady that was doing that could be infected, she shouldn’t of been touching somebody else’s dog. Dogs don’t carry coronavirus, but they carried on the surface of their body just like anything else does.
Okay I have been wanting an awning and seeing it on your van (I also have a Ford) settled the argument between me myself and I. Best tequila best friends best guard dog...thanks for sharing your thoughts.
May I make a suggestion. Keep the awning at that height and put a board on your roof racks for storage. Butt the board right up to the awning which will keep the rain from coming in under it. You will have height + air flow when it is hot. We installed an awning both sides of our iMax because we sliding doors on driver's and passenger's side. We have a tailgate tent out the back too.
Love the awning. If you make it much lower you're going to need to worry about the van doors possibly tearing the awning especially if some wind comes along. Stay safe and happy trails.
Thank you ! Its physical distancing not social. we are not pushing people away socially just having them stand a few extra fee away .... stop this social distancing crap....
Make a couple of baseplates out of plywood. If you ever have it out in heavy wind (which I don't recommend) the legs will start bouncing up and down, thus digging a hole. In that case the guys will become loose. This can create a butt puckering night. If it's windy don't try to put that away alone. It's hard enough with 2 people in heavy wind. You'll have to leave it out and keep an eye on it. Also get some clamps to use where the Velcro is. That Velcro lets go in moderate wind. Use some cardboard between the clamps and fabric to keep it from ripping. You can get some shade cloth and make curtins to go around, held on with clamps. Lets the breeze through and gives some privacy. I have an ARB and it looks considerably heavier. I love my awning. It really ties the van together.
Excelent video. Love your work and sincere approach to life. About the gap, give it a try as is to see if it works. Take into consideration that if you need to close a door or both doors they might rub against the fabric if you lower the bracket. Stay safe and be safe.
This is the first time I have seen you put up your awning, alone. I never even knew you had one. . . You are blessed to be able to do this, I hope you have 2 months worth of provisions. . . Aaaah, I see now you installing it :)
Hiya Chrome 😊 It’s great to see you taking social/physical distancing seriously and spreading that message in your usual fun and positive way in these crazy times. 👍🏽😁 Someone else may have already mentioned this but I just wanted to put out there for you and anybody else who may have DOGS, or other pets, that unfortunately SOCIAL DISTANCING also applies to them because they are a ‘surface’ subject to contamination like any other... (like a tequila shot glass😉) if somebody touches lil CRUZY BEAR (as your friend so lovingly did in this video) ...then you touch Cruz ...then you touch your face ...you could potentially get sick. Also Cruz lying down in your van afterwards means that your van is potentially getting contaminated as well😳😞 just food for thought ... I care a lot about you both and want you to be safe and stay healthy during all this 🙏🏽💓 Witnessing your evolution of spirit along your amazing VANLIFE journey has also been quite inspiring 💖 I’ve been following your channel for almost a year now and look forward to watching your fun, informative and lighthearted videos everyday (the world needs your lovely energy right now more than ever)🙏🏽💓🌎✌🏽

Awning looking awesome well done!
Hi Gloria here your awning looks great enjoy have a great day be safe. I am traveling with you in my living room. Lol but true. Gloria.
You could also try to flip the bracket, short side bolted to the rack, and the long side downward would drop the awning several inches.
Thx for the video , nature is wonderful!
Awesome location (and awning). Wow, bighorn sheep!! Or goats??
What? No drink for them.
That was an awesome campsite! So nice to be out in nature instead of cooped up like us homebodies! That campsite was done up so nice! Thanks for sharing!
Can you just flip the black "L" brackets over to lower it a couple of inches.
Tony exactly what I was thinking
by marking it now on awning , pull it down and ya, flip the bracket, and tighten first.
Should bolt right up where he wants
G’day krome hi from 🇦🇺 turn the bracket the other way so it drops and then you can move it back and forward so you don’t hit the bump stops on your rack..also when you set it up throw the awning on to your rack and set the arms out first then roll the awning out so then you can set the legs and the arms out at the same time.and when you pack up just legs in first then roll it back on to the rack then put the arms in just reverse as your setting up..gud luck and stay safe..
Hope your ok, stay safe.Beautiful scenery. Be safe in this world.
@VANCITY VANLIFE: 5:10 be careful the awning slides on the top leftdoor. In time it might create a hole.
Nice work BTW👍🏽
Be free my friend have fun just live stay safe.
Can you imagine what it would be like on a hot day and leaving your doors open with just your netting up. It would cool everything off so nicely
Great video. Amazing seeing the wildlife stop for a visit. Cruz, is a great guard dog. He was so cute. 🐶❤

LOL cruz was loving those belly rubs.
Tumeden Yeah, the lady that was doing that could be infected, she shouldn’t of been touching somebody else’s dog. Dogs don’t carry coronavirus, but they carried on the surface of their body just like anything else does.

Elizabeth Foote Loved him sunning himself. Why the leash though? He's usually free range.Virus?
Sheila Blische ...there’s a steep incline he could fall down.
Oh Cruz, the sounds you make 😍 like an old V8 engine purring and bubbling and lovely 🥰
That's nice

I like Cruz. Don’t come sneaking up on me and my dad. Cool stay safe.

Lol...Social Distancing!!! Wow!!! The goats are awesome!!!👠🚌👠
LMAO! They obviously weren't too afraid of his bark. They were prob thinking "Oh that's Cruz! We've heard about him, no threat there!"
What a location!
Look at all those Converse sole prints on the floor. Haha
Could you turn the L-bracket over, so the short end is facing down instead of up?
He going to have to bend the tab out a bit I believe
turning the L bracket will work but he have to mount the bracket on the oning first then to the roof rack
@@nonyabizness.original maybe he can slide the longer part of the l-bracket over more, to give the shorter part more clearance from the end caps.

Cruz enforcing that social distance! I'm psyched about the awning.
I know you are learning still. Put your anchors in the ground at a 45 deg. angle. They hold much better.
Such Majestic Animals,,,,,,,,,,,
Nice, thanks for sharing.
Omg there's so many of them..that was awesome 🤗
Aaahhh!!! I miss Virginia! She's the bomb!
Amazing looking spot Chrome!
Nice simple awning.
I see a screen to fit the awning coming.
Love the awning ,Man ! Thanks for sharing!
The awning clears the doors well though. TAKE CARE..
When you sit still long enough, nature comes to you.
Congrats Chrome. If I could cross the border, I'd come help. I'm out of work anyway! But there's that whole pesky border in the way. :D
