That slide-out interior is such a fantastic alternative to the loose connections we're used to! I'd love to see this applied to more sets and I'm especially curious to see how people will use it in MOCs!
That kinda reminds me of the The Office set, where Michael's office can slide out. Haven't built it yet but I can't imagine not designing Andy's office and switching between the two.

Upon seeing the box in person though and learning the truth, it became pretty obvious that LEGO had scammed me. Yeah, the city is cool, but all I really wanted was the boat. I think fans across the world are going to find this set to be a waste of time and money because the boat capsizes far too easily. Do better, LEGO.

Another delightful set in the Ninjago City line. Has anyone tried marrying it to large Monkie Kid sets yet? After Jang's video, I was wondering who else would comment on the toilet feature, but you have to admit that design is brilliant. And man!, that was a hot take, when you mentioned Rivendell, Caleb. I could not say which one is the most beautiful of these sets, but this one is definitely far superior, when it comes to playability. And since we're talking about *toys*...
honestly I had trepidations about ninjago due to me writing it off as a theme that you gotta watch a show to really care about, but this looks like a genuinely fun build, and I love sets with nice interiors like this
With the Cole nanofig that's included in the set, I think the shrine was intended to be a tribute to Kirby Morrow, Cole's voice actor for over ten years who sadly passed away not too long ago. It's possible that a member of design team for the set didn't realise the tribute was specifically for Cole and his va, and swapped him out for the Jay nanofig during one of the later stages of the design process.
The Dragon Stone Shrine was me dipping my toe in some hot Ninjago, and today I finished Ninjago City Gardens. This one is next, I hope to get it sometime this fall. Can’t wait, it honestly looks amazing and I’m sure the build will be as fun and varied as Gardens was.
Great set, with all the usual cool things we expect from the Ninjago modulars. Would be nice to see a video with all the 4 sets together. Top review as always 👍🏽
The Ninjago Movie modulars had an excellent selection of figures but not as important to the show? if that makes sense. And then we got Gardens which had a amazing selection of figures, but I'd argue these figures are even better, I also love that we got a minor villian in this one as well as Gardens, (Gardens had the mechanic) Zane is fricking sick, I've wanted that figure ever since that silly episode, I picked up the overborg set earlier this year so to have a real Cyrus borg is sick too. The new Ninja are snazzy as always, Camille is just fun to get - and Dareth. I mean it's dareth that dragon wu looking print looks fantastic. If you purchased the spring Lantern festival set, that's like a Chinese garden with the fancy koi pond and such (believe that's what it's called) the Koi would look great in the water, and I think you get extras of that printed piece in the set I only have Gardens as well and I'm sad I missed out on the other two, but this is just Aaa. My god its beautiful how long did this set take u to build? Gardens took me 15 hours collectively but I was incredibly slow the poop feature is ridiculous, but seeing how far it has to travel, I reckon the way to build it is needlessly complicated, I'm here for it
I would have loved for the cable car gear system was tucked away for potential motor integration. Ik the bridge would be in the way, but still would've been cool.
Hey man, great vids by the way. I recently bought a Ninjago city gardens set, but for some reason on most of the glass pannels and clear pieces, there are white-ish marks/lines randomly in random places on them that dont come off. its on a few of the bricks also. any idea what these are or how to get them off. Thanks
Unfortunately they are scratch marks, yeah... I'm not sure how to get rid of them either. You can always get in touch with LEGO customer service and they will send replacements!
Yeah, i was thinking they were scratch marks or some residue of some sort, its just quite suprising as it is a brand new factory sealed set. Thanks though man, and have a good one.
Wait a minute... I never even noticed... YOU REACHED 100k SUBS! Good job man. I have been watching since the Gateway to the Sea video and I have seen this channel develop in so many ways... please... keep up the good work.
@cheesey studios I have a question regarding the building process, there’s a section of the pathway on the bottom floor, where the red market stand is with the box of frogs and the red bridge infront. How easy would you say is it to remove that and add your own tiles for water, so the red bridge infront of it is the only way across (not counting the upper levels)? That’s my MOC plan for this set.
