Come to think of it... this anime is actually too not for kids... there are some bits only adults understand... also some kids would like for example the bad characters they think cool and might try behaving like this... I remember a young girl for instant played with matches inspired by some 'cartoon' (anime) character I don't remember... so dangerous.
I belive that this anime is actually made for Kids it is only à réflection of the reallty at least at that time I feel like its wrong to keep our Kids in a buble and then send them to the harsh outside world ignoring what hardships they could face its true they might lern bad things but its our responsability as adults to show them the right from the wrong iam saying this but iam fully awear that thier innocence must be kept its Just a matter of finding à balance
I mean remy 's story is sad but I felt more sorry for mattia and the rest. Because of there hard life they are either cowards or like mattia distant himself from others.

Also the story's setting was in the past like 1800's when life wasn't what you call the best.
