I've been saving for switch 2 since the switch oled released, I think a lot of people have been preparing for it from the other comments in here like this one. I expect it will initially sell way faster than Switch 1 which people were unprepared for but then slow down faster as well.
Sony pulled down that $600 price tag as quickly as they put it up. That's a real cherry-picking example by you, especially when we havent seen a $600 console since such stupidity by Sony
@@talison461 , Wtf? The current Switch already competing against ps5 😆😆😆😆.... It's a disaster for ps,5 though, cause if switch 2 can run AAA games, + switch exclusive? 😲 Since ps games are porting to pc.... See?
I mean, you have plenty of time from now till Switch 2 releases to save up. That's how I see it. Nothing is going to stop me from playing MP4 on Switch 2.
While I don’t think it should be $450 or $500, I think logically it will be that range due to inflation and the fact that most fans demand the system have specs to run next gen 3rd party games. Snazzy newer specs don’t come cheap. Ppl need to be realistic. If you want something that’s on par to compete with ps5 and have their graphics and all that- y’all need to pay for it.
If Nintendo charges prices similar to buying a Steam-Deck, it will have to have some unique, must have, features to make it worth buying over the Steam-deck.
hopefully it would be a significant upgrade from the original to justify the price. I'm talking an increase of power that will make the current Switch look like a Game and Watch by comparison. And a virtual console would be nice.
To have some good technology and horse power, it’s gonna cost at least $450,00…. That price is OK for me if Switch 2 also receive third party support!!!!
I think that the new Nintendo Switch successor should be $400. The price point should be lower than the PS5 and the Xbox Series X. That way people will had to spend this amount of money for a new system. The only question is what’s the price point for the games? Will it be $60 or $70. Given how the Switch was successful this generation, I think that Nintendo should continue it’s momentum going into the next generation of consoles.
Likely mostly $60 games, there might be an increased number of $70 games, but I don’t think that’ll be the standard price. Nintendo actually makes a lot of their games very cheaply, they are a very budget-conscious company, so they can still profit very nicely off of their $60 titles (additionally, they mostly distribute their own games, so they also make more money off their games that way). I think that the average price will continue to be $60, with some occasional variance up towards $70 and down to $40, but those games won’t be the majority.
My guess is for how they’ll handle it. 1) They’ll drop the base Switch, keeping Switch Lite and Switch OLED. They’ve currently got two models using the Tegra X1, which hasn’t had a chips available for shipment since 2021. So they’ll need to drop either the base Switch or the Lite sooner or later anyway. Dropping the base allows the solely portable and premium options to be available. 2) Price drop of Switch OLED to $299.99. 3) Switch 2 launches with two SKUs differing only in storage. Say a 256GB SKU for $349.99 and a 512GB version for $399.99. Possibly 4 SKUs by making the dock an optional purchase and, depending on the upgrades and functionality of the dock, it adds on an additional $75 to the SKUs with the dock packed in ($424.99 for 256GB and $474.99 for 512GB).
IF Its $500, thats VERY competitive with Asus, Lenovo and Steam, because if this Switch supposedly does what rumors says, that price range not only makes sense, but is very competitive to the PC handheld market, making the Switch 2 more viable for price per performance.
The problem here is this. it will at best be competitive with what's out now. But you know the generation of what's out now will have there next thing out not long after.
$499 will work for us hardcore fans, but I don't it'll work for the "I'm going to buy it 2025 holiday crowd. Maybe. It just seems pretty high for Nintendo and being a hybrid with likely ps4 pro-ish specs + DLSS. $399 is the sweetspot.

Nintendo never, never loses money on the console. Never. New tech is expensive. If it is 500 then it will be worth it. PS 5 Pro is comming soon and will be more expensive.
Not really. Every generation has been unique but that doesn’t matter. What matters is the games that comes out which will make ppl buy the system. PlayStation 5 has been a “slow take” and it still dominates.
Maybe they wanna be taken seriously like the PS5 and XBOX series. Maybe it's a lot more powerful than we thought. Maybe we're gonna see some amazing games that a regular Switch couldn't handle. Maybe it'll be on par with the competition or even better!
I don’t think the switch 2 will be a flop but I don’t think it will sell as much as the original switch unless there is something amazing about it that blows peoples minds.
New series x 2 TB is crossing the 600$ price. I guarantee the PS5 pro will as well. A 500$ price point on the switch 2 although steep, still reasonable with how inflation has been. As long as it can play AAA 3rd party games on or near par to the PS5 and series x it’s worth it. People pay ridiculous prices on phones and other things. 500$ if you look at it isn’t a bad price for a handheld that should handle ps5 and series x games.

