I totally agree ! My placidus and whole sign say the same thing even though all my planets shift because of my 29 degree ASC. However , whole sign is a more literal approach to what’s going on and placidus is more my psychological approach to life.
Think about Therapy and psychology hasn’t even been around that long, back in the day people weren’t worrying about mental illness, love languages , emotions etc it was more so about surviving and seeing what’s next to come…plus knowledge has broaden so much

Whole sign completely changes my chart, because my rising is 28 degrees. It takes away my western bowl, pulls my Saturn out of Joy, Jupiter and nn, putting them in 1st. Also removes my intercepted houses.
The video was very interesting, and I've also concluded that it's easier to stick to the whole sign system while learning. However, I find it quite frustrating that my chart changes drastically with the Placidus system. In the Whole Sign system, I am a 28-degree Libra rising with Mars, Mercury, and the Sun in the 4th house, and Venus in the 6th house. However, in the Placidus system, these three planets shift to the 3rd house, and Venus moves to the 4th house. This results in a completely different chart, with essentially all the planets in different houses.
I learned astrology with Placidus 😂😂 and indeed it felt like math but I love math and it was logic and intuitive so it wasn't that overwhelming. Now I prefer and use placidus but I also use whole house from time to time.
Same for western and vedic, I use and mix both. Been read in both, and although the signs are different, it always resonated in the end. Everything is connected ~

@@The_Spiritual_Scientistplacidus isn’t actually meant to be used for natal readings, it’s meant for other things but whole sign is the most accurate, it’s deep yet straightforward and helps you manifest better, I switched a few months ago after being SO stubborn about it 😂

Equal house system is by far the best. Same benefits as whole sign only it fixes the biggest problem with whole sign. A planet cannot be 29° behind ascendant and still be first house, drives me nuts that people think whole sign is superior to equal. And placidius just misses the core essence of an individual. Equal house sytem with mc in the highest point of burth chart, is the most ancient method, dating back to the Egyptian astrology.

@@lemthegem313 Reading my chart through equal felt very natural compared to other house systems. Just to clarify if you have an ascendant at a high degree, the next sign actually has a large influence over yourself. That goes for each house, like if you're Aries rising 28 degrees, Taurus will have a major impact on how you present yourself, especially if you have a planet there.
@@Jax.Scorpio I agree! I’ve noticed that equal signs is very accurate for myself as well. Especially when dealing with placements on the cusp of 28°-2°

