I love to bring my powder foundation when traveling. I know I will want something on my face but I feel like powder foundation is easier to apply and I can take it with. Don’t need to wet a sponge etc. Usually having to get ready quicker when traveling. I also enjoy bringing the neutral Elf eyeshadow all matte quad ( forgot the name). And then I like to bring a few single eyeshadows in a small magnetic palette for some pops of color just in case. I don’t need a bunch of palettes when traveling.
My Mother used to tell me " you'll know when you grow into your skin!" Truer words were not spoken. At 63 I am the woman I was attended to be .. Do not fear age! To me it is amazing... 💕
I also love love love this!!! I used to always think, when will I feel like a grown up? I was married, owned a house, was into my career… but still never felt it. Then at 29, I got a divorce, sold that house, moved states…. Met my now husband whom I’ve been with for nearly six years, and it was within a year when I finally felt like an adult. The weirdest thing to me, but then I read your comment and it clicked. I grew into my skin. I am where I am meant to be. 🥺💜💜
I lived in Biloxi, MS for about 10 years and it was a short trip to that whole area. We absolutely loved that whole area around Destin. The water is so clear and blue and not muddy like it is in Biloxi. It was always a great time. I’m a widow now (in Texas) but truly have some fantastic memories of the great times my husband and I had there. Miss it a lot. Thanks for sharing 😘.
I feel like the second I hit 30(I’m newly 35) I was immediately like *”so this is what it feels like to be confident in myself and my life and truly not give one half a thought to those who don’t like how I am…”* it’s liberating
You are wise beyond your years. I have always felt closer to God when in nature and I believe that's what you were feeling on the beach with the heron. I'm 66 and love you and Tyler and your family. You always brighten my day and I'm always excited to see you've posted a new video. I follow Tyler and your new podcast as well. Blessings to you!
I'm 59 now but my mid to late 30s was when I really felt I was a adult and really didn't care what other people thought. It was a wonderful time in my life
I’m 36 almost 37 as I’m getting closer to 40 I keep looking back and I don’t ever and have never felt like an adult , but I am more confident and I’m more comfortable in my life and my body. I guess take that for what it is. We also started our lives earlier than most of our generation though we had our first daughter at 18 and now she is about to turn 18 in 2 weeks. It’s wild to think we have raised a child to adulthood when we just don’t quiet feel like adults but she’s amazing she’s already starting her career so yeah all that rambling to say I love you your videos and your channel ❤️
I just had that moment of feeling like an adult recently. I was at my youngest daughters kindergarten friends birthday party and was talking to the other moms there. They were being overprotective of their kids like all first time moms are and it just hit me. I used to be that mom and now I’m not. I was the mom who isn’t a new mom anymore. I was the one with an older kid who had more experience. I’m more relaxed and confident in my role as a mom and in turn in my own skin. It was surreal honestly. It made me so emotional to realize how far I have come. I felt so much peace in my decision to be a stay at home mom, standing amongst some really cool and professionally successful moms.
Omg I could have written this myself!! I have a 12 year old, 8 year old and 6 year old… stay at home mom, too! And I recently started feeling this way with my youngest kids mom friends. Like I’m the one who they think of as an older, experienced mom even though I had my oldest daughter super young. Crazy!! It really does make you realize you are a real life grown up hahaha
Girl, you’ve got me converted to Missha BB cream. Shade 21 most of the year and shade 23 for summer. It’s affordable with SPF and I get the most compliments on my skin when I wear it. It’s an amazing product.
You’ve been my online best friend for YEARS (like 8-9 years now)! And I’m literally crying because I’m over here in Pensacola and I just barely missed meeting you and Tyler! 😭😂
Grew up in New Orleans and went to Destin every year for Spring Break in high school and college. Now it’s Orange beach & FloraBama. Love that y’all grew up there too! Beach trip makeup is always dewy, SPF, and fun colors. Watercolor area is fantastic too!
Definitely have felt that at certain stages of life. I’m 58 now and each stage brings a new richness and sweetness to life even through hard, sad times❤️God is in the details!
Video idea, and this might be more of a Tyler thing, would love to see a video on some of the logistics of traveling. Specifically what to know about using VRBO, AirBNB, etc. Services to make the stay easier and more comfortable, info on best way to get around at a destination, what to see, etc.
