Just fantastic! I can't wait to watch all of your videos Jason. Best camera work, and audio out there. The sound on that first 3-way pass is incredible.

Beautiful I love these warbirds! but why do they run the engine up a bit before shutting it off?

They run the engines up to check the mags (you can hear Argonaut's engine getting rough during this check) also this helps clean the plugs and in the case of the radials, helps clear the cylinders.

GOOD weekend for the Sanders family ! Three Sea Furies with 3 different engines making it to the gold!

When you ferry these beasts do you swap engines? I would think the race engines wouldn't like the lower manifold pressure not to mention the fuel costs.

usually the only time they show up without their race engines is when they're still finishing putting them together. The teams want to get time behind the race engine before Reno so they can tweak and fine-tune them.

and why does Race924's prop rotate clockwise from front when argo and dreadnought rotate counterclock?

What's interesting is that all these Sea furies have different engines, Dreadnought has an American 28 cylinder R4360, Argonaut also has an American engine, an 18 cylinder R2800 and race 924 sports her original British engine, an 18 cylinder Bristol Centaurus which turns the opposite direction, the Centaurus is a sleeve valve engine and the parts are getting really hard to find, that's why all the conversions have been done...... Dreadnought's engine is just a beast of power, 4000hp all day!!

Oh i see 924 still has the centaurus engine! yeah the wasp major has HUGE POWER, i will correct you however as I do believe the wasp major r4360 has 28 cylinders.
