  • The transmission gear oil was ready to change out in my pathfinder. raising it up 2 inches up on pavers helped. With it no being to high it was nice laying on my back without having to reach too far.
I will get a new tripod for my camera so it can so I can use it lower to the ground.
Here are some other fluid changes I just did on my Pathfinder.

So I'm the proud owner of a 94 same color same model and it's next to impossible to find maintenance videos for this little truck. I've subscribed and liked and I'm happy to know I'm not the only guy out there trying to keep one of these in the road. They're great little trucks and look better than any of the newer models. The only issues I've had is the starter location, that replacement had me saying a few bad words, the oil filter placement couldn't be in a sillier position, but other than that great vehicle.

the 4x4 transmissions actually had a tsb to overfill the transmission fluid because the original fluid capacity was not enough to properly lubricate the gears

just subscribed here, like your video and wondering about oil leak around the engine and change it (gasket possibly)

      Thanks 777Timberwolf.
I wish you the best of luck on locating your engine leak. Years ago my engine was leaking oil also. It turned out to be the rear main seal. I had the clutch replaced at the same time "over my personal interest level". Sence then the clutch has been great and I am not leaking a drop of oil.
I have no idea if this is were your oil leak is comming from. I can say no other gaskets have been replaced and I have heard this is a common issue for all 90's Pathys.
      Happy Saturday! 🙂

@@jonathanreinke9392 Thank you. The reason why I asked because I found a1994 Nissan Pathfinder for sale and was tempting to trade my 1993 Nissan truck hard body. So the seller mentioned "oil leaking around the motor".

      Cool upgrade!
When I took my 1995 in for an inspection to a good shop they trouble shooted the oil leak before the repair. Some local shops do not charge or charge little for a prebuyers inspection as they may be getting a lot of work from it.
Is the 1994 you are looking at also a manual? If it is a rear main seal a new clutch can last you 150,000 miles or more.
Still ... fixing an oil leak can be elusive and expensive. Probably only worth it if you love all things done to it ... wheels, lift, stereo, you like the color, ext. A stock 1994 Pathy with a oil leak may not be the smartest next vehicle? 🤔
Although I have owned my 95 Pathy for almost 19 years and it has been such an affordable vehicle to own ... so well built and reliable ... many forever vehile parts that will almost never wear out! 😊
Give me a shout out on what you end up gitting. 🙂

i have one from 1987 i believe its time to change the gear oil, does it also needs to be changed for the reductor? (the tiny shifter)

    • @jonathanreinke9392

      Thanks for the question.
I am not sure what a reductor is? Do you know if the reductor is also called a transfor caise? If so, I did also change that. The trasfor caise fluid has not been changed in awhile before this video but it did not apear to be needing a change. Still I am glad I changed it.

I just changed my gear oil on my 95 Nissan hardbody and takes gl4 but no one has it not even warehouses my dads friend has a 91 and put gl5 80w90 in his and it’s working fine so I hope since I did the same oil as him it’ll be ok and not ruin anything. O Riley’s also says it supersedes gl4 to gl5 so I hope they’re right