It was so wonderful having dinner with you, Tyler, and your sweet girls! 💖 I'm so glad you had such a wonderful time on your trip, and we can't wait to see y'all again soon! ✨️
Isn’t it fun to see how your kids grow and change from trip to trip!! I love that y’all have traveled with the girls every since they were babies. Our kids’ best memories are from traveling and they are 16 and 11❤
My husband is in the Air Force and we got to live in PCB for 3 years and then moved over to the Destin area for another 3 years! We loved it there. We’re from Ohio and my family was a Myrtle Beach family. Once I saw the beautiful beaches of the panhandle, I felt like my parents really messed up! Haha
What a beautiful experience!! You have someone in spirit who was visiting you, I believe ♥️. I’m a little younger than you, but I can already start to feel what you’re talking about. I’m so excited for my 30s.
Thank you. Had a not great doctor's appt today (nothing close to what other people deal with) and I needed something to feel good about. This is perfect!
I absolutely love that you have introspection. I am much older and have been through a lot of the things you learn about your place in this sometimes crazy world.
I’ve been to Pensacola and Destin Florida. Went snorkeling it’s so beautiful the water clear and the sand is like flour. Love it there. I lived in Bradenton and Homestead area growing up before moving to south Texas.
I live in the Florida Panhandle! I live north of Seaside. It’s true about locals staying away from Destin to Panama City Beach from March to September. During those times we go to the springs. We actually try to get our errands done before the check in/out times, you can see a flux of traffic around 10am going north and 2pm going south. Happy you had a great time! This area is beautiful.
I grew up going to Destin a couple times a year and even staying in the Sandestin resort and hanging out in Baytowne. It feels so nostalgic to hear you talk about it.
Seaside was my families go to vacation spot growing up! We always rented a house with our friends and would stay for a couple weeks at a time! So glad you enjoyed it I have the best memories from there:)
I used to live in Panama City for 12 years and I miss the summers there. I have so many great memories of tubing and hanging with friends. I’m so glad you and your family were able to take some time for yourselves. Love your earrings by the way, they are super cute!
Watching you in your air b&b with the beachy vibes is making me crave summertime! I live in FL (Tampa) so summertime is filled with beach trips! Spring break is too wild and crazy- we steer clear of the beach then lol
I will always pack my NARS Tinted Moisturizer when I’m going on a trip. It’s just a fail-safe, looks great in any climate, and always makes my face feel refreshed and plump. 💛
Hi Jesscia great vlog and I hope you and your family had a great time in Florida. I am turning 60 yrs old this year and it’s weird because I feel like i should be this adult but inside I still feel like a kid. My parents have both passed and I still feel like a kid. My daughter is leaving for college and graduating from high school and I still feel like a kid. I’m actually happy that I feel like this! My husband and I take trips now alone and we have th best time of our lives! You will find that too! You and your husband are grounded and will have that also! ❤
Oh wow! I was at Sephora the other day to see if they had the brown Mario liner and decided to pick up the tiramisu one from Sephora collection on a whim! I love it!!
Seaside is my FAV!! Mostly for the Grits A ya-ya (shrimp & grits) & keylime pie from Great Southern Cafe. I hate grits..... but omg.... that dish is sooooo good. They also make killer mojitos!
