It’s very specific, but for the other viewers out there: In Sentinels a target is anything with HP, while a character is the main target of a particular deck. So the villain character is Baron Blade. The hero characters are Unity, Tachyon, and Legacy. Unity’s robots are hero targets but not hero characters. Same with Captain Cosmic’s constructs.
Thanks! Great playthrough! Love seeing people first learning about Sentinels and getting excited about it. As I said in another comment, it's my No. 1 game of all time. My wife and I are approaching our 200th play of Definitive Edition alone. I was prepared to strongly recommend you get the Rook City Renegades expansion (I probably rate it a 9.5 out of 10 ... a stellar expansion). But I see you already have it. I look forward to seeing a playthrough with RCR stuff included (assuming you do one). 😁
Great playthrough! Fun to see alternate versions of Tachyon and Unity. Btw when Legacy and Baron Blade deal damage to one another, it is +1 because they are nemeses. (Not sure if someone else mentioned that in other comments) When those symbols match heroes/villains, it’s another twist in this fantastic game!
Nice! Ive just recently got this and the expansion too, and like you, i didnt gel with the original box set, but am enjoying this one a lot :D Im so glad i dont have to construct decks like in Marvel Champions!
Thanks for the playthrough. Such a fun game! Since you liked playing Tachyon, you should take her against her Nemesis, The Matriarch, from the Rook City box since you're taking suggestions.
In our house, Sentinels of the Multiverse has been a favorite game for years. Core box, a few of the core-box-sized expansions, a few single-character expansions, the enormous tombstone-sized store-everything box. So we're going to take a hard pass on buying everything twice, but the definitive edition looks fantastic -- the silver-age four-color art is wonderful. Folks just getting into Sentinels now are some lucky ducks. 😁
I'd reccomend playing Wraith some more; she can do TONNES of damage. She's got one Power that does 3 damage, one that does 1 to 3 targets, then her Smoke Bombs not only negate damage for everyone, but also give her +1 damage till her next round. She also has another card that allows her to do +2 projectile damage. And *then* there's Inventory Barrage, which lets her deal damage equal to the number of Item cards she discards ×2. And *that's* projectile too. She also has plenty of cards that allow her to get a massive hand and lots of items into play easily, so it's not hard to build her into a damage fiend. Bur such is the nature of the game. With 40 card decks you will often see completely different cards and combos in different playthroughs, and ways to best play them will evolve over time.
@MeetMeAtTheTable Awesome. That's how I feel with this game. I play it once, and I often feel compelled to play it again. Either because I love a particular hero combo and want to try them against different Villains, Environments and Events, or because I want to try the same Event, Villain and Environment with different Hero combos. I'd gotten out of playing it solo (to try and play other games more) for a bit after finally getting some friends into it. But *that* has now backfired, as whenever we lose, it makes me want to try the same set-up and beat it solo. And if we win, I often then play with the heroes I would have picked instead (since we are doing a campaign through the core box and Rook City Renegades Events in chronological order, and they don't have my obsession with using "canon" heroes). The modularity of this game is both amazing and apparently my bane in terms of playing other games.
This game exists somewhere in my like, top 7 or so favorites. Wait until you dive in to some of the more complex characters like Absolute Zero and Bunker, all good stuff! I wish I could get the game out more often, but some bosses can take upwards of 2+ hours, plus the overhead you have to manage throughout the game can be tough, which are all things that prevent this from hitting my table more often. It's definitely better as a coop than solo for my tastes. Maybe you can convince Bairnt to play it some time on a live stream haha.
Thanks for this playthrough. I love that game! I'm still waiting for Freedom Five to be delivered but I'm curious to hear if you have a preference between the two since you've played both.
I hope yours shows up soon! I think it all depends on what your are looking for! This one seems much more streamlined but a card game. The other uses a board and a comic like story. I think ill prefer this one for me as I really enjoy card game and it isn't as long as Freedom Five!
As far as the interaction between Hypersonic Assault and Baron Blade flipping, there’s a whole thing about that in the kickstarter for Disparation. Basically there’s a villain who has a different name on side a versus side b (Miss Information). In THAT case, she would lose any persistent modifiers because she’s flipping into a different character. When Baron Blade (and basically every other villain) flips, they’re still the same character so they keep any persistent modifiers except those that are printed on one side. In other words, he wouldn’t have dealt damage. I understand the critique people have with the amount of tracking in Sentinels and that’s certainly an example of it. I love it because it resolves things in a procedural way. It’s one of my top 2 games of all time. The other being Renegade’s Guardian System line (Power Rangers, GI Joe). Though I am super excited to get Primal: the Awakening and Leviathan Wilds when those fulfill 😊
@@MeetMeAtTheTableI think EVERYONE misses that interaction because most of the Heroes don’t have additional targets to affect so they don’t have to pay attention to what Legacy’s ability says.
It depends what is the source of the damage. If it says Unity deals the damage, it’ll get boosted. If it says the non-character target deals the damage it won’t
FYI: Legacy’s base power only boosts hero CHARACTERS. So not Unity’s bots. Only Unity herself.
Same with Inspiring Presence
I looked this one up and from what I was reading they are impacted as they are ally characters. Do you have an official ruling on that?
It clearly states Ally characters not hero characters
It’s very specific, but for the other viewers out there: In Sentinels a target is anything with HP, while a character is the main target of a particular deck. So the villain character is Baron Blade. The hero characters are Unity, Tachyon, and Legacy. Unity’s robots are hero targets but not hero characters. Same with Captain Cosmic’s constructs.
Also, as everything in Sentinels is flavor-forward, Legacy can’t inspire robots or constructs. They don’t have emotions!
This is one of my top 5 games. I love it. I think you gave us one of the best playthroughs!!!
Alain that is awesome!!!! Thank you so much for watching and for being a part of our KDM Campaign!

