- Thank you for your kind response to part I. Continuing from where we left off in Part I, in this video, we will cover Indian music's history from mid 1940s to early 1970s. The first few decades of independent India was a seminal period for the musical revolution which awaited India. A lot of quality music was produced and consumed in this music loving nation during this period. The medium of music production and distribution changed and a very new kinds of music maestros emerged. Let us explore this "golden period" of the Indian music.
Disclaimer - As mentioned in the video, you will find a north Indian bias in this video as that is the music I am most familiar with. Regional music during this period thrived as well but I was unable to include much of it in this video as I was unable to access relevant material (probably due to my ignorance about historical regional music).
