Sadly that wasn’t Dom Perignon that you were served upon boarding. While Emirates are on the ground they serve Moët until they reach cruising altitude and THEN you can get the Dom Perignon. For heavens sake, don’t chug it like that lol, no matter what champagne you’re drinking 😉🤣
I prefer sweet sparking white wine to champagne, and my favourite wine of all is Italian Lambrusco - sweet but not too sweet, and one of the few red wines that has a spritz to it.

me and the Mrs flew Bangkok to Dubai first class on an A380. Economy had been over booked so our business class seats were used by economy passengers and we moved up a notch. My Mrs made good use of the hospitality but i slept until the last hour and indulged in just a bowl of cornflakes much to the bewilderment of the flight attendants. A great experience non the less.

Couldnt justify paying that amount for first class but l did get moved to a first class cabin during the last few hours on a flight a few years ago because l fell ill. I didnt ask for it they offered it to me so l could lie down. It was very sweet of them and it certainly was an extraordinary experience... Emirates really do go above and beyond plus l mostly always travel with them and recognise faces and vice versa 😊

I have flown once in 1989 on a first-class Aeroflot flight from Moscow to Singapore. Drank champagne, and liquor and ate lobster and whatever goodies were there. I bought first class(return) because other seats were sold out and my visa was valid for only 3 weeks and I had to back to Moscow and go back to my university in St. Petersburg. It was not expensive at that time, because I could change dollars 1 to 18 rouble exchange on the Black market(officially 60 kopek for one dollar).

When one pays as much as they do for First Class then yes they do get drinks, better food and chatted up by the ladies. However, at the end of the day one just wants to get from A to B so those who paid much less than those in First Class also got to their destination at the same time as those in First Class. I have experienced First Class for less than the price of Economy, thanks to a friend who works for an airline and gets discounted fares and upgrades when possible.
