If they allowed remaking after pistol round what would happen is people would just remake if their team lost pistol round. We know this would be the case because this happened in league of legends for a bit a while ago, and it even happened in valorant when there was a short period of time you didnt get penalized for dc'ing and remaking. Duo/trio would have a person dc in pistol, and they would try to win 4v5, if they did they would reconnect and play like normal, if they didnt win pistol round they would remake the game.
I'm wanted they mitigate the points loss when you play a lot of rounds with a inferior number of players, like you supposed to loss 20 for this loss but you only loss 10 because your team play with a player less.

Yeah I just wish they would release the beta version so that people not playing with bad ping can use it. I doubt most people want to watch replays with the intent of seeing EXACTLY how the enemy shot them (unless they or an enemy hit an insane crazy shot lol). I think most people want to use it just to see how the round progressed and if/how they should have reacted to what enemies did during the round.
The lag compensation is really important problem because most players will use replays to determine if they really missed "that shot" or to identify a cheater. And in order to do that transparent hit representation is vital.
They REALLY need to focus on more gameplay content and aspects for the casual player. Every mode is just a warmup mode besides unrated and comp. These recent updates have been cosmetic based or mostly jsut agent changes for the competitive scene... Hope they can step it up for 2025... Still appreciate the updates the dev team brings us as always!
As a casual player myself you and everyone else need to learn to accept that this is not a "casual" players game this game is very esport oriented because that's where it shines and makes the most money. We have unrated, swiftplay, spike rush, etc there's plenty to do

yeah, but unlike other grenade like utils in the game, tejo's has such a long windup time before it starts damaging, so enemies should be smart enough to move out of the way, unless you're in bronze.

At this point I've predicted Valorant 2025 future plans when comes to agent releases. I'm excited what they planning to do with the agents changed but also maps.
I'd suggest making it so there's a ping delay mode in the replay system where it shows the shot with delay AND an option to show without the ping delay. Or at least says "This replay is on 120 average ping" or smth like that so players can understand why the shot looks like it missed when it landed and vice versa.
They have already talked about it for years. Unbelievable they are still not confident in a launch. Didnt even say this season, so almost 100% not coming this year. Unbelievably slow development.

It is not coming any time this year. He didn’t say a time frame and even said that we will only be getting another update from him later this year. If they are not even confident that it is coming within 12 months, it is probably at the earliest coming next season. It is actually unbelievable they are this slow.

I like how they addressed the cheating and that you get a rr refund. But what i would have liked is them talking about the smurfs in this game. I know it is not as easy to detect smurfs as it is to detect a cheater. I am not hating but surely there has to be some way to prevent people from smurfing.

For example i was able to buy a steam account that had the new EA FC on it for 15€ even though the games price was 80€. As time went on the accounts got cheaper and i dont think it would be any different for valorant

it would really help if you made like the remake system for more than one round. like maybe 2-3 because there are always like those botting afk's that ruin the game and go afk after first round and maybe add like a reporting system only for the remake rounds where if like 3 or more people use it to say that lets say reyna is afk it gives the remake option. there has also been a bug ive encountered with it more than once where the remake option does not pop up even though the game said that said player was detected afk. which has been really annoying.
I feel like I'd dodge less if there was some sort of map pool vote system. I can understand maybe not doing so in comp, but in things like unrated and swift plays- you're booting it up for the fun of the game, and not for rr, so why not let us pick the maps we want to play on too?