Unfortunately that would be quite tricky as there's a lot of Technic under there keeping the model together. Instead, I'd suggest maybe adding a building there instead to block off the path. That could look pretty cool!
oooof I didn't even notice the part usage in the bridge, I was so focused on the perfect angles hahahahaha I'd just assumed the side was one piece, that's so sick!
Yknow after Indiana Jones I thought I was done buying Lego for a bit, no themes making new sets that interest me... but these just look so cool. I don't own any Ninjago City sets, or any Ninjago sets at all for that matter, but this might pull me in, damn it just looks so awesome. I need them all. And a new room to put them in...
Wow, you've been busy these last day with all these sets! I'm quite impressed for how much videos you uploaded. The mention of Jangbricks was that crossover you didn't know you needed it XD XD While I think Ninjago City sets were beautiful from what I've seen in other videos, I didn't like a little how cramped they were: too much detail but little space to move minifigures and how much dissassemble you need to do in order to access interiors. But this new set seems to avoid all of that! The toilet is brilliant, and given its controversion, I actually waiting for someone to modify it in order to not going into the river, or well, building a little treatment plant :3 I think I will buy this set in a future, the good part about large sets here in Costa Rica is that they don't go out so fast though being greatly desirable, so I can wait a considerable time before buying it n_n
i think they are trying to include different locations from the show but in this style here. so hope fully we get a borg tower kinda build eventually and dareths dojo, also the ninjas apartment from season 2 would be dope
This is one of the most desired 2023 sets for me, and I'm not even a Ninjago fan. I own the Gardens and they look so gorgeous together in the promos! This Ninjago modulars are some of the best sets that Lego ever made.
They really are. I wish I had kept my Gardens together now so I could see these two side by side. It's gonna make for an incredible display when you pick this one up!
Yeah, sorry about that one 😅 I went away last weekend and that was the one review that didn't get finished before I hit the road. I'm hoping I can get it up sometime this weekend. Just needs to be edited!
I now need someone now to do a comparison video between this and the Mos Eisley Cantina master builder set because I've been saving my money for it, but now I'm now completely torn on which one to get. I suppose they are completely different things lol
They are quite different. Looking at it as neither a Star Wars nor Ninjago fan, hopefully I can give you a relatively objective opinion: Markets gives you a much better value for your money. Markets has better colors, parts, and functionality. Cantina has amazing minifigures. Both are great display pieces. Markets is a superior building experience.
I am always so happy to see more of these. They kind of 'ruined' the traditional modular buildings for us. I love that they keep evolving the design (the slide out buildings is a very clever feature, getting into the older set's interiors can be a bit of hassle) while matching it to the older styles. Can't wait to nab this one!!
You gotta release a ninjago city floor tilling video. 🙏 Also awesome review, I probably wouldn't be able to get get the Easter eggs placed all over this set! 👍
Yhe only think is lego nrdds to replace string with metal chsin as dont like thin strings what if string snaps why vant we get pladtic or metal chain for cable car
I can't remember for sure, but I feel there HAS to have been at least one other Bionicle reference in a previous set too. H*ck, there was a Bionicle reference in a Harry Potter set 🤣
Also hot take but Tiago Catarino tends towards the shill side with all his reviews.... I wonder if he's still secretly employed by LEGO unofficially as a reviewer/influencer lol.... at any rate I can't remember the last time he uploaded a project, something creative, or anything that wasn't a review defending an overpriced set as worth it 😭😭😭
Hey cheesey, just a quick question :) I was wondering, do you like Star Wars at all, because in some of your videos you have a clone trooper helmet in the background. Just wondering about it, and thanks for the awesome video!
Am i the only one who thinks that they should have called it like something from the crossroads from the first episodes of the new series because it reminds me of that place especially during the carnival
Man, things have certainly come a long way! Even though I'm not a Ninjago guy myself, I love seeing the success of a home-grown LEGO theme. And I'm always down for more Ninjago City sets! xD
They are really committing to this poop chute theme. What's next, a loop-de-loop all around the city? Interconnected sewers between multiple Ninjago sets? The poopsibilities are endless!