I was hoping for it to be $500, assuming that the higher cost will give me a better quality console. Under that amount I wouldn’t expect 4k, with that price tag I better get 4k! If Nintendo plans to ride this console for the next 7+ years, they need to at the very least keep up with today’s industry standard in video game resolution.
$500 is practically fine, with expectation and the better hardware, it's a pretty good price point, sure a little less is nice, but lesser would probably mean not as well components put into it, plus it's a SWITCH, it's not just a standalone home console, there will be additional accessories that no other consoles/company does, which yes would affect their price point, we still don't know the full details of what this Switch 2 would be like, all the neat features, unique out of the box accessories we'll have, it's definitely worth an additional $100 at the very least compared to the latest OLED model, so $450 sounds more decent, but $500? It's really not that far-fetched pricing, if they really up their hardware unlike anything we have seen in the past, then yes, they are finally going to be right up there near on a higher end platform with the rest of the competition And just like SwitchForce said, for other consoles you're paying for experience and not just power, it's the same for Switch, I feel like Nintendo is really going to go in on the experience much more than the normal Switch. One major aspect that can define the Switches power if it finally has GENSHIN IMPACT, it was announced so long ago but probably due to hardware power and capability it couldn't get on the Switch and that was years ago, Nintendo made the Switch to fall behind around 3-4 years into its cycle, that's kind of bad and the performance shows and the really high end graphical games like Genshin isn't there, so I hope with the new Switch it can handle these games like Genshin, Zenless, Star Rail, Wuthering Waves or even Fallout 76, if said new system can handle big games like these just as well (roughly) as the current consoles and of decently (500 - 750) range gaming pc/laptop, then yeah we're looking at a pretty good value of $500 for the new Switch.
Its going to be $350-$400 and be as powerful, if not more, as the Xbox One X (I said the One not the Series). If it's more powerful than that, then it'll probably be closer to the Series S. That being said, I think it'd be great if they put some sort of graphics chip inside the dock to give it more oompf while docked. Which would be the only way I'd pay $500 lol
Nintendo has great games, but a cheap behind a gen console specs. If they fix that and let us play their games on a cutting edge console, than sure, take my $500, even $1000. It doesn't even need to beat their competitors, just let it be comparable, and than I'm happy.
I bought a PS5 on release day for €500. No way I would buy the next Switch at the same price point, when we know it will be as strong as the PS4. I would wait for a year or so, take my time, see the library. They will probably support the Switch during the first year anyway.
I love Nintendo but anything over $400 for a brand new council that comes out underpowered compared to the current old consuls of PS5 and Xbox is a bit much
If/when they come out with a new Animal Crossing for the Switch 2, I'll buy 3 Switch 2s even at $500, and 3 of the new AC game. (Yes, I have been saving for all of this for a long time.) If they don't come out with a new AC, I'll buy zero Switch 2s, zero games, and continue to play ACNH on my Switch 1.
@@widmariecorderoortiz635 Well, in that case I also still have my 3DSXL and ACNL And if they take longer than that I still have my Wii and City Folk. And more. They can't out-wait me, I have saved it all clear back to Animal Crossing on Gamecube. LOL If they want to make money, making great new games that people want to buy, is a good idea.
140 million Switchers has given Nintendo a boost in confidence. They know people will rush to buy their hardware to play their games no matter what they price it.That's the advantage in having exclusives and not given them away like some green console out there... Later..
In our home we have four switches and two switch lights. I don't think I could afford $500 a piece for All My children. We would probably only buy one for the whole family.
Don't worry Nin ain't that dump to price the next system like that. Yeah, the 3DS was too much & they did do a price cut for that the 1st year but lesson learned & now they have a huge fanbase they have to be careful handling. So they need to make sure they don't burn the bridge we walk on 😂.
I spent over 1k on my phone and I change it every other year... if nintendo can give me a console that will last as long as the switch, can play AAA games and the battery lasts as long as the switch oled or a little more I'll gladly pay 500, he'll I'd pay 1k!
Nintendo usually does the lowest price possible. However, it could change due to the Switch's popularity. That being said, if they do charge higher it will due to the inflation happening right now.
If it's gonna cost 500$ then it needs to come with a free game and not have an online subscription you have to pay for to play with your friends online.
