Pipe wrenches pinch the sleeves and make it harder to turn a proper tie rod tool is the most efficient way and heat with whatever penetrating oil you prefer will free them up
@@AutotechSteve have you ever used a pipe wrench? I used a pipe as a alignment tech for years. Never had it fail. It not working happened when the tie rod was cross thread or bent from a collision.
Looks amazing man! Can't wait to see it once you get the rear raised up. Th8s truck is quickly becoming one of my favorites from your stable. Let's Go!!!
How do I go about finding which setup I have for suspension? Truck is all stock, I have a 68 f250 ranger camper special 2WD with a 390 and 3 speed automatic.
I like the way it turned out. Gotta say i cant wait for the rear. I think a caterpillar would be sick in this truck with the stock 4speed and a gear vendor
Would like to say cause of you I’ve been inspired to start my build on my 92 f150 had 22 inch wheels but decided to go back old school 15in wheels, flowmaster 40, 2 inch rear shackles drop kit, clear head lights, and it’s all coming together. Motor is an inline 6 nothing special but I like it. But your content has definitely motivated me to get back into my build. Thank you 💪💪💪
Couldn’t you buy a drop bracket kit for something close to the year bc most of the I beams for 2wd through out the years are almost the same and any lift kit for an obs ford for example comes with a drop bracket kit for radius arms and I beams drop brackets but still using longer radius arms is recommended
The amount of information I just learned makes me feel like I should be paying you a teaching fee 😂 good work man, love what you're doing for the community
Nice job on getting your MechE degree! I graduated with my MechE degree in 2020 and would love to be doing what you’re able to do. Best of luck to you bro!
If only they made a saw thingy to cut a perfect circle, oh they did it’s called a hole saw 😁 Used hole saws for cutting holes in semi frames for mounting headache racks.. Keep up the great work man this build is sick
There used to be several Dick Cepek stores around San Diego that went out of business over 20 years ago. They had a mail order catalog and sold suspension parts for 2wd Ford trucks to make the truck a class 8 prerunner. They sold front ibeams that were straight and with the radius arms would lift the front end at least 4 inches. If would kind of hard to find those convert parts today. But they also sold cab mount spacers and bed mount spacers, it was a real decent lift kit.
@@houstonbutler476 That's good to know, and I live in St. Louis, MO. Back in the late 70's and 80's I bought alot of stuff from Dick Cepek and the midwest 4wheel drive center used to sell Dick Cepek and Mickey Thompson side biter tires and desert dogs. That is where Bigfoot trucks used to be in north county St. Louis.
I guess it’s been a while since I’ve watched your videos, you’ve come a long way in a short time good for you. Are you going to going to upgrade to disc brakes? It’s strange that ford didn’t put disc on the 350’s I had a 67 f250 parts truck with factory disc brakes had thought about putting the 3/4 ton axles under my 71 1/2 ton.
Way to much math😏. Just cut 2 pieces of angle iron about 2 feet long . Drill out 2 holes for the bottom lug nuts. Attache item and bolt it on. Get 2 tape measures to measure across front and behind wheel hub. The front can be 1/8 to 1/16 for toe. Your good to go. Cuz all that math is out the door once you hit a big pothole.
Hey I've got a 2001 Ford mustang that I want to put a lift kit and a roll cage on it is that possible to put on my mustang oh I almost forgot to mention it's a convertible. And I'm like the videos that you guys make😊
i cant take it anymore, i need to see a 7.3 in that long shlong ford
its screw cab schlong box
I'd vote for a 6.9 idi I've had better luck with them. The walls ain't as think so they don't over heat as much once studded and thrown all the boost
right
Me too it needs a 7.3 badly and 4wd
7.3 idi or the new 7.3 gasser?
Hey Franklin was doing "CAD" Cardboard Aided Design 😂 8:44
And I thought I’d never use soh cah toa outside of school. Hell yeah Craig. 19:49
When dealing with stuck tie rods use a pipe wrench. If a 14” pipe wrench isn’t turning it you need some new stuff

best day of the week when Craig posts.
Craig, Michael sabo and cars&cameras for me 👌🏼😆
I'm always waiting on when the new vid drops
Probably my favorite off road wheels. Truck looks great.
By torching them beams, wouldn't it weaken and loses its strength of the beam even after it cools off?