We stayed in Seaside last summer for the first time. We are from AZ, we usually visit CA for the beach so this was so different for us. We loved it. And also went to Baytown Wharf- my girls (ages 7, 9, and 11) loved it! Destin and Seaside is beautiful. I’d love to go back
I’m a few years older than you, firmly set in my career and I do feel confident in myself and my ability…but some times I still look around for help and even some days I don’t want some of the responsibilities of being an adult that has to take care of myself and also take care of others. In those moments I know to breath and trust myself to take the next step. 30A is the area where Seaside and Watercolors are and it’s such a beautiful area. Panama City is just down 98 from there. We love going out there for food and then to walk around the tree lined streets. I’ve lived in the panhandle for the past 12 years and have only gone to the beach once 😂 . As a local, ALWAYS pay attention to the warning flags at the beach for swimming conditions. We were in Destin last weekend to see a movie and the Sephora there is moving into a building twice the size and I’m so excited about all the new brands that will be available in store. We love to go down to that area for shopping, food, and to walk around, BUT the busy season is frustrating. That is the down side to living in a vacation town. Glad that you and your family enjoyed your trip. ❤
We took a family summer vacation to Destin in the 90s. Our son was 12 and loved driving a dune buggy there. Love their beaches. Memories! I just ordered that fold out makeup bag in the basket weave pattern. I chose orange because I thought it looked like summer! ⛱️
From Wisconsin- Growing up we never went on vacations but I’ve gone to Destin and the surrounding areas & Panama City beach as an adult. My friends always went to Florida for the winter in the 90’s. I was so jealous 😄
Oh my gosh!! I know exactly where you are.. I grew up in pensacola( for a little while), my mom grew up there, and we still visit there! My great grandmother’s house is part of a tour. She passed and the museum next door, bought it. It was a colonials home back in the early 1900’s. like 12 rooms, a huge kitchen, etc. It was really sad to see the house as a tour site:( I used to play in there😂❤. Anyway, thank you for the memories🙏🏽😘
I'm only 27, but this is the year I've absolutely noticed time moving way faster then it used to. Listen to your other videos say to soak up all the time now is a good reminder to me to just live in the moment 💓
Jessica, try the Sephora waterproof gel liner, I think it blends better, but once it's down it stays put. Seriously best thing I have found that doesn't smear at all on me.
I’m a Hoosier myself and our place was always Destin/ Fort Walton area and St Pete/ Clearwater and Orlando ❤loved the Heron story. I’m 42 my kids are now older and one of the best things I have come to learn and accept in life so far is the saying “ it is well with my soul” Sometimes it best not to overthink.. just live in the moment. I think that’s what the heron wanted to remind you. ❤
We love it here in the Destin area! Have lived here almost 8 years now and no plans to ever move back to our home state. I’m so glad y’all got to visit and enjoy a nice little beach vacation (in spite of the bouts of cold while you were here). ☺️❤️
I live in Alabama and we always went to Panama City Beach growing up. My husband’s family always went to Gulf Shores Alabama. I prefer PCB, but this year it’s Gulf Shores for us. My in laws are renewing their vows for their 50th anniversary on the beach in Gulf Shores. I believe I was in my 30’s, I’m 42 now, when I really felt like I had found myself. I was happy with who I was and I didn’t really care what anyone else thought. That was huge for me because I was always a people pleaser and so worried about what someone thought of me or may have said about me. It was so liberating to not care about that anymore!!
Seaside is one of the best places to stay! They used to (and still might) have a row of food trucks that were all in old airstream campers. There is one of my favorite restaurants ever called Great Southern Cafe and I can recommend some amazing coffee if y’all go stay! Also, some really great farmers markets in the surrounding area!
Fellow Hoosier that grew up going to Destin 👋 and that Heron story was beautiful.. I had a similar-ish experience once with a deer 🖤 also.. there’s a term my friend uses when something is like “all the way” or the next level - like when you were talking about being an official adult. It’s a “full-blowner” 😂
I am from Jordan currently living in Libya really enjoying your videos and love how much you travel and how much your girls get to experience.. Inspiring ❤
Fun fact- Seaside is one of the first modern planned communities in the country! That’s why it’s so lovely and walkable. Also you talking about the Destin area makes me so happy! My grandparents had a condo my whole life in SanDestin and I remember when Baytown Wharf opened. Next time y’all visit, I highly recommend actually eating at the Donut Hole- definitely get there early and definitely check out the giant sweet potato pancakes!
Oh yay, you went to my most favorite part of the world! I grew up vacationing in Grayton Beach, just down the road from Seaside. We literally watched Seaside being built. We go for the 4th of July, so fun! It used to be such a ghost town but people have discovered it for sure.
I just visited Florida for the first time last week. My best friend moved to St. Augustine last summer and I got to see her new stomping grounds. You would absolutely love it there!!
I grew up in north and central Florida and vacationed in Fort Walton Beach every year, it’s so gorgeous over there! My husband and kids and I now live in South Carolina, but we never go to the SC beaches, we do day trips to New Smyrna or Cocoa sometimes when visiting family because those beaches are only an hour from them, but in my opinion the Panhandle is so much better than the Atlantic coast. Glad y’all enjoyed your time there!