Lmao ok pal. People will drop that on ps5 and xbox1 and still pay for online and game pass. If it's an upgraded system, with DLSS and capable of running games on par with ps5 and xbox1 then it absolutely should be 500. And they absolutely should still charge for online. Nobody cares if YOU buy it. It'll still sell like hotcakes mark my words 😅
I don’t think that they’re ever going to stop NSO. But I do think it’s definitely possible that they’ll bundle that into their new consoles, probably for a year. They almost certainly aren’t going to bundle a game in when it first drops, but as time passes they’ll probably start to do game bundles.
How is it a mistake I mean if the Switch 2 is 500 hundred dollars than they got to be putting better tech into it, hey look at this way at least its not 600 dollars like the Steam deck. People just need to chill out
This was said a while ago. Why bring it up now. I don’t know if we should even believe it since I think this is just an analyst predicting it or something. Well we will know the price soon probably.
A game console that is equivalent to ps4 and can be played on the go Only $500 And guaranteed to have exclusive Nintendo game support Isn't this great?🤪
Yea I don't think this is a mistake if nintendo wanted to compete with Microsoft and Sony they were going to have to do this. Most old school nintendo fans have been wanting nintendo to do this and even the new generations of fans
I will pay $500 if Nintendo delivers the right hardware. If the switch 2 performs anywhere near what the rumors state it will, then there is not a single handheld on the market right now that can compete with it at $500. It’s rumored to be more powerful than the ROG ally X… that thing is $800.. The switch 2 priced at $500 and the ability to play current Gen AAA games on the go better than steam deck or the other handhelds? It’s a no brainer for me.

When talking about price point there are factors to consider. Does it come with pack-in titles? Does it come with 3 months or a year of SNSO? Also, depending on what parts are compatible with the current Switch and vise versa, maybe they can sell it bundled and unbundled. I know when jumping to OLED I wish they would have just sold the tablet. Worrying about price point before we know what is and isn't included and what or won't be needed in addition to it is backwards.
Think about this, though: Nintendo is going to put a bunch of new tech in the system, like 4K capability and DLSS support. That amount of tech is pricey for just a $400 system. Also, Nintendo is going to be directly competing with Xbox and PlayStation this time around. Sure, not with raw power, but with A.I. upscaling techniques.

$500 would be shooting themselves in the foot. People are struggling for food and bills. They would be unwise in making it so expensive.
I would rather it be 500
If/when they come out with a new Animal Crossing for the Switch 2, I'll buy 3 Switch 2s even at $500, and 3 of the new AC game. (Yes, I have been saving for all of this for a long time.) If they don't come out with a new AC, I'll buy zero Switch 2s, zero games, and continue to play ACNH on my Switch 1.
Same, but the next game will probably take them like 6 more years to release
@@widmariecorderoortiz635 Well, in that case I also still have my 3DSXL and ACNL And if they take longer than that I still have my Wii and City Folk. And more. They can't out-wait me, I have saved it all clear back to Animal Crossing on Gamecube. LOL If they want to make money, making great new games that people want to buy, is a good idea.
I don’t care how good the switch 2 is. $500 is a recipe for disaster
140 million Switchers has given Nintendo a boost in confidence. They know people will rush to buy their hardware to play their games no matter what they price it.That's the advantage in having exclusives and not given them away like some green console out there... Later..
I’d pay 600 lol just give it to me already 😂
500 is decent price for more powerful switch drop 500 dats what i thought it be around 400-500
@@solonepeon5805 yes your right I em hope
I just hope they fix the eshop smh
If it's £500 then there's got to be a significant new gimmick that nothing else has
If it $500 it better be more powerful than the PS4 pro
Cries in Australian dollar
😶
$350 will still be the price point for the Switch 2 & $199 for the OG Switch when the time comes.
I spent over 1k on my phone and I change it every other year... if nintendo can give me a console that will last as long as the switch, can play AAA games and the battery lasts as long as the switch oled or a little more I'll gladly pay 500, he'll I'd pay 1k!
Consumption victim
How much do you make a year?
We painting rumour as fact again?
Nintendo usually does the lowest price possible. However, it could change due to the Switch's popularity. That being said, if they do charge higher it will due to the inflation happening right now.
If it's gonna cost 500$ then it needs to come with a free game and not have an online subscription you have to pay for to play with your friends online.