I've always followed the whole house system. Looking through my chart and doing research, I felt like it wasn't truly me. I recently came across the Placidus chart. Now, I have a complete picture and it's starting to make sense. The only confusing thing is the charts are different. With the whole system, I'm a Sag rising. Placidus puts me Scorpio rising. But I'm glad I'm finding everything I need to try to map out my soul’s purpose ❤😊
The house system doesn't change the ascendant degree. In placidus the 1st house starts from asc degree but in whole sign the same degree floats in the first house which starts from 0 degrees of that sign. They only time your ascendant will go backwards is from tropical Zodiac to sidereal. 😊
With all due respect to everyone using Whole Signs House:
in my view, apart from the scholarly astrologers who introduced or re-introduced this ancient system, hardly any followers of this system have really chosen it. Their choice is in not being based on their own empirical experiences or a deep study of the mechanics involved in the Quadrant Houses. You may be an exception though. This us not a personal criticism.
As I said in other comments I posted on many sites, something extremely important is lost in the Whole Sign Houses which is ultimately not a House system at all.
Where is, in the Whole Sign Houses, the earth primary motion, rotation on its axis? The Angles are left to float and become dynamic points! These Whole Sign Houses are 'accidental' (each Sign following the next in their zodiacal sequence), and, as such, they have a purpose in delineation and predictions, but will never substitute a proper understanding of the real sky experience that Placidus provides, for example. They simply slice the zodiac, ignoring the fact that the Houses are on a different plane of reference, as they are calculated in Right Ascension and Oblique Ascension on the Celestial Equator not on the Ecliptic (Zodiac). Their positions in the Ecliptic is a projection.
Are there the same number of hours between sunrise and midday, in summer and winter and in different locations on the planet? No. The Quadrant Houses show the reality of our visual experience, the same reality the early sky watchers were observing. The Houses aren't only a space division but also a time division. A very important distinction that seems to be ignored by Whole Sign Houses advocates.
It is not even true that Placidus system breaks down at very high northern or southern latitudes, as the brilliant technical astrologer Michael Wackford has demonstrated. His illuminating articles can be found in the Skyscript website.
My view is that ancient astrology is not necessarily better than 'modern' astrology. If that was the case we should start using the discriminatory and fatalistic language they were using, where all Capricorns have a 'cadaverous complexion' and all Scorpios are spawns of the Devil! It isn't right to pick and choose what we like of our ancestors' astrological knowledge and reject what we don't like or that we found inappropriate to our more democratic, psychologically savvy and inclusive times.
The reason given here that it is better for beginners to use the Whole Signs Houses doesn't seem relevant nowadays when everyone uses computer programs. Where is the diffuculty? To explain intercepted Houses? Perhaps to realize that these just add useful nuances to the reading rather than consider them too complicated.
The House System choice is a hot dispute that has caused some real vitriol between practitioners. I don't want to go there.
I sincerely respect anyone who loves astrology as much as I do, no matter which 'House System' they use.
I feel you are a true lover of this ancient art. But sometimes I am compelled to express my point of view, built on over forty years of exoerience.
Astrologers should have a basic understanding of the mechanics of planetary motions without being forced to study trigonometry! Beginners should be given good foundations, I feel.

The reason why it confuses me so much, is because it shifts my chart soooo much. It would be a totally different perspective of life. If I use whole houses, it shifts my 11th house stellium into a 12th house stellium and my 7th house Jupiter into my 8th house. The shift is so polarized to me, It reminds me of shadow and light. Like I should use whole houses when doing shadow work, and Placidus when I'm doing light work. Does that make any sense to you at all?
It actually makes sense to me, because when I'm in a "darker" place I do become very introverted, reclusive, and frugal. When everything is flowing well in my life, I'm extroverted and "making it rain" at a club. I've told very close friends of mine that I'm introverted, and they're like, "You're not introverted at all" They just don't live with me lol. When I'm at home, I hermit out in my room when I'm stressed out.

This is very interesting, I've never heard it explained this way. Makes a lot of sense! Thank you for making this video, now I can see my charts differently. 😊 I was wondering how it'd work when it says a single house is in two signs at the same time, now I know it's hints of both. And I was also curious how my whole sign house says my 10th house is in libra, but in my Placidus chart it starts in Scorpio and ends in Sagittarius. Not sure how those signs would speak a similar message though 🤔 Could be that I just don't understand enough yet. I appreciate your insights, I look forward to trying to understand my charts again. ☺
Same for me... MC is in Scorpio as a point, but in Libra if I use Whole or Equal house system
@@sarutucigashyour MC point doesn’t change whether whole sign or placidus but your 10th house cusp will change. In your case (if your midheaven fell in 10H in placidus).. in whole sign your MC would now fall in your 11th showing themes where your tribe , community humanitarian acts long term goals etc. play into your MC or highest purpose
I learned astrology using placidus. It definitely was a whole event. Lol 😅 I only recently stumbled upon whole sin astrology and it's because my Saturn placement and placidus did not make a whole lot of sense. Wow, my chart is fundamentally different in the whole sign astrology than it is placidus. Now, everyone else I know I don't see the massive differences but mine is fundamentally different. My only guess is that I had a lot of cusp energy going on because it moved my son house, it moves my North and South node houses, it moved my Saturn.... It moved my black moon Lilith. Wow..😮
Which do you suggest to look at when watching your videos? I learned on Placidus, however a lot of the apps use whole house. My houses vary a lot btw the two though. Ex: Im scorpio in the 9th house in Placidus (mostly) and scorpio in the 11th house in whole house