I’m from north Alabama and we go to the panhandle two times a year. All my college beach trips were there. Filled with tons of memories. Never a bad time.
I love these travel get ready with me videos. I always bring my touch n sol no poreblem primer. I'm sure there are others, but I can't think of other specific items right now
Living in country (Denmark) with the ocean on almost all side makes me so happy. I can't say i ever had a beach vacation in my own country, but i love to hear about other peoples :)
I'm 48, and I wouldn't say there was ever a moment when I felt "like an adult" :P However I have definitely felt the seasons in my life change. There's a period when you know a certain phase is ending and a new phase is beginning - and that can feel intimidating, or you can embrace it.
Yes, another Hoosier, that vacationed in the pan handle, we spent all our breaks at my grandparents house in Milton and would drive over to Pensacola and surrounding areas almost every day. I always loved those vacations!!!
Thanks for sharing your experience! I went to Destin Florida as a teen and it was the best time and memories I have. 😌 very beautiful sunsets and rises there
I'm in Georgia and we always did the Florida panhandle. The whole 30A area (Watercolor, Rosemary, Seaside) has grown so much in the past 5 years. It is beautiful but overwhelming during the busy season.
Destin beaches are like no other!! White-sand beaches, gorgeous blue green water! I used to live between there & Ft Walton for almost 20 years, my kid was born there. I moved all the way to Minnesota 6 years ago today actually!! Idk if y'all are still there but if so- I recommend eating at McGuire's Pub in Destin, and exploring Baytowne Wharf in Sandestin! Aww, so many memories are flooding back now. How cool that today is the 6-yr anniversary of the day I arrived here from FL, and now I have all these flashbacks thx to your video!! Hope y'all have/had a fantastic vacation!! 🖤 ETA: LOL guess I should have watched the whole video before leaving my suggestions 😆
I use a Sonia Kashuk pencil makeup case for my brushes when I travel. I’ve had it forever and I use it daily because I usually do my makeup in the car before work-so my travel makeup is my tried and true everyday makeup.
My husband and I got married in Pensacola, but stayed at The Pearl hotel in Rosemary Beach on our wedding night. We took our wedding photos (just the two of us) the next day at Alys Beach/Rosemary Beach. It was perfection! So glad you guys enjoyed the area🤗
Than you for talking about your spiritual experience and beliefs. So many people won’t. We all love your grwm and chats. Ps, I saw herons for the first time in Turks and Caicos and honestly it was the most beautiful place. It’s a really big trip but you would love it. Water is an impossible turquoise and 80 degrees. I felt like I was in a magical place that shouldn’t exist.
Jessica! I have been to all of these places you have mentioned!! The Baytown Warf is in the middle of Sandestin Resort and they host a lot of business conventions. My husband and I have gone there for CPA conventions year after year. It’s so funny that you just discovered Seaside 🤗 It’s like a whole thing in the South where all the basic rich families go on vacation. I’m so glad you got to explore these new places! It was stunning hearing you talk about places where I know exactly what you’re talking about🤯😋 Next time you go to Sandestin, go get dinner at Marlin Grill 🤤
Whenever I travel, I always pack a carry-on so I typically pack multi-use products, or minimal makeup. For me I always take my Flawless filter (travel size) and ELF bite size palette. I usually don’t wear foundation on vacation, just concealer, so the flawless filter helps even out my skin tone and gives me a glow.
I’ve lived in north central Florida my whole life, and our vacation spot growing up was Disney! I had family that worked for the park and family that worked at the Dolphin, so we always got in and stayed for free.
Growing up in Chicago, we would also flee to FL. But mostly the Ft Myers area. We still have a place on Marco Island. And yes, I do believe in signs, and sounds like you’re at a tipping point in your life, where you’re on to the next chapter. Enjoy the journey!
My husband and I have a vacation planned for end of April to the Destin area. We are staying on the resort where Baytown is. I’ve been so nervous that it wouldn’t be warm enough to enjoy the beach at the end of April. So glad to hear you guys got beach time in!
What makeup do you always bring when you travel?
I always bring my supergoop face sunscreen (thanks to your recommendation ☺️)
Paula’s Choice tinted sunscreen, Blistex 5 Star SPF 30, Elf Love You Latte and the Elf Instant Lift brow pencil, and PH Butter Dream Team palette. :)
Everything! 😉 Gotta have a full face when going out to dinner.

