that's also what I like to think. I think in one of the books the process was described as "grueling." Frankly its a miracle he was able to survive removing his brain.
I think 16th knew his purpose, and was disgusted by that. That's why he didn't responded to Goku's greeting during Cell Games positively. He was restraining himself and defying his father's vendetta at the same time.
His father was still human during Android 16’s development process. This was built first, and laid dormant. The insights of a grieving fathers memory for 16’s human personality must have been purposefully coded into making the distinction of a son’s disgust at his father’s life obsessions when meeting Goku for itself to conclude, by dr.Gero himself. Dr Gero may have trusted 16 to make the right same decision his deceased son would have made, when or if that time came. The doctor also must have been acutely aware of his own mind beginning to slip into madness and knew the loss of his own grasp from humanity was inevitable over his long transitioning period becoming Android 20. I only say this because 16 was completely artificial and drGero never coded anything by accident or left the few things he could control through literal genius to chance, mistake or for no consequence. The way I think about it, his biggest fear was his own artificially enhanced biological weapons couldn’t completely be removed from the freedoms of human level self consciousness. Yet built an artificial intelligent machine on the behalf of his son’s image coded with the human freedom for self expression. The bomb within 16’s chest was created to specifically implode any singly targeted biological life form to absolution when deemed necessary. Including Perfect Cell. Android 16 was Dr.Gero’s last redeeming human quality. Cell was his worst.

Just wanted to make a point about the Metallitron. I think the gag is that we the readers know Metallitron is a robot, but goku does not. Thus he is surprised by metallitron shooting a missile from his mouth and this affects his reaction, rather than it being a special missile. This interaction also happens before taopaipai. I'm not sure if goku had ever kicked a projectile like that at this point in the manga. Love your content, its quite provocative, keep going !
I like to imagine that Gero started out wanting to make advanced cybernetic prosthetics but lacked funding, so he joined the RRA to get the funds to develop this Unfortunately for him and all of the Android's victims his son got Goku'd and sent the good doctor into a revenge spiral
8ighter has to be partially organic like 17 or 18 because he's shown giving Genki to the Spirit bomb to help defeat kid Buu... Genki is Spirit energy, pure machines don't have Genki....
In my headcanon, Dr Gero got funding from turning Mercenary Tao into a cyborg. Mercenary Tao accepted a job from the Red Ribbon army that seemed like his "normal pay" of 5 billion Zenni, and in the 23rd Budokai Tenkaichi, Cyborg Tao said something on the lines that "it cost him a whole lot of Zenni."
When I was watching through the Dragon Ball series recently, I had completely forgotten that Dr. Flap was a different guy and thought he _was_ Dr. Gero. It made me very confused as to how that sweet old dude being forced to make robots at gunpoint turned into a complete megalomaniac.

Im probably going to watch literally the everything you post. Youre just doing a great job. Idc how accurate you are, youre still providing sources if i did want to form my own opinion. Youre cool.
The robot Goku fought in the pirates cave could have been made by Gero. It's design is somewhat similar to the robot above the 3 capsule in the imagined flashback of the androids.
Personal theory: Gero wanted to replace humanity with biomechanical life like Cell. Most of his androids are humanoid, he turned himself into an android and 17 and 18 are cyborgs that still have their reproductive organs and were later planned to power Cell, his "perfect life form." It seems he wants to make his machines more lifelike. and with the belief that 16 and the non-cannon 21 are molded after his son and wife, it makes this idea a bit sad.
If only Gero would have categorized his creations better, because its kind of crazy that he designates as Androids not only the fully mechanical beings, but also the ones that are modified humans such as himself and Lapis and Lazuli, which should technically be designated as cyborgs instead, which is why I cannot blame Cell for not knowing if he could absorb 16 or not, just because 17 and 18 were designated as Androids.
You forgot to mention that 19 and 20 were originally going to be the androids from the future. But his editor looked at them and said WTF. So they made 17 and 18.
You got a lot of your information wrong on Androids 17 & 18. In regards to the original manga in Dragon Ball chapter 365, It's stated that #17 & #18 are only enhance via bio-organic components, thus only their organic matter has been reconstructed. It's also stated it's because they're entirely organic why Cell can fuse with them. Their only few tiny cybernetic parts were the bombs and the deactivation devices that have been removed. All this was further noted in the Dragon Ball daizenshuu which also mentions that they’re only organically modified. In Dragon Ball Super chapter 30 It's also been stated they're humans and that they're just enhanced at a cellular level. Most of your videos are well researched so I'm surprised you didn't get this, especially that it was stated in the original manga of all places.
You are incorrect by saying cell reverted back to his insect form. The cell either has another form that we never saw, or a new larval form. Remember when he broke out of the time machine they found the egg that he hatched from
I think a video talking about time works in DBZ, and I mean like day and night time as well as time travel. Maybe go into the 5mins thing on Namek. Or how long the are fights in real time.
What probably saved this timeliness from evil androids was trunks preemptive glazing. Follow wirh me now cause what if in the future the andriods just never got their props so they had to show out in order to gain respect since everyone thought that goku would've beat em but the ones in the past got they respect right off the bat when trunks thought a third one would pretty much be ggs for them. Pretty much validating their designations of being the ultimate creations of science and essentially checking off that off their to do list
I wonder why Cell was only programmed to absorb 17 and 18, why not make him able to absorb 16? I mean everything that made 17 and 18 powerful was likely mechanical in nature, maybe it would of made cell to complex. He failed to drink 16 but never tried to absorb him like he did 17 and 18 i don't think
I suppose it was because they still needed to be mostly organic to be absorbed at all, and also 16 was deemed a failure and Gero likely just did not wish to include him in anything further.
I asked chat gpt Give me a short story on how Android 16 became benevolent using a bird, voice commands towards a super computer that dr hero uses to program androids and the bird singing Dr. Gero sat in his lab, surrounded by the hum of machinery. His latest creation, Android 16, stood silently in a stasis chamber. Unlike the other androids, 16 was different-programmed with the sole purpose of destroying Goku, but Gero had added something else to his code, something he didn’t fully understand. One day, while Gero was fine-tuning 16's programming, a small bird flew into the lab, perching on the edge of the stasis chamber. It began to sing a soft, melodious tune. Gero, annoyed, issued a voice command to the supercomputer. "Activate Android 16," he said sharply, hoping the noise would scare the bird away. The computer whirred to life, responding to Gero's command. But as the bird continued its song, something unexpected happened. The supercomputer began to integrate the bird’s song into 16's programming. The melody merged with the code, subtly altering the android’s core directives. When 16's eyes opened, they no longer glowed with the same cold, mechanical light. Instead, there was a flicker of something new-something gentle. As he stepped out of the chamber, the bird flew down and landed on his shoulder, continuing its song. 16 raised his hand, not in violence, but in a soft gesture of curiosity, feeling the warmth of life from the tiny creature. The supercomputer's voice echoed through the lab, "New directive integrated: Protect life." From that moment, Android 16 was no longer just a tool of destruction. The song of the bird had awakened something within him-a desire to preserve the beauty of life, a sense of benevolence that even Dr. Gero could not erase. The bird’s melody had turned a weapon into a protector.
