Cooking in the cold on my Weber Kettle

I currently live in South Dakota and today at 1410 it is one degree. We moved here from Huntington Beach, CA. In the first part of November while living in SoCal I went to a store to buy charcoal. They didn't have any. I asked a store employee were they had moved the charcoal, he said "We don't stock it because it is out of season". I said, "You must know it is 70 degrees outside right?" He said, "I know that's why." AMAZING ! !

I always get weird looks when I buy charcoal and it’s cold outside. Kind of crazy to me people think there is a season for cooking outdoors but maybe we’re the crazy ones!

Lots of good bark. I'm going to do some ribs for Christmas, it's supposed to be in the low 20s high teens. I'm going to try that method you used.

Give it a try and find out! You'll likely need to use a lot more charcoal than you'd think (for sure use lump) but theres only one way to learn!
