Her kid is 11 and this is for 7 years so it might be partly child support. She said she is spending $3,000 for rent. Depending on if her kids are in certain extracurricular activities that can costs thousands. My friend and her husband told me they dropped $9,000 last year because their 11 yo daughter is in a dance company. Not factoring the cost for lessons, hotel rooms every weekend, and entry fees, the costumes are custom made for each dance and never used again. The only reason they didn’t spend more is because they told their daughter no for some competitions and because their older daughter decided to get out of dance. It was double that before.

ask most doctors out there if they would have made it without their spouse. Most of them tell you no. While you are in training you have to have someone home to take care of things for you. The US training for physicians assumes you have a family member taking care of everything for you and gives you no time to take care of others. Without this support many people have to drop out. So it's normal that anyone supporting a physician in training for sometimes 10-15 years should get compensated.
Stay at home mom IS WORK. Taking care of him and his home. Cooking everyday, cleaning everyday, driving the kids everywhere and being their full time manager, therapist and nurse. If she went to work, society would bash her for working and abandoning her kids.
You say it like it's easy forgetting that not everyone is as lucky as you are. I've traded for months now without any progress. How are you able to do it?
I will be forever grateful to you, you changed my whole life and I will continue to preach on your behalf for the whole world to hear that you saved me from huge financial debt with just a small Investment, thank you Jihan Wu you're such a life saver
As a beginner in this, it’s essential for you to have a mentor to keep you accountable. Jihan Wu is also my trade analyst, he has guided me to identify key market trends, pinpointed strategic entry points, and provided risk assessments, ensuring my trades decisions align with market dynamics for optimal returns.
I'm favoured, 90K every week! I can now give back to the locals in my communities and also support the church. God bless America,, all thanks to Mr Jihan Wu😊🎉
She doesn't have to work again. Get a 500k house in cash. Invest the rest till the monthly money runs out. If she can just live on 7.5k a month she could live off the money till 54 then use the money she invested till 60 or 65 then live off the 401k forever lol. She is set the guy must of been loaded.
At 47 she will have to go back to work. After that house it will go down to 500,000$ and one emergency happens aka hospital with no insurance there goes that money. Then 95,000$ will be gone and only thing left is 401 k money which if she uses will get taxed. Food for thought!
So what's the most effective strategy during this period of volatility with the rate cut? Most of my portfolio is in (20% Index funds, 20% CD's 30% Bonds/T-bills and other assets) I want to explore different strategies to benefit from a potential bubble.
This is the exact thought process of persons handling their portfolio themselves. I will advice you engage guidance to help you make smarter portfolio decisions.
I've been through the 'bonds are beating stocks' periods since the 90s with no bonds and with all aggressive stock mutual funds. At 66, my IRA and cash accounts are far more than I expected for my retirement. I can easily handle a worst-case 80% stock crash, Thanks to my CFA.
Mind if I look up your advisr please? I've worked in real estate for over 15 years and have neglected a major stock portfolio. This served me well when I was flipping and renting houses, however I need a different plan now

