The bamboo "humbly befriending a rock" 虛心友石 is a theme featured in the classic Mustard Seed Manual of Painting. I did this plein air ink sketch in our backyard as a study for my upcoming class on painting bamboo with rocks.

Henry, Have you used Pentel water brushes? If so how do they compare to the brush pens you have?
No, I haven't. The price of one of those equals to 7 of BHA piston water brushes pens which you can refill freely. Actually, I prefer to fill them with water and work with our convenient ink cake to get the gradation of ink tones. You don't have ink tonality from an ink cartridge.