The price is alittle scary... but it is a good looking set, but not having the other sets, will it be a good stand alone or do you need all the rest to make sense of it all.. questions I'll have to ponder... great video
Personally, I still think Gardens is the best standalone (and my all-time favorite) city section. If you have the extra $350 sitting around, you won't be disappointed. But yeah, these things are expensive xD Glad they wait a few years between releases so peoples' wallets can recover
Idk the lego city last set just doesn’t look that big on cam. I bet it feels bigger in real life but in the picture to me only looks as big as “the chamber of secrets” lego set (the newest one) witch isn’t tiny but its not collector massive ether tho it might just be me being weird because the first Time I saw the BIG one on the lego site I thought it was norm sized for 4 min until my sister pointed out how big the minifigs where next to it. So ether ima insane either way or lego city just doesn’t make very big sets I dunno. :) ps I love your lego minecraft world if I where to make any suggestions, that would be that you could put a few studs here and there to put the LEGO in lego minecraft, and so if you move minifigures around (if your the type to mess about with ur creations) but I know studies is a personal choice so ima not stress it just a idea:) you should also build a woodland mansion (but only a small part of corse) ps I think I like the 2018 hog express the best but that might just also be semiconscious defiance because its the only one I own :) but I do like the old car design butter and I like the bumpers being 2x2 disks on this set tho its awesome! I don't follow ningago, but I love the ski lift like thing :)
When it comes to the Hogwarts Express, I definitely feel the perfect train lies somewhere between the 2018 and 2023 one for sure. The bigger passenger cars are nice!

don't you just love when you're watching youtube and you find someone who was on lego masters
Ayy that's me 😂
I now need someone now to do a comparison video between this and the Mos Eisley Cantina master builder set because I've been saving my money for it, but now I'm now completely torn on which one to get. I suppose they are completely different things lol
They are quite different. Looking at it as neither a Star Wars nor Ninjago fan, hopefully I can give you a relatively objective opinion:
Markets gives you a much better value for your money.
Markets has better colors, parts, and functionality.
Cantina has amazing minifigures.
Both are great display pieces.
Markets is a superior building experience.
@@CheeseyStudios thank you, that does help! I may still go mos eisely because I am such a sucker for the figures
No way they added a nick valentine minifigure?!
I see you're a fan of fallout 4. I think the minifigure is called detective Zane
Can't wait to build this in June
It's so much fun. You're gonna love it!
Beautiful set. Great review! Just wish I could find space for it
Yeah, it's a lot. I have no idea where to put mine either.
Do you have any of the others
Like I mentioned, I have Gardens, but that's it. Do wish I had them all though! It would make an epic display
@@CheeseyStudios I have them all except the markets but will be getting it
I am always so happy to see more of these. They kind of 'ruined' the traditional modular buildings for us. I love that they keep evolving the design (the slide out buildings is a very clever feature, getting into the older set's interiors can be a bit of hassle) while matching it to the older styles.
Can't wait to nab this one!!
It's a great addition to the series, and I sure hope it continues too!
I love this set!!! I missed out on the first 2 going to be happy with adding this one to my collection I love the flushing toilet!
Love this set too! Hope we get more expansions in the future as well
Can you combine all 4 of the Ninjago city sets?
I wish I had them all. That would be soooo epic.
I have the first Ninjago city, but seeing these new sets makes me wanna get all of them
It would make for an epic display with all 4!
Excited for the upcoming "Ninjago city wastewater treatment facilities" integration
sameeeeee 🤣
You gotta release a ninjago city floor tilling video. 🙏
Also awesome review, I probably wouldn't be able to get get the Easter eggs placed all over this set! 👍
I'll have to remember to record that next time 🤣 Glad you enjoyed the video!
Man this set is Beautiful
Tending to blend in to the streets is probably a plus for a detective! 😅
LOL! So true
I love the Jang shoutout!
He's an inspiration! Love what he does
Yhe only think is lego nrdds to replace string with metal chsin as dont like thin strings what if string snaps why vant we get pladtic or metal chain for cable car
I do hate tying off the strings too, RIP
Also, I think that if they would use a round transparent blu piece (symbolising just water) for the flush function there wouldn't be any controversy)
That definitely could have helped
That billboard on the toilet looks like a Gundam reference to me 😊
Could very well be 👀
I like that lego is starting to get out figures that ninjago fans want including me, like Cyrus borg, gossip, and the mechanic
That's really sweet. Makes these sets all the more special!