People in the comments suck. Y’all project so much. Completely dragging this woman you don’t know at all. You have no backstory and are degrading her, shaming her. He could have been a freaking creep. He could have been abusive, manipulative, cheater. She doesn’t even come off as a gold digger. Didn’t know about how much money they had. She was busy raising THEIR kids. Maybe he’s a good guy who isn’t upset about providing for the mother of his children and his children. Maybe he’s fine with it. Maybe they just aren’t happy together but are both nice people who want the best for each other. None of you dummies know.
You are so right. We don't know what that woman had to endure during her marriage. People are so clueless and heartless. Just yesterday, I watched the YT documentary (How A Murder Case Brought Domestic Vilence To Light) about a wife who burned her husband while he was asleep in bed. Farrah Fawcett played the woman in the movie, the Burning Bed (1984).
You're right, yet I'm seeing many comments from presumably women suggesting that he was a cheater. What if she had an affair with the gardner and decided to get a payout on top of the affair?
"I know nothing about money and I stayed at home my whole life. I got mad at my husband so now I get half of what he earned and earns for the next 8 years." Jesus.
Reject this, DO get married AND have kids. It's awesome. Don't do it with the wrong person and also don't do it before ready. All ready means is can you support financially and emotionally. If strong, good ready, if nah, maybe don't, but it is good long run.
is it just me... or is it batshit crazy to assume any basal rate of "compound interest" when projecting over 30 years? let alone promote advice off of the back of it? (8mill from what rate lmao?!?) Its like everyone is in an echo chamber assuming the last 10 years performance can just be projected forward...?
im thinking he kept the house, and thats part reason why so much more Is paid out to her. I cant see ex husband having nothing if he has to pay 15k a month. She said she didnt have a house anymore, im thinking part of settlement he kept house
@Yogastrong908 Yeah a lot of people don't know that the judge can throw it out for any number of reasons including that it simply wasn't fair enough to the woman aka it doesn't give her enough of your money
I think the silliest thing about this call (and some of the comments) is telling the woman she needs to go find work and a purpose... Does she really? She has 3.1 million. That is enough to set you and 2 kids up for the rest of your life, living off dividends alone. You literally don't have to lift a finger with that huge or a pile of money working for you in dividend paying companies. The point of building to millions is to not have to do any more work.. WTF?
Wait Call Dr Phil call Jerry Springer Maury povich why is she calling DAVE GO SHOPPING YOU Should be HAPPY HAPPY WIFE NO MORE HUBBY LIFE IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE
Fellas I don’t know why you’re arguing with these women. I promise they don’t actually believe she “earned” the right to become a multi millionaire by folding clothes and microwaving chicken nuggets until the kids went off to school. The average construction worker would have to work for 60 years to earn the income she was just given. No logical person would say this woman did the equivalent of 60 years of hard labor, they are just exercising the power the government provides them and talking to make themselves feel good. If he didn’t get married, this call couldn’t exist. Can only blame yourselves!
a construction worker clocks out, stay at home mum is 24/7. A millioner husband is barely around, due to the work, so she has to take on tasks the husband ought to do if he clocked out at 6. He gets to know kids are safe that a hired nanny can't do
clearly her husband was not a construction worker .... probably a surgeon or something like that. The top performers in medical schools who will be contenders for the most competitive specialties are the ones with a stay at home spouse who cooks, clean and do laundry for them so they can focus on studying, exercising and sleeping. Having a stay at home spouse is a strategic advantage that is probably worth $10M+ of the course of ones career.
The state of humanity is screwed based on th comments. Everyone attackiing this lady wothout having any details other than the diivorce settlement. Just because your wife is SAH doesn't mean she isnt contrinuting to the marriage. Maybe he was abusing her? Maybe he was cheating? Maybe it just didn't work out? Marriage is nothing but a business contract. Super crazy how the leaders of the country have people believing for generations that you have to marry someone in order to show and prove your love for them.
When a company lets you go at most they give you a years pension if you've been there for more than 20+ years. She's was married for 15 and get a lumps sum of money with 15k for 7 years, ridiculous. She does not need this money yet the courts still think women are disadvantaged or handicapped in some way, bullocks!
Wow. All these comments. You guys can't see anything in life that doesn't make you hate women. It is also possible that he initiated the divorce and was happy to give her that quantity of money in order to be done with the marriage quick (or whatever reason). But hey, if you hate women, then it's probably not good for you to be married, or be in a relationship, or be near a woman.
That is how the situation reads to me, he paid her out to set up house with new GF. We don't even know that it was half either. All the comments saying she is a gold digger, and just sat at home doing nothing and gets a payout - are unreal. Don't take into account she gave up the prime years to build a career to look after the house and child/ren. And some of these men actually don't want their wives working, because it makes them look 'more successful'.
She does NOT have a guaranteed income, if the ex husband dies or becomes disabled she can kiss that support good bye! She needs to get herself an education and a job that will pay the bills if needed! It's hard to believe a freaking 40 year old has no clue about finances, be an adult and take some adult responsibility!
She ( and anyone else reading this) need to pickup a book or two on managing money and investing. UA-cam is full of noise. It isnt a reliable method to learn about investing. The man lost a wife, a child, and $3.1M. The woman gets a primary child custody, new man in no time, and $3.1M. Yet woman will tell you they are oppressed in our society. Disgusting.
It could be read a different way, he was willing to get rid of the wife and child for his new gf. Just as some women are willing to give up a husband and child for Chad.

There's no reason she HAD to be a SAHM given his income was at least $1M a year. Her kids are 11&14, which means they are school aged. She could have been working years ago, but she obviously wanted to live in easy street
The ex-husband in this situation lost millions but like Chris Rock said "he ain't starvin'". Meanwhile the guy making $30,000 and his wife gets half is up the creek. A lot more men who make way less suffer way more from the government during a divorce.
