I'm trying not to criticize doom, because, well... It's just ripping and tearing, but listening to the soundtrack without playing the game makes the last 3 minutes of the most seem unnecessarily long. It wouldn't be as noticeable when playing the game because you're more focused on trying not to die than what the boss music sounds like.

@@IconOfSin Haha yeah they kind of do suck a bit in Eternal. They were my go-to weapon in DOOM 2016 though. The much larger ammo count in 2016 helps with consistently raining hellfire with that mod.
I just wanted to comment on the composition of this poster in particular, because I think it's a good example of using colors to make certain things pop. For a long time, the colors red and/or blue will be used in contrast with green and/or purple, or other complementary colors. I've found this to be most prominent in comic book covers for Marvel and DC, and the designs of those characters. Superman is primarily red and blue, and Lex Luthor has a green and purple power suit Spider-Man is red and blue, and Green Goblin is green and purple Batman (for a time) was prominently blue and the Joker was purple and green etc. However, here we see that the Doom Slayer primarily uses the color green in addition to some bluish and brownish colors. I just now realized how clever this is, as the Slayer is the protector of Earth, and therefore using Earth colors such as green, blue, and brown are an excellent reflection of that. You can also see, as I explained, that Doom Slayer is given much more prominence and stands out more because his green is surrounded by complementary reds and blues of the enemies and environments. It also helps, rather obviously, that the Slayer seems much more illuminated while the surrounding environment and enemies are much darker. The gold on the Blood Maykr's design is, therefore, more noticeable and catches the eye because it complements the blue and red of the scene and is also rather bright.

Might be a cut segment. Someone said its from Dusk but I've never heard it in Dusk and it doesn't sound like the production of any Dusk track (also why would one Dusk clip be in the Doom files). I liked it so I put it in
This is composed from several dozen files which comprise short and long segments of the song, firstly arranged, phase aligned, blended (most have heads and tails to help them blend cleaner in game since the ingame transitions tend to miss the beat, they mask that but you don't always want them in a mix), so there's that, getting those beats to line up and not stammer or jump like they do ingame and in a lot of mixes online. Audio segments are processed to improve dynamics, stereo width, and undo some of the masking that would be done so the music doesn't clash with game sound (clusters of the same frequencies etc). In the case of this song obviously you want the snare, kick and guitar to punch and sit dominant in the mix, so that's the main aim, push the bass, and transients where needed (really depends on the song, these get quite busy and there's a lot to be listening for). So in all these that's what I'm going for - don't get me wrong this would never match an official OST, since I'm taking compressed music and trying to "uncompress" it, find the dynamics and bring them to the front of the mix. Without this I find these rips are very muddy, since obviously they've been mixed for the game in a way to allow the myriad of sound effects in Doom Eternal still be heard while this would be playing.
@@IconOfSin must say this process is is pretty effective. Thanks for the explanation. And as for the remaster, it's the only thing we get close to Mick's perfection.