2wd is definitely I beam front suspension that year
I think it's time to get a shop that you can put a lift in
Love the math and explanation, keep up the good work. Been a long time subscriber and this channel is really becoming impressive

18:24 bro this is what I was learning in math in high school last year
Dude I love what you did to the front end of that truck I love it love it love it love it keep up the good work😂
Love the budget builds. These old fold trucks are sick. Can't wait to get mine running!
You need to get an Aeromax or a CL9000car hauler
Man I want to do this to my 68 F250!
me to on my 68 f100
You should look into Alcan Springs in Colorado for custom Progressive leaf pack if you haven’t already looked into an upgrade to your leafs.
F***king nerds. 🤟🏽 Love it
I didn't realize there would be a geometry quiz after the video 🤣 . Seriously the truck is badass brother!
Came out sweet. When does it get the black widows and x pipe?
Having a stock exhaust on a tow pig is nice that way your ears don't ring constantly like mine do lol

Come to see an old truck become awesome, and left with a geometry lesson, love it!!!
Being a bump side and bull nose owner, I am super excited to see what 909 speed company products are to come!!

Hole saws with pilot bit works good for big holes.
Looks great! Gotta get that back end up. Whatr rims did you use?
I wish I could heat and bend the twin traction beams on my Bronco!! Nice project keep up the good work! Congrats on your degree.

AutoFab in San Diego has all of that for old Ford I-Beam trucks

This looks killer! I did a 3” Autofab kit on my 71 but we all know how much those kits go for 😅
Hey craig I love the videos, would you suggest or say its worth it to go to school for mechanical engineering?
You’re having too much fun. I’m jealous
Youre really gonna need some power out of that 390 if you want to tow with it now. Blower build??
This is a good truck
You should design a pair of electric cutouts that actually will last longer then a few months!
i wish franky was my highschool geo teacher, he makes things sound so simple explaining the math
Congrats on graduating! Welcome to the workforce!

Hell yea truck looks so damn good
You got to put power steering on it. Used Redhead gear box.
You need a small slide in camper, THEN you'll have a rig.
Purple tint must go
Not sire exavtly what knuckles are on this truck but if it has a upper tie rod you know you can jusy buy a camber adjustment nut.

now put a 12 valve in it and it will be perfect
a healthy 460 will do, it'll suck gas, but it'll do.
24:15 craig tooted his f-250 and joined the squatted carolina boys. careful don't let whistlindiesel see this craig!!!! lol
Congrats on graduating!!
Sick truck 🤟🤟
I guess y does =mx+b, this was a badass video
Where can you get lift kits for these old fords
6.0 swap
👌👌👌
7.3 powerstroke swap time with a zf5
Ready to see a 4x4 swap on the ole girl
I hate math
So freaking rad
Questioning the goal with the truck trying to stop, tow, and steer now with 37s with the amount of work your a trac bar away of a Dana 60
Nice job boys 😉🇦🇺
More toys footage, I guess you got rid of the Galaxy!
I was all pumped to do this to my 68 f100 until they broke out the triangles and numbers 😂
The tires and rima you had on at the beginning is exactly what i want when i get my 76 done
Nice👌👌👌
It shouldn't squat when you roll forward That means you have toe out on the steering I mean there is settling
Yes indeed Awesome
as always great stuff thanks
Subbed before 1 mil ticket
So glad I payed attention to math
Damn I wish I didn't sleep through math class
😎🏴☠️
What are you going to do with those 37s and only 2wd 😂
Hey I've got a 2001 Ford mustang that I want to put a lift kit and a roll cage on it is that possible to put on my mustang oh I almost forgot to mention it's a convertible. And I'm like the videos that you guys make😊
Dude- that math shit was brain numbing, but I know you're right. And for what it's worth, that I beam is worth the extra effort.
What size are those tires
How dare you bring math into working on cars! Everything needs to be eyeballed. Haha!
Sweet
I want Craig’s collection. Bros got the cleanest vehicles
Math Rocks
Next brake kit
😂😂😂 all that and its 2wd??
Does anybody know where a guy can get a front coil spring bucket for a 1978 ford f100 I can't find one anywhere
I wish i could like this video twice
Damn, had to take an Advil after watching this video....
Carolina squat
Great video. Can’t wait to see the rest of the build.
What is the width and offset of the wheels?
Yes 7.3 swap
Get a rose bud for that torch it’ll help you tremendously
I´m looking for one of those, do you sell it?
Ouch math ouch.
12valve and 4x4 swap it pls
Who said math isn't cool!
Quick math
I have 1973 f250, please let me know if you can build the parts, for me. I would love to raise my truck too. Thanks
got that Carolina squat lol Jk
Small tyres look better..
In before I got the notification
Gas mileage = exempt
