Got the Tonale MHEV Ti model in April.Very happy with it.Lovely Grey metallic colour. AR just been voted top for reliability too :) Beautiful car inside and out.
My brother had a gtv, broke his heart at times but he loved it nonetheless. He has giulia veloce now, fantastic car, handles like its glued to the ground. Hopefully this does well, not the typical bland brand that every second person drives.
Just ordered my Alfa tonale ti in Alfa red….. can’t wait. I went for the 20’’ wheel’s. Sooooo excited and can’t wait. I was a BMW woman, test drove the X1 and the tonale & if I’m honest the Tonale won hands down for the standard equipment which were all extra’s in the BMW. An absolutely amazing machine to drive!
I'm a sucker for Alfa Romeo - I've had a 156 Sportswagon and a GTV. But switching to BMW took away all the anxiety. But that ex of mine still looks pretty hot.
Thank you for a great review. A very informative and charming presentation style. I’ve owned Lancias and a 82 Giulietta that bought tears of joy and pain in Australia’s humid summers. Wouldn’t change a thing. ❤
Great and very fair review. Just picked up the Tonale Veloce 2 weeks ago. So far, it's been excellent. Most of my trips are short, urban trips which the vehicle is operating exclusively in electric mode. It's quiet and smooth as can be.
It's a lovely looking car but even in the North I wouldn't pay the price either to buy or insure one. The PHEV is insurance group 37 which is over twice the groups of my own car and the MHEV is a higher group too plus the price of it isn't much cheaper.
Gorgeous external design. Looks very limited and dark internal space. Interesting that pricing is comparable to a Tesla Model Y, which forgoes the external design in exchange for loads of internal space and 400km EV range. (DAB officially closed down in Ireland, in exchange for broadband radio.) Thanks for the review.
@@NobbyOnCars I could be harsh and say they would have kept it, if only Renault cars had DAB as standard at the time. Instead, I will point out that no other stations decided to continue the pilot, as their signal was transmitted over the state/taxpayers-owned (yet RTÉ controlled) network of transmitters. I've been driving Fiats Alfas and Abarths for the last 20 years and there is no bravery involved these days! (That's all I'm saying because I don't want to jinx it!)
It is indeed a lazy rebadge, “stolen” by Dodge…and rebadged as a Hornet. But the Tonale will be released in the United States as a plug-in, hybrid, and the best in class.
You are very accurate, I am renting one now, you feel your foot will go through the floor before it moves, it seems the engine is designed for a wheelbarrow
In Dynamic it'll give you a kick in the back though if you plank it...mostly but not always. Sometimes it will first just rev like crazy before it realises what you want :-) What was great to learn was that the performance is there even when the battery is 'empty.' This confirms the claim there is a real hybrid mode separate from the pure EV mode where the systems maintains enough power in the battery (up to 4km if I understand the display well) to keep it full Q4 when needed (such as a power jolt on the rear axle when you put your foot down). In Natural/Normal the pedal response is poor and putting your foot down will make the instantaneous fuel consumption rate jump up without noticeable acceleration (which makes me think the numbers are taken from the pedal input signal, not the ECU actual value). Strangely enough, engine response from Adaptive CC input in Natural does give very satisfying performance at reasonable instantaneous fuel consumption rate. So, it has its Alfa quirks (some of which feel like control software issues that can be fixed/optimised in updates) but overall plenty of smiles and laughs when driving it! The exhaust has a nice roar too. Better than I expected from YT reviews!! Good enough that it takes a bit of discipline to stay of the DNA knob 😂😂
Alfa Romeo have sold a mighty 48 cars so far this year 24 Tonale, 16 Giulia, 8 Stelvio They sold a total of 10 cars in 2022 Alfa Romeo may as well give up in Ireland at this stage

Wow beautiful looking car 😮 .
Great video. Keep up the good work 👍
Thanks for checking it out!
Good man nobby good to see your doing what you love listened to you for years on the 🍓⏰
Thank you! 😎

It’s the only SUV I’d consider……so pretty!
Same 😊
One drove by me a few days in that lovely looking metallic green.
It’s a striking colour alright
Not rebadged Hornet! The Tonale came first and Dodge followed!
Man alive there are so many suvs to choose from these days, sure miss the days where premium badges would make premiumly designed cars
The cable bag is branded!! View it under a glancing angle!
Good looking motor 👍
It sure is

on a side note I liked your comment on DAB radio - we are in the middle ages when it comes to that technology
Well they couldn’t afford to sustain DAB… there were flip flops to pay for afterall 🤣
I wouldn’t mind, I filmed this in April, I must be psychic 🤣
Thanks! PS. Have a Tea on me. I don't drink coffee.
What’s the build quality and reliability like that would be my concern.

No, RTE closed it down as they didn’t want to pay for it, no other reason.

Nobby, i watching you from your fisrt video clip, and do you know what i noticed ? You really like sneakers 😄
Bit of a soft spot for them alright 😉
It's both beautiful and aggressive 😊
I think this is rebadged as a "Hornet" for Stellantis in North America.
It is, with the better engine!

nop, two separate cars, both going on sale in the USA.

Green is spectacular
What a stunner !💓
Saw a green one today in the wild and it jumped off the road compared to everything else.

I don’t get you, the 1300cc and plug in hybrid is to have low emissions a bigger engine won’t achieve that!!!
Reviewing the boot without filming the boot, a novel take, but I don't think it will catch on.
It does have a beautiful ass though.
You’d want to get yourself down to Specsavers
@@NobbyOnCars A 45 degree camera angle? and I need glass's? Yeah. Don't give up your day job. Opps you did. Anyway, shall we agree to differ.
@@Irishgamer01 there’s nothing to differ on. The boot is filmed and it cuts to it three times.

It should be called the Tamale in Mexico.
😅😅😅
0:26 the skew-whiff number plate just ruins the front end. It's the death knell for all their current cars
They have that since the late '90s with the 156 and 149.
And now make a decent processor for the Guilietta please Alfa, not a SUV!
Oh tasty
I am thinking less of this SUV fad next time please Alfa Romeo .. and more Sting ray fad instead
ha spot on..
Dodge Hornet.
😂😂😂😂 1.3 petrol hydrid alfa gone woke
I’d have a GTV over a ToeNail every time . The best looking car of a breed I loath .
How can you loath Alfa Richard come on!?!? 😊

there are plenty of reputable DYSLEXIA treatments nowadays. give it a go