200?! Holy moly!! I am pumped to try the expansion as well!! Thanks so much for watching and commenting!!
Great video. Thank you.
Appreciate you watching!! So much fun even if I pumped up those bots too much haha!!
Stay viligent, Sentinel Colin! :) Such a fun game! You made me want to play again right NOW.
Yes yes yes!! Was hoping that would happen!!!
Going to be exciting!!!!! What a good game!
Whoot whoot!! Thank you so much for watching!!

Yup I think i did that! It was only non baron blade attacks that did not get plus 1. Love this game excited to play another scenario!!

Yes being able to use decks right from the box is SO NICE!! HAHA Thanks so much for watching and really excited to try the expansion!!

Ok that sounds like a GREAT idea!!!

That would be me haha! I hear you on repurchasing, felt this with LOTR!!
I like to call the giant-holds-everything box The Block, after the game environment! 😄

@christopherdean1738 hahaha!! That is totally get! I think that's a sign that this game is perfect for you!!
@@MeetMeAtTheTable Oh, absolutely.
@MeetMeAtTheTable If you want a *really* challenging playthrough, I suggest Advanced Omnitron and the Singularity Event.

Love this game, ended up replacing my Marvel Champions collection with it :p Thanks for the playthrough!
I can see why! No need to deckbuild and yet still cool super hero abilities!!
Whos for favorite character? Mines is Nightmist, and i love playing with Dark Watch. My first advanced game is going to be Gloomweaver vs Dark Watch.
Oh so cool!!! I can't wait to try these characters! Are they in the expansion?
@@MeetMeAtTheTable Rook City Renegades: Nightmist, Mr Fixer, Setback, Expatriette, and The Harpy
@octaviustyree8899 yes!!!!!
@MeetMeAtTheTable my comment about the Lore on the Freedom Five video: there's 3 iterations of lore; Tactics, The Card Game, and The RPG.
@MeetMeAtTheTable no favorite character yet?