@@aarizshaikh1379 because cod just shows from the opponents player pov. There is no lag compensation simply pulling recording of kill from enemies pov. Valorant wants to replay from both perspectives and mesh them into 1 which is much difficult to do, I understand what they're trying to achieve but it's almost impossible unless players all have fiber connections with low latency. That's why theater mode in cod sucked! Simply because lag proved a lot of inconsistency in gameplay recording. So they got rid of it.
For the replay system, how about offering a setting in Settings > General to choose which replay view the user would like to see? (I.e. server-side or client-side) Additionally, maybe they could see the replay from different POVs for different players. I'm not saying it's feasible, but it's a possibility, maybe?
I love what your doing with the map rotation, its kinda frustrating when your favorite is rotated out, it would be a great idea to implement a pick/ban system on maps, specially in rank games it'll make the whole rank system more viable for new players.
When they were saying something about the upcoming 2 more agents, the words "light" and the phrase "colorful new ways" just screams about that last player card on the new battlepass.
On Replays I'm happy with the update we got, but also as a player I think it's fine to get some more community feedback after implementing once. I don't think you need to get the catch all solution on the first try, just having replays in the first place would be very nice. As you said, there are downsides to all solutions, so it might be easier to let the community decide directly which downside to live with. Personally I rarely have to deal with high ping, but in the scenario you mentioned, I think being able to choose which viewpoint you're looking at the replay as could be valuable. So maybe you could have server side viewpoint, and a simple client side viewpoint that only has what you have seen recorded as replay data. Being able to choose would diminish any downsides of both imo.

it scales linearly with ping, so u would in this case just have to decide a random number that u deem fit. it isnt rly a great solution, because as long as there is mid to higher ping, there will be a fair amount of inconsistencies, and i know for SURE that people will use replays to prove that they shouldnt have died. "look, his crosshair is clearly not at my head wtf rito fix ur game waaaa" meanwhile the shot probably was completely fine on the users end. also, this soltion just stops people with higher ping from acessing replays?? not eveyone who has ping has it willingly, infact most dont. discriminating against those people just because of their poor connection, hardware, or living situation aint fun.

some questions we need to ask: where are the ascencion teams classics? last year, you guys had the g2, bleed and m8 classics, so why not to put any of the 2g, apeks, sunprisa, boom and xlg classics? i know it can be delayed like last year, but not giving us any information about that is weird you showed the replay sistem is being delayed because of a lag in the shots, but fortnite also has this problem and people don't mind it, the biggest thing we want inti the replay is to analyze our mistakes, not analyze our whiffs, so why delay the replay sistem because of some lag in the shots?

Yeah, presenting one dev challenge explains over 4 years of development time for one feature almost any game in the genre has on release. Let’s give them a pass for being insanely inefficient.
My case for changing ISO: Iso is unique in the way that he can be lethal and invulnerable at the same time. Yes, it's just one shot, but one shot is everything in this game. He turns fair duels into unfair ones, imagine if Reyna could shoot while in ghost mode. This is intensely frustrating when I shoot a shielded Iso in the head first, but then he, who is slower, hits mine and I lose. My proposition for change: Let his head be vulnerable at least when he has a gun out. Make it a anti-body shot tool, it would still be very useful against especially awps. I feel like this would fit his character with his aimlabs mechanic, quickly reacting to his shield and aiming at his head feels like it makes sense.
Think about the gameplay experience. That makes his signature seem underwhelming -- you pop the ability, push, instantly die with the shield doing nothing. The ability won't be as satisfying as it is, not to get into how excessive of a nerf this is. Iso's shield has a lot of counter-play (spray into the smoke when you hear it pop, use any util that has damage, in a 1v1 situation offsite you can just time his shield. Not one option is ideal in every scenario, but there is plenty of counterplay.), and if he is too powerful in relation to other agents (which I don't believe), what he'd need is a tweak, not such large of a change.

If Iso takes a duel against me with shield up and I shoot him in the head first, but he shoots second and kills me, like you can play perfectly and still lose against him. Also the way he makes the awp completely useless is a huge problem etc. I don't think he's especially powerful compared to other agents, but his protected lethality doesn't belong in a game like this. Shooting should not be safe. Alternate change: instead of a shield that you can shoot from behind, it's similar his other wall ability, but it attaches close to him making it easy to use. (Maybe when it takes damage little aimlabs circles pop up on it that you can shoot to repair it lmao. In this case maybe change his wall ability to something else bcz their similar idk.)

