I notice that singer such as Céline do take vocal rests but i also notice for " karaoke singers themselves " they throw their voices where Céline has hers contained and does not ruin it. I can sing as well as both Céline and James and i am very picky when it comes to vocals and my voice range varies without strain or where i lose my voice near half way threw a show.
Gotta love Celine, she is always cool and in tune. Since you are classical trained, may I suggest SOS from Dimash at Singer competition to analyze and breakdown? I promise you will not get disappointed... so many techniques and voice colors with seamless transition and effortless. Anyway, I really enjoy your videos. Thanks!

Looking at your vids, it would probs be a new thing, but don't be put off by the metal tag! This particular metal band takes a lot of influence from classical music, film scores, folk music etc. Far from the wall of noise that metal can sound like sometimes. I'm always interested to see what other musicians make of them. The band is called Nightwish, they are originally from Finland and they currently have a Dutch frontwoman. Almost all the songs are in English though. You may enjoy Ghost Love Score, live from Wacken 2013. You shouldn't have to cut any bits out of the video, just pausing a few times to discuss it should work fine.
