Ash is the best replacement Revocation could've hoped for. His drumming on the new record makes me not miss Phil as much.
Musa Tariq Truth dude.
Musa Tariq I feel the same.
Both had different vibes to them. I miss Phil but Ash has what Revocation wants and that makes me happy
Phil is more technical but not as precise and consistent as Ash
...aaaaaaand he's gone
Rush T-Shirt = RESPECT!!! lol
Great precision. Also, those cymbals sound gorgeous.
RIP crowd
Sick!!!
The drums sounds freakin amazing
I NEED THAT PHONE CLAMP UNDER THE HI HAT IN MY LIFE OMG
Love this band ... hey Ash, I have the same t-shirt :D ... much love!!!
Strapping a gopro to any part of a drum kit is a terrible idea
Doggerman Live You must be new here...
Jesse Bowles dude, they have to be strapped either to a stable section or a separate stand, that's how it's done
I do agree on that, making it so it doesnt move. It can be challenging sometimes on a time crunch but I also agree.
Eh, I kinda like the sense of intensity it gives the video with a little camera shake. I will agree that this video was a bit excessive, but the killer audio made up for the seasickness.
@@oleksiispitsyn7139 on the contrary, it's all about feeling the kit move from the beatdown it's getting.
Even the go pros are headbanging
Lili and the crew killing it these days!
Thank you Burn. We keep experimenting with camera mounting methods and sound capture. Also, special guest editors.
Amazing
I'm 33 years old now and I've been going to metal shows for almost 20 years now...there are some seriously amazing metal bands out now like Revocation, but what happened to good crowds? People don't mosh at all anymore...standing around is still better than the hxc ninja dancing fad from like a decade ago but crowds overall used to know how to let loose and have fun. Even the ninja dancers created interesting fights between straight edgers and drunk metal heads. Fuck, I'm old.
Denver does have wild mosh pits. At the Summit Theatre, they are in middle of the main floor that is fairly dark, so you will not usually see them in the video.
***** Yeah fuck those kids man. I saw Darkest Hour live in 2004, those guys are a hardcore band for the most part and even the vocalist was saying, "Hey guys, we want everyone to have a good time, but when you do that in the crowd, it just causes bullshit drama, so lets just do an old school circle pit" They didn't listen. So DH sent in their merch guy which was this like 6 foot 6 swedish looking dude and he would just put his arms out wide and walk right up to these kids and take all the hits like it was nothing. When they would try to do it again he would just keep pushing towards them and they couldn't do shit. Later I went to buy their album and said thanks for regulating the pit and he was super thankful. Later we found out those kids went and slashed the bands bus tires because they were so butthurt about them not being cool with ninja dancing. Their so stupid they didn't even take advice from one of the original hardcore bands.
We have deathcore fans here in Wichita KS? I never knew that. I guess they're keeping themselves in their little hidey holes or something.
I think it’s due to the music (for the most part) being more technical than back then. I believe people want to experience the whole song and hear the nuances that would be lost if you were flailing around the whole time. But that’s just my thought, s’probably wrong, maybe fans have lost their edge lol
I'm pushing 40, been gong to metal shows since my first obituary concert in the 90's. The Revocation show the other night in Portland made me realize it's time to retire lol. That crowd nearly cracked my ribs twice. We tore it up, but yeah, I think I'm done lol.
He has an interesting style, keeps his wrists low
hell ya rush shirt!
Am I the only one who noticed that the doublebass part is kind of sloppy? Overall performance is 5/5. Great drumming anyways!
His pedal beater's look like apples
It sucks you had to play for a crowd of zombies. We'd have had that whole floor circle pitting.
Dragging a little bit on the kicks but solid and enjoyable otherwise
I really thought: "These initial kicks seems a bit slower than studio." But I thought it was just my first impression.
Slighly true
What a fucking beast!
Rush shirt spotted
crispy
Performs way better live than their previous drummer imo
gotta disagree, phil was a monsterrrr
@@xXXExiledXXx yeah I liked his creativity but I felt like he wasn't always consistent live
Seen them multiple times with ash and Phil and I agree ash is a lot cleaner. Phil was a genius composer with his drum parts. Also helps to write cook drums when you play with a guitarist like Dave whose amazing rhythmically
What snare drum is he using?
i think it is this one... not sure thought www.thomann.de/gr/tama_pbr146_starphonic_brass.htm
Is this what it sounds like to a drummer when you are playing live? You can't hear a damn thing anyone else is doing!
Craig Brown yep, that's exactly what it sounds like😅
He probably gets a little guitar and vox in his monitors to help him out
Not really, this video was made so you can hear mainly the kit. In reality they're using in ear monitors so they can hear the other musicians. In rehearsal where most of the time I don't use in ear monitors, I can hear my band members pretty well.
METAL BALDE RECORDS
Doesnt seem likes hes enjoying much
He had to learn to a lot of songs, and Revo songs are not easy
what a weak crowd. shit was nuts when i saw them at summer slaughter a few years ago, they deserve better
Phil Dubois is better! another level
Yeah, kicks are not quite tight...
yeah neither are your opinions.
Just listen. It's not that hard to hear they are not in time and they drag behind. That is not an opinion, and if you think it is, you need to get your ears checked or just get some musical education. Bye.
He was band new when this video was filmed, give him a break. Phil is not an easy drummer to fill the shoes of.
@@rippindrummer666 This was actually one of Ash's songs.
@ MarsHolst20 who the fuck are you to talk about anything metal drumming related? Get back to playing awful doja cat covers
Very solid drummer. Wish it was Rudinger behind the kit, but Ash is the next best thing imo
Would be great if you could include a run-down of the drummer's setup in these videos. Pretty please!
a lot of positive comments, so that makes me wonder, was anyone listening to his bass hits? not quite 16ths.
And yeah Rudinger was good for Revo, but Phil was the man, you can't deny that
Brody Smith you mean heal toe?
Brody Smith yeah but, people are faster than Phil with just singles.
Brody Smith ttrrruuueeee
Yeah it wasn't super accurate at times
He's playing sextuplets with the feet during those fast runs, basically 16th note triplets. You can tell by the ride pattern he's playing up top over it.
He is good.
These mans drums are orgasmic sounding
Do the bozzoz in the crowd realise they are at a metal show, seen better pits at Celine Dion, ffs.
That tama bb kit sounds so fuckin punchy and amazingggggg.
the sound almost fkin blew my ears up....
Beast 🤘
SOLID.
Why isn't anyone moshing?
Travis Astalos Im wondering the same thing! At Houston date the pit was pretty huge during their set!
Trey Saenz bunch of pussies in Denver I guess.