Part of what your feeling is parenthood, you have gotten your life to a comfortable ( in a good way) point and it feels good.
The Chanel Water fresh tint! It’s so effortless, a bit of coverage but the plumpness of skin is just magical, I feel you would love it!

From Wisconsin- Growing up we never went on vacations but I’ve gone to Destin and the surrounding areas & Panama City beach as an adult. My friends always went to Florida for the winter in the 90’s. I was so jealous 😄
For the brush cases you can get two in different shades - one large for face brushes and one small for the eye brushes. Works great! xoxo
HI from the Panhandle! I'm watching from Wakulla, south of Tallahassee. Grew up in Panama City Beach and Pcola. I'm so glad y'all enjoyed your trip!
You got me hooked on the Misscha BB Cream, it's a staple now in my makeup bag, daily and for travel :)
I live in Alabama and Ft Walton is where we took our Senior trip and we did Gulf Shores alot. Of course the Coast is half the drive for us. 😃
I’m 42 my kids are now older and one of the best things I have come to learn and accept in life so far is the saying “ it is well with my soul”
Sometimes it best not to overthink.. just live in the moment.
I live near Panama City beach and frequent these areas often! I hope you all had a great trip!
Growing up in Minnesota our summer vacations were always at the different lakes around the state. No ocean beaches for us.
Midwesterner here from Michigan. We never went to FL panhandle growing up, but I know loooots of friends/family that did and still do!
I'm 48, and I wouldn't say there was ever a moment when I felt "like an adult" :P However I have definitely felt the seasons in my life change. There's a period when you know a certain phase is ending and a new phase is beginning - and that can feel intimidating, or you can embrace it.
The lighting in this video, ong 😍😍
ETA: LOL guess I should have watched the whole video before leaving my suggestions 😆
My Mac Face and Body foundation goes with me everywhere! Never lets me down and layers so well with other products.
I always bring my bobbi brown corrector in light bisque. It makes me look less dead and I can wear it without foundation.
🤣 that's exactly how I describe using the bobbi brown corrector stick. To throw on to look less dead when I'm not wearing foundation. ☺
I use a Sonia Kashuk pencil makeup case for my brushes when I travel. I’ve had it forever and I use it daily because I usually do my makeup in the car before work-so my travel makeup is my tried and true everyday makeup.
I'm from the Midwest and I LOVE Destin!! It feels so magical down there, it's hard to explain. Now I wanna go back Jess 😂
Yes Destin and Panama City beach are very popular spring break destinations where I grew up in GA! Just went last year:)
Your heron story has given me goose bumps!
Two of my favorite things on UA-cam - Jessica and
a “what’s in my makeup bag” video!! ☺️
It was stunning hearing you talk about places where I know exactly what you’re talking about🤯😋
Next time you go to Sandestin, go get dinner at Marlin Grill 🤤
Whenever I travel, I always pack a carry-on so I typically pack multi-use products, or minimal makeup. For me I always take my Flawless filter (travel size) and ELF bite size palette. I usually don’t wear foundation on vacation, just concealer, so the flawless filter helps even out my skin tone and gives me a glow.
We love Seaside!!! So glad you got to visit!
I’ve lived in north central Florida my whole life, and our vacation spot growing up was Disney! I had family that worked for the park and family that worked at the Dolphin, so we always got in and stayed for free.
I bought that Sephora liner today. You have good liner recs! I bought Loreal le liner bc of you too. That's also a good one!
I live in SC but I have family in Pensacola so we visit often. Great place for families!
Did you know that the cap of the Naturium sunblock has little dip to perfectly measure enough sunscreen for your face and neck?
Totally just here to say that my family and I stay on that same stretch of beach when we visit family out there, and I *love* it!
We visited Pensacola Beach when we lived in MS. Really enjoyed it. The FL panhandle is probably my favorite areas of FL.
We just went to rosemary beach and loved it!!
I always bring the L’Oréal Amber rush eyeshadow and benefit roller lash mascara. I also love missha bb cream. So good!
Pensacola, Florida is my favorite beach. Navarre beach specifically ❤
Makeup forever powder foundation! It sets makeup amazing but also can be worn on its own. That will come with me forever!