😂
I really hope they fix the communication I mean it’s ok but they need to have communication on the system the app is a joke
I hope is $400 and not $500
I hope that there is an oled option at launch
You have no idea at all what the price is gonna be, i guarantee you it.aint gonna be 500 dollars
How is it a mistake I mean if the Switch 2 is 500 hundred dollars than they got to be putting better tech into it, hey look at this way at least its not 600 dollars like the Steam deck. People just need to chill out
7:33 wtf is "extra money" 😂
It's money... That's extra...
I agree, in this economy what is "extra money"?
I got my Steam Deck used off eBay for $250 and I use it more than my switch now
I could see $499 easily
450 or less most likely I think, even with the current Switch being supported long into the future with the same first party games.
So you want Nintendo to make a better system, with more memory better graphics but make it cheap 🙄
This was said a while ago. Why bring it up now. I don’t know if we should even believe it since I think this is just an analyst predicting it or something. Well we will know the price soon probably.
Bro you know there’s an app that can clean the static out of your audio. No need to re-record
😂
A game console that is equivalent to ps4 and can be played on the go
Only $500
And guaranteed to have exclusive Nintendo game support
Isn't this great?🤪
Yea I don't think this is a mistake if nintendo wanted to compete with Microsoft and Sony they were going to have to do this.
Especially with better battery life than those other battery hogs.
@@ZzKevZz 100%
I’m just tired of waiting. Nintendo needs to show the hardware specs they’re using and what we can expect. It’s been almost 10 years since the switch 1 launch.

Problem is they need 3rd party support. This console has to last 5-8 years. So it needs to be as powerful as xbox series s. Or this console will have short life or have to do pro model
I would purchase for $500. But I’ll be more comfortable at $400.
i would just buy a steam deck at that price
So you can be tethered to the electrical outlet?
@@ZzKevZz well you have me there! steam deck oled only last 3 to 12hrs while switch last 4 to 9hrs. it will be extremely hard. but im sure ill manage. not sure who would want to be stationary that long playing a hand held
500-600-700$ im still buying lol.
I would purchase, even at $500.
i wouldnt
I would to! if I had money…
Okay, for the first time in a long time. I agree if I'm not getting. The best system under the That system under the hood if i'm not getting And oh , let's scream , and if we're still making compromise With this new system , you won't get nowhere near four hundred or five Out of me If I don't see it I don't buy it
I definitely love the price of there membership ❤❤❤
No price cuts? Don’t they put it on sale 2x a year?
When talking about price point there are factors to consider.
Does it come with pack-in titles?
Does it come with 3 months or a year of SNSO?
Also, depending on what parts are compatible with the current Switch and vise versa, maybe they can sell it bundled and unbundled. I know when jumping to OLED I wish they would have just sold the tablet.
Worrying about price point before we know what is and isn't included and what or won't be needed in addition to it is backwards.
You lost me at $400
I get it, they are competing against more expensive handheld consoles.
$400 might be fine but that is a stretch in regard to do I really need the upgrade?
It all depends on it's spec's,that price u can get a steam deck.
But the steam deck is trash.
@@daddetocap
the original steamdeck is trash. only ever worth getting the oled.
But the steam deck is not a Nintendo switch
I just want armored core 6 on switch 2
Think about this, though: Nintendo is going to put a bunch of new tech in the system, like 4K capability and DLSS support. That amount of tech is pricey for just a $400 system. Also, Nintendo is going to be directly competing with Xbox and PlayStation this time around. Sure, not with raw power, but with A.I. upscaling techniques.
The switch is gonna go for $399 plus tax
I agree
Tbh funny story about how I got my own Nintendo switch lite,; I got it in hopes of being able to Play one-on-one Uno with my mom because of the two Nintendo switch systems that would be owned foolishly thinking though however, I could use gameplay on both systems to actually play against her but I was mistakenly wrong! Lol that was on me😅 Even with purchasing a second digital copy on the other switch light for her I ended up actually finding out that it still gives you a time limit like online wirelessly which of course is very, VERY DECEPTIVE ON UBISOFT'S END LIKE WHY.; at least Yu-Gi-Oh master duel and super smash Brothers ultimate both make it all worth it! 👍☺️
I’m not spending that kinda money on a console
500$? Hmmmmm
I don't care, I'll pay thousand ez..if switch is 3oo and you guys want double the power, so 500 seems just about right
Sounds like they could be sticking with an OLED screen.
you are another level of Kool aide drinker trying to say Nintendo has earned the right to charge more lol
Fine with me if it isnt a toaster.
I think the sweet spot would be 400 bucks