Does anyone know what songs are used in the background? they sound really interesting
Yeah! They're all from the YT audio library:
Empire Seasons - Dan Heinz
Lau Tzu Ehru - Doug Maxwell
Koto San - Ofshane
@@CheeseyStudios Thank you so much
No problem!
I wonder if that transparent purple piece of glass would be good for a custom minecraft nether portal.
Honestly, could work pretty well, yeah!
I was not expecting a bionical torso. Dosas this mean it’s canon to Ninjago now?
I can't remember for sure, but I feel there HAS to have been at least one other Bionicle reference in a previous set too. H*ck, there was a Bionicle reference in a Harry Potter set 🤣
@@CheeseyStudios don't forget the recent galaxy explorer set also had a bionicle reference
Jang upped this review at the exact same time
Edit: not Jangbricks, Tiago Catarino
Probably the time an embargo on reviews was lifted
@@jackwalker4957 that makes sense
Also hot take but Tiago Catarino tends towards the shill side with all his reviews.... I wonder if he's still secretly employed by LEGO unofficially as a reviewer/influencer lol.... at any rate I can't remember the last time he uploaded a project, something creative, or anything that wasn't a review defending an overpriced set as worth it 😭😭😭
Can u link previous ninjsngo garden yo this sers and link it sll up
Yes! They all connect. Unfortunately I don't have all the sets, and my Gardens is dismantled... :c
I saw that cut, Cheesey! I know the lime tower fell!
12:51
Oh no 🤣 I've been exposed!
Will you be doing a early review on the pac man set?
PS great vid :)
I will. :) Glad you enjoyed!
It's a great set. The only question is: what's the point of having a bridge when right behind it the 2 "sides" are connected?
'cuz it looks COOL xD legendary 5 second shortcut too
I really want Like an small version that looks good but is also affordable.
A 32x16 section would be really cool
9year old me would love this video
Hey cheesey, just a quick question :) I was wondering, do you like Star Wars at all, because in some of your videos you have a clone trooper helmet in the background. Just wondering about it, and thanks for the awesome video!
It's actually my wife who's the big Star Wars fan in this house! :)
The set looks good
I wish they re-released the first iterations of the sets for those who missed it. Sadly, it probably won't happen.
Yeah, the old ones are soooo pricey now...
As HUGE ninjago fan I wanted to start pointing out all of the easter eggs but than i realized how many there are XD
I imagine there's a lot 🤣 It's a gift to the fans!
Am i the only one who thinks that they should have called it like something from the crossroads from the first episodes of the new series because it reminds me of that place especially during the carnival
That could have worked too, yeah!
I want to watch this video, but I also kinda want to wait and get the set for myself to see all the details lol
That's totally fair xD I definitely feel the same way about some sets!
How does the poo feature wotk like how goes tge brown yule goes from top to the waters
There's like a little slide that takes it from there. It's pretty epic actually
I remember when Ninjago sets were just a few mechs
Man, things have certainly come a long way! Even though I'm not a Ninjago guy myself, I love seeing the success of a home-grown LEGO theme. And I'm always down for more Ninjago City sets! xD
best set in this series for sure
It's a beauty!
Ayo, the flush part is like the river in my actual town. Cannot swim in those waters due to all the poop :(
Ahhhhhhh that's terrifying 😭
I want this set so badly 😭😭😭
when you sad "did jay die" well we don't actually know?
Us ninja go fans don't see him in the trailer that offen so he could die : (
Oh no :(
:( he was the funnier character of ninjago
They are really committing to this poop chute theme. What's next, a loop-de-loop all around the city? Interconnected sewers between multiple Ninjago sets? The poopsibilities are endless!
Poopsibilities 😭😭😭
Did you scream in hysterics when you received this giant box from the LEGO Ambassador network???
So. So. So. Excited!! It was an insane delivery day. 11 City sets, the Markets, and Pac-Man arrived in the same afternoon. xD
No pink frogs on the small bonsai tree!? Small missed opportunity imo.
Trueeeee 🤣 I'll have to ask the designer what was up with that rather obvious omission
I think I Need to buy it, because i have all of the other Ninjago modular buildings.
Oh nice!
