Coolest thing for me was B-1 + B-2 + B-52 = B-55 and it was Super Bowl 55
Somebody's thinkin'. Clever!
Big brain
and think about how much destruction just those 3 plains can/could do. That is also "mind boggling".
🤩
oops, PLANES, not plains :)
Being retired military seeing the flyovers is always emotional for me. I have had my share of close calls and these pilots no matter what aircraft have and always will have our backs in combat. I am thankful that they are on our side. I have seen up close and personal hat there capable of.
Amen
@@greggarner4477 Except that the American people regardless of party has spent enormous amounts of money developing bombers that will never change the course of history. The B-52 is still in action and well suited to it's original role. The B1 is a shit show, great looking but sub par. The "stealth bomber" has to be actually proven to be stealth. Trillions of your dollars, poured into these projects, why are they flying aircraft decades apart?
@@greggarner4477 Okay so what part of the B2/B1 bomber did you have a part of? Explain...
Thank you for your service Ted Lovell!
Would have been even better had f117 been in there too
I feel like the B-1 just doesn’t get enough credit for how bad ass it is!
low level, high speed, night raids seem dope as hell. but the B-52 is probably 4 times the age of the other aircraft, if anyone is getting recognised its grandpa
It quietly lurks in the background, ready to strike.
@@TheWizardGamez I understand that pilots who flew the B-52s back in the day, have children and grandchildren that actually fly the same bombers. Incredible.
Dan T. Sure, men born in the 1930's first flew the B52 with many generations going bye since then. (saying every twenty years are new births)
everyone talks about the B2 but never about the B1
Hands down the best part of the game.
Honestly I'd stay for the flyover and bounce. Not a football fan. I just love flyovers
The fan on the field was better
3 generations of aircraft, and grandpa is still going to outlive the other 2, the b-52 is an insane airframe, and a testament to good design
Freedom Machines!
The landing gear is the definition of: it’s so complex it just works. They can land in cross winds because the wheels can turn 20 degrees. It’s ridiculous
No kidding, they can land coming in at a 20° angle. I didn't know that, wow.!
Them BUFF's . . . got good BONES ! 🇺🇸
And unbelievable maintenance
My Dad was an Aeronautical Mechanical Engineer who worked on the B-2 Stealth Bomber. I wish that he was still alive and could have seen this very cool Flyover. Well done US Air Force.
Listen to those ole heavies whistle, gives me goosebumps
Seeing this made me proud to be an American,
and I'm not even American.
We hereby make you an honorary American just because you love our country.
@@pleabargn Seconded :P
In the words of a soldier from a hidden camera show: If you're an American, you're an American.
We love you as family, America welcomes you and your respect
As the saying goes....."If you hear them, they missed you!"
Yup.
Not these. They are not fast enough to avoid giving an audible warning. However, they drop enough to make sure you are not outrunning them anyway.
They don't miss though. If you hear them, you weren't the target.
And the ancients thought their "Death Whistle" was badass... but would think our sports are "too soft". Weird how things worked out.
well they are bombers so you would hear them for a second before the bombs drop on you
"It's a good thing they're friendly" is a phrase that comes to mind.
Seeing as they decided to use not one, but three nuclear capable bombers for a super bowl flyover, I'd say so.
IF THAT DOES NOT GIVE YOU GOOSEBUMPS, IT'S SHRINK TIME!!!!!!!!!!
Several leading figures in sports broadcasting have said flyovers need to stop and expect JB to put an end to them.
Well, the deal is of course the U.S. Military uses sports events to target sports-fans (highly competitive young men and women) to give goosebumps to, to trigger them to join the Military...some say good some say bad...
@@martianshoes That is straight up stupid. We pay a ton of money for these amazing machines and we should expect to get to see them. Not like this really cost anything as these crews need the flight hours anyway. It is also an effective form of advertising for the military. The Blue Angels sole purpose is to be an advertising wing. People need to relax and just enjoy. They have to fly anyway so might as well do something neat for people to see.
Officer: Your mission today is to stick a pipe filled with highly flammable fuel into a tiny hole on top of a billion-dollar aircraft while you're both flying several hundred miles an hour, in support of one of the most-watched events in history.
Boom operator: Hold my coffee.
Close, B-2 cost $2 BILLION! And that was in 90's dollars. First time saw B-2 in flight was over Florida 20yrs ago. But yeah get your point, got be scariest job. Hundreds plane accidents(inc many B-52s) happened over the yrs while refueling. Grew up near B-52 Bases, watched many take off over the years from 1960s-1990's.
@@firstsgt279 - I grew up in Dayton OH and the flight path of B-52 and KC-135 on their "Saturday scramble' during the 60's. One Saturday every month at 8:00 a.m. sharp our house would shake as the 4 & 4 made their way out of Wright Patterson AFB in less than 30 minutes. It was absolutely awesome and a true testament of our freedom and air power superiority.
I wouldn't say that it was THE "Most-watched" events in history but is most likely up there.
I was a KC-135 tanker pilot for 14 years. One of the scariest things in my life was going back to the "Boom Pod" to watch some receiver aircraft "students" attempting to make air refueling contacts at night." Boom Operators definitely have "Brass Ones"... even the women.
My Uncle was a Crew Chief on a KC-135 and he told me a story about being in the pod while refueling a B-52 and asking the pilot to show them the centerfold of the Playboy on the dash. Don't know if he was pulling my chain but he told me the story while we were touring Castle AFB's air museum where he retired from and looking at their KC-135 display

Just an amazing collection of aircraft! The bombers are iconic man. B-52 probably my all time favorite!
I thought the B52 was a bomber or do they have more capabilities?
@@wisewordsofall9646 The B-52 is a bomber. They (well, one in particular called Balls 8) were also used as motherships for testing out the D-21 drone, among other things. Also, the wings are so big that they need their own landing gears ;v;
It was the only thing worth watching
I do agree

Just not into political speech during sporting events.

I'm just glad Trump is going to prison soon --- he woulda been there and claimed the flyover was for him LOL

You beat me too it !

i cant get over how they time it just right every time
Time on target...
Sometimes it’s kind of close, but this fly over absolutely nailed it down to the second. Even more so, the target time fluctuates just a little depending on all the other moving pieces.
They have radios to listen in
Yep. They listen live in flight
They're really good! TOT (time over target) is every mission. C-130 aerial deliveries had to be withing +- 30 seconds. These bombers were closer than that. Navigators doing the job!!

Mine too, I worked on the engines on them fir seven years. Loved it
Agreed! Such a beautiful BAD ASS plane!
Beautiful. And such a symbol of concentrated power!
The ordnance payload on any of them could send any major world city to the stone age.
The mere thought about it makes you pause and think for a second!
@Damion Carter Name one.
@Damion Carter You have no idea what your talking about, look at some WWII bombing footage then we can talk again. A few targeted strikes isn't bombing back to the stone age. Where are you from? I assume if Russia or China was the leading power it would be unicorns and rainbows.
USA is a joke with all this "airpower"
@Damion Carter Typical response from a person with out an argument. Come back when you grow up.
@Damion Carter I simple ask you which country the US bombed back to the stone age you said A-stan and Iraq. Neither was bombed back to the stone age. In fact most of the bombs dropped were guided bombs to help deduce damage and injuries. If the US wanted to bomb them to the stone age massive WWII style bombing would have been used. What's your next argument? What country do you want as the leading power? Don't cop out name one.
As a retired USAF veteran this flyover was outstanding and brought back memories of when we used to go US Air Force Academy foot ball games.
