Damn my dear Americans if you knew how much I admire you, I am a good old native Frenchman, and I would so love to come to your house and share moments of life like these! You will forever be in our hearts 🇺🇲🇲🇫
I used to help my grandad can sausage and salmon when I was a kid.. You don't see a lot of people canning their own vegetables or meat these days.. I'm glad I was brought up the way I was..
@myang920 There's nothing wrong with canned food from the store.. Most of the time, the canning factories are close to the fields where the veggies are grown.. They are harvested and canned within a matter of hours.. I grow a lot of my own food but not everything.. I still have to buy groceries every week.. Growing your own food isn't really any cheaper than buying it either, but it's a lot more work.. It is nice to know that if something happens I have the ability to feed myself and my family.. It's never too late to learn though.. There are some extremely knowledgeable people right here on UA-cam..
@@myang920 Like someone already said, nothing at all wrong with store canned stuff. The most important thing is that you are prepared, not how you got there. Not everybody has land and live where they can stock a pantry with game, but even a corner of a closet can hold a lot of food if you aren't trying to buy it in an emergency when everyone else is buying it all up. I keep a stocked pantry, and just rotate out the old stuff so it's always has cans that can go years.
Just found your channel. I can deer meat 2 different ways. One, I'll cold pack the meat with 2/3 deer to 1/3 pork, canning salt and no liquid. Pressure can at 10lbs for 1 hour. It makes its own broth and the pork adds flavor to it. Two, I'll season the cubed deer with non iodized salt, pepper and brown it in skillet. Then pack the jars with it and pour hot beef broth in. Can at 10lbs for 1 hour. Both ways are great. Can use in many recipes. After watching your way, I am going to add some onion and garlic to mine. I'm canning deer today from my fall harvest. Enjoyed your video! Stay prepped!
Great Job Showing all!I put 1/2tesp. Of Garlic Salt or my favorite other seasonings befor I pack the meat in... This is Also AWESOME TO PACKBIN THE ELK MEAT TOO...
My grandma used to can partridge when we shot more than we could eat, rather than freeze them. She'd can rabbit too when we'd get a bunch. Meat keeps for over a year that way, and is very tender and delicious. And no freezer burn.
I'm 71. The first meat I remember being canned was my mama canning squirrel; makes for quick dumplings. I can pretty much anything and especially like the convenience of canned meats. Money in the bank.
Great video bud and huge fan...I can a whole hind quarter every year and we love it. I do mine 75 minutes for pints though. Actually working on a batch now!
Funny you posted this now. My in laws canned up a bunch about 2 months ago. We ate some a few weeks ago and it was very good. Heat it with some gravy mix and put it over rice.
Awesome Videos!! I am from Louisiana. Now I'm Houston Tx. People here are always asking, WHAT IS THE BIG DEAL ABOUT GREEN ONION SAUSAGE? If You can would You make a video on How to make it and why it is SO LOVED IN LOUISIANA!
Peace and love brother. Me and my wife love watching you cook copious amounts food. Can we see you do some chitlins???? That's some more money dood💲💲💲💲💲
How do you know the meat is cooked ? Do you dry storage them or refrigerate? I ain’t never canned or jarred anything you said it keeps for years that’s crazy good way to Neal prep for work or them outdoor adventure days
Can pressure can most anything you desire, cooking time is key to preservation. Really wanna get into it you can get metal cans just like in the store.

Like my gma always said.
“You may never know where your next meal comes from, until you put it in a jar”.

Wish I learnt that as a kid, unfortunately, the store is where I get all my canned food :(

Most recommend 75 min for pints and 90 min for quarts after vented and up to pressure. Some recommendations are for 90 for all

It's good right out the jar!
Canned venison is da bomb ! But, the cooking time in a pressure cooker is 75 minutes, not 45.
🥰
I cook my meat, the way I like it, before packing into jars to can. A huge difference!
Yeah if you are smart you will be Canning, Dehydrating and Reloading right now! Hard times are in the mail! 🔥💲👍
