Hi, I remove any really obvious VM before scouring but I don’t pick or tumble the fleece. By the time it goes through all the various stages, carding, spinning etc most of the VM has fallen out. I imagine alapacas will roll about in dust etc whereas most of the VM in sheep’s wool is from bedding and hay seeds.
Hi there. The hooks on my flyer are always on the left…So if my flyer is sitting flat the hooks are on the top of the left arm and the ones on the right arm are underneath. The hooks on the right arm are just there to balance the flyer. However some flyers do have the hooks on the same side in which case I wouldn’t think it would matter which side you use. 😊
Lovely process, thank you for sharing ❤
Thank you 😊…Thanks for watching
Do you tumble or pick your fiber before scouring ? I didn't see any VM in your wool..VM is a big battle for me with my alpacas.

Do you use the left hand side hooks when spinning clockwise ? I have always used the right hand ones am I wrong or doesn’t it matter ?
