I remember watching this clip when I was younger. I was too young to know what time the IU games came on TV, but when dad had the game on and I heard her singing, I sat right next to him and watched the games.
There was also a pretty good one by Farm Bureau that depicted a Purdue alum dusting off his old trombone in the attic. It aired for several years before Purdue games. Those two commercials encapsulated the excellence that both Indiana and Purdue brought to our state during those glory years.
I live in Texas, and I was a student trainer for the Men's Basketball team from 1989 tom 1991. This classic video brings back many Assembly Hall memories.
x001m69 im pretty sure its played for every home game, the played it and a thing about kids growing up in indiana playing basketball on barn hoops before the la tech game
@Sir Keith Richards I was simply saying I remember when the VanArsdale twins were playing at IU...early 60s. Also listened to IU on the radio when Branch McCracken was still head coach, circa 1954 or 55. Never been anything other than a Hoosier fan. GO IU!!
Wow...I was just a kid back when this used to get played on tv. Sure does bring back memories. You knew as soon as you saw that janitor lady in the empty hallway that you were about to see Bobby Knight's Indiana Hoosiers hit the basketball court. He always bred winning players during his time as their coach, and the reasons why he left his spot were an injustice to the entire game of basketball itself...but who would've ever guessed our country would ever start pampering boys instead of grooming them to become real American men? Fast forward to the future and we see the product of that decision. Yeah..great call on that one you schmucks lol! All that garbage aside...that's one legend who left a legacy that cannot ever be forgotten. R.I.P. Bobby Knight
Purdue’s Farm Bureau Insurance ad involved a guy in the attack finding a tuba. He plays the first bars of “Hail Purdue!” and the “band” responds. ua-cam.com/video/zo1yLqd6xMM/v-deo.htmlsi=p1rLUt6azjqlvBxy

Went to IU for five years in the 70's . . . This always brings out a smile
I remember watching this clip when I was younger. I was too young to know what time the IU games came on TV, but when dad had the game on and I heard her singing, I sat right next to him and watched the games.
Same but I had to VCR record the games for my dad who worked 2nd shift lol
100%
...and everybody in the house sang it at the top of their lungs.
The fact that Martha isn't still the opener is a loss. Hearing this as a kid I could feel the electricity of the crowd. We love Martha!

She absolutely is. I was just there for the opener against SIUE. They absolutely played this

Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance has a version of a commercial for Purdue fans. It involves a guy in the attic who finds a tuba and plays "Hail Purdue!"