Its a good update but some of us still having some game issues for example crashed mid game for unknown reason or graphics crashed even though already updated the driver and doing other stuff, but still the issues remain unsolved This kind of issues started when 9.8 or 9.10 update and has been the same ever since
For the replay system section, my initial thought was "since the clients have a delay in their movement server-side, couldn't a client's state be fast-forwarded or rewound an arbitrary amount based on their round-trip time, therefore ensuring the replay system representation has shots lining up correctly?" Then I remembered every single instance where a player on my team had their ping spike way over 300ms. I've even had a teammate who's ping was 1.7k during a really bad spike on their end. *That* would completely break that assumption and would get messy really quickly *just* to attempt to make the replay view match the client view somewhat while still being accurate to what the server really saw happen. In theory a "sliding window" similar to Rocket League lag compensation could help resolve spikes but it's still unpredictable enough that there will still be inconsistencies with such an approach. (For what it's worth my latency in my own server is a stable 23 all the time, majority of the playerbase aren't so lucky)
Do you really need to precisely analyse the gunplay of players with 300 ping? If thats the quality of game we are talking about a replay of a specific player’s POV would almost be useless anyway.
All they need to do is make the replay system show the pov of whomever you are spectating, and then if you are spectating noone, we go to the server view
What about rr refund when a teammate intentionally throws and stays afk or when they leave the game and the whole game gets to 4 v 5 or 3 v 5 or something like that ? :)

I'm excited what they planning to do with the agents changed but also maps.
I'd suggest making it so there's a ping delay mode in the replay system where it shows the shot with delay AND an option to show without the ping delay. Or at least says "This replay is on 120 average ping" or smth like that so players can understand why the shot looks like it missed when it landed and vice versa.
Finally, they talked about the replay system. 2026 will be an amazing year!
They have already talked about it for years. Unbelievable they are still not confident in a launch. Didnt even say this season, so almost 100% not coming this year. Unbelievably slow development.
I want to say a big thank you to all the teams of developers, programmers and others of Valorant who once again treat us at the beginning of this year. I can't wait to see everything that has been said come to fruition over the course of the year and to spend it on this great game that is Valorant.

I like how they addressed the cheating and that you get a rr refund. But what i would have liked is them talking about the smurfs in this game. I know it is not as easy to detect smurfs as it is to detect a cheater. I am not hating but surely there has to be some way to prevent people from smurfing.

@martmarti9054 i dont know if that is the solution because people will still find ways to buy for 10- 15 bucks. For example i was able to buy a steam account that had the new EA FC on it for 15€ even though the games price was 80€. As time went on the accounts got cheaper and i dont think it would be any different for valorant
does smurfing/boosting count as cheating, as its certainly a breach of competitive integrity? will people get rr back for a competitively compromised game like one where bad actors have abused the system to create unfair advantages through smurfing and boosting, or even throwing?
it would really help if you made like the remake system for more than one round. like maybe 2-3 because there are always like those botting afk's that ruin the game and go afk after first round and maybe add like a reporting system only for the remake rounds where if like 3 or more people use it to say that lets say reyna is afk it gives the remake option. there has also been a bug ive encountered with it more than once where the remake option does not pop up even though the game said that said player was detected afk. which has been really annoying.

honestly, its cool that youre not rushing about the replay system, and that yall gave actual info! but i think that issue might be unfixable, if the player is stuck on high ping(?) because making a way to compensate the server in the replay system might be kinda hard, if not impossible
i do not understand anything about it but i think that my way would just be:
- getting an average ping of the certain player being watched
- use the value of the average ping to make everything else happen later in the screen, but not the player
- and just leave it that way when youre not watching the player

@@aarizshaikh1379 because cod just shows from the opponents player pov. There is no lag compensation simply pulling recording of kill from enemies pov. Valorant wants to replay from both perspectives and mesh them into 1 which is much difficult to do, I understand what they're trying to achieve but it's almost impossible unless players all have fiber connections with low latency. That's why theater mode in cod sucked! Simply because lag proved a lot of inconsistency in gameplay recording. So they got rid of it.
2025 is honestly the best season for valorant seeing these updates, on behalf of Korea I thank valorant for the constant informations and improvements

For the replay system, how about offering a setting in Settings > General to choose which replay view the user would like to see? (I.e. server-side or client-side)
Additionally, maybe they could see the replay from different POVs for different players. I'm not saying it's feasible, but it's a possibility, maybe?

On Replays I'm happy with the update we got, but also as a player I think it's fine to get some more community feedback after implementing once. I don't think you need to get the catch all solution on the first try, just having replays in the first place would be very nice. As you said, there are downsides to all solutions, so it might be easier to let the community decide directly which downside to live with.
Personally I rarely have to deal with high ping, but in the scenario you mentioned, I think being able to choose which viewpoint you're looking at the replay as could be valuable. So maybe you could have server side viewpoint, and a simple client side viewpoint that only has what you have seen recorded as replay data. Being able to choose would diminish any downsides of both imo.
okay so the solution for 13:45 is Replay won't be available if any one player have ping more than 120(server tick rate) ? rest can have replay feature ?
it scales linearly with ping, so u would in this case just have to decide a random number that u deem fit. it isnt rly a great solution, because as long as there is mid to higher ping, there will be a fair amount of inconsistencies, and i know for SURE that people will use replays to prove that they shouldnt have died. "look, his crosshair is clearly not at my head wtf rito fix ur game waaaa" meanwhile the shot probably was completely fine on the users end.
also, this soltion just stops people with higher ping from acessing replays?? not eveyone who has ping has it willingly, infact most dont. discriminating against those people just because of their poor connection, hardware, or living situation aint fun.

My case for changing ISO: Iso is unique in the way that he can be lethal and invulnerable at the same time. Yes, it's just one shot, but one shot is everything in this game. He turns fair duels into unfair ones, imagine if Reyna could shoot while in ghost mode. This is intensely frustrating when I shoot a shielded Iso in the head first, but then he, who is slower, hits mine and I lose.
My proposition for change: Let his head be vulnerable at least when he has a gun out. Make it a anti-body shot tool, it would still be very useful against especially awps. I feel like this would fit his character with his aimlabs mechanic, quickly reacting to his shield and aiming at his head feels like it makes sense.

Think about the gameplay experience. That makes his signature seem underwhelming -- you pop the ability, push, instantly die with the shield doing nothing. The ability won't be as satisfying as it is, not to get into how excessive of a nerf this is. Iso's shield has a lot of counter-play (spray into the smoke when you hear it pop, use any util that has damage, in a 1v1 situation offsite you can just time his shield. Not one option is ideal in every scenario, but there is plenty of counterplay.), and if he is too powerful in relation to other agents (which I don't believe), what he'd need is a tweak, not such large of a change.
@@thatdude9091 A complete rework would also do. The unfair nature is a problem. If Iso takes a duel against me with shield up and I shoot him in the head first, but he shoots second and kills me, like you can play perfectly and still lose against him. Also the way he makes the awp completely useless is a huge problem etc. I don't think he's especially powerful compared to other agents, but his protected lethality doesn't belong in a game like this. Shooting should not be safe.
Alternate change: instead of a shield that you can shoot from behind, it's similar his other wall ability, but it attaches close to him making it easy to use. (Maybe when it takes damage little aimlabs circles pop up on it that you can shoot to repair it lmao. In this case maybe change his wall ability to something else bcz their similar idk.)
Cool, lots of good changes. I hope they do more to keep the game feeling fresh this year, like new game modes for casual play and expanding the map pool for comp.

For the replay system section, my initial thought was "since the clients have a delay in their movement server-side, couldn't a client's state be fast-forwarded or rewound an arbitrary amount based on their round-trip time, therefore ensuring the replay system representation has shots lining up correctly?"
Then I remembered every single instance where a player on my team had their ping spike way over 300ms.
I've even had a teammate who's ping was 1.7k during a really bad spike on their end.
*That* would completely break that assumption and would get messy really quickly *just* to attempt to make the replay view match the client view somewhat while still being accurate to what the server really saw happen.
In theory a "sliding window" similar to Rocket League lag compensation could help resolve spikes but it's still unpredictable enough that there will still be inconsistencies with such an approach.
(For what it's worth my latency in my own server is a stable 23 all the time, majority of the playerbase aren't so lucky)
Do you really need to precisely analyse the gunplay of players with 300 ping? If thats the quality of game we are talking about a replay of a specific player’s POV would almost be useless anyway.
All they need to do is make the replay system show the pov of whomever you are spectating, and then if you are spectating noone, we go to the server view
