Dragon's Dogma 2 hands-on | Impressions from THREE HOURS!

- There were times in the preview where I was left in awe, and it was only three hours. Battling a flock of harpies upon a fjord; seeing the ricochet arrows rip apart a gang of raiders in a cave; fighting a huge wyvern while clinging on for dear life; and taking in the beautiful scenery of both Vermund and Battahl were all highlights.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 is going to be special, and I only got to see a small fraction of the finished game. With multiple vocations still to see and more of the fantastical world to explore, along with plenty of quests and random areas and secrets to discover, I can’t wait to play more.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on March 22.

Excited yet? What class will you be playing?
Fighter, then Warrior and then possibly Mystic Spearhand if there's a NG+. Amped as Hell for this game 😃
nice video thanks, you guys deserve more subs
He keeps saying "Archer" but he means "Magick Archer"
Well the review was great he def influenced the hype even more !!
I truly don’t understand why people that have not played the first game are being asked to play this one? Why? And then they all get together to talk about the game and none of them know what the game is about.
The first game is old and quite niche - they need this one to appeal to a larger broader audience to recoup the increased development cost. It’s good marketing to show people’s opinions who didn’t play the original still enjoying the sequel.
For additional context:
From 2012 to 2023 it sold 8 million units.
For comparison, Dark Souls 1 sold 16 million units from 2011 to 2023. Dark Souls is also quite niche. I think this perfectly highlights the popularity gap that needs to be closed.
I can see from that perspective it makes sense. Still sucks to hear it coming from someone who spent many hours on the first one.
because this is what sequels typically do. If DD can sell over 8 million being the game it was they realized they can make way more than that if they make it better and get new people into it. If just the people who played the first game played this they’ll never make another dragons dogma again.
you think dark soul players were upset elden ring was huge? Nah bro don’t be a gatekeeper it’s just lame, we should be welcoming new players. Seeing ppl new to the franchise being able to play and appreciate DD2 makes other new players want to buy it.
I am just Curious to how far into the game you get the chance to play as the hybrid classes
Is this game playable offline on xbox series x
Yes, but you will need to be online to use others players pawns.
my only hope* is that the pawns either don't talk as much or have more extensive dialogue. other than that DD1 was epic. Cannot wait until the 21st to play DD2
Actually in the first one there is an option in the settings to low to frequency that pawns say stuff
pawns speak more in this game, but there's settings to tweak the amount or just make them silent althogether
Bottom line is that if you've played the original game, then you know what to expect here, as its basically the same game with improvements, tweaks, & new additions.
Were you able to use the parry mechanic any? If so, can you name a game that it closely resembles in feel?
Hey I’m just guessing, but since it’s made by the same team as Devil May Cry 5, I’d say it’s probably similar to the Royal Guard timing in DMC5 which was pretty reliable when you knew the enemies moves.
@@JodyrJoestar That’s what I was guessing too🤔 I just haven’t seen anyone talk about strictly parrying in the game yet. But, I’m still gonna go ahead and preorder it😂
fighter has a timed block mechanic, along with (if we get similar skills to the first game) plenty of invulnerability granting skills too, and from what we’ve seen on trailers it looks like warrior and thief also have counter skills as well
There's no universal parry mechanic in Dragon's Dogma. Fighter can block attacks with his shield, and some classes have "counter" skills, where you simply activate a skill and have to wait for something to hit you within the given time window. It's usually pretty substantial though, so timing isn't that big of an issue.
There's no 60fps on console, right?
uncapped 60
@@erismei uncapped 30*
This is a joke..30fps in 2024..Come on..Another game I will wait for fixes after Ff7
Buy a pc its 2024
@zagon8692 rather my ps5 on my 95inch screen tbh... my pc is left in the corner
Rise of the ronin looks more optimized.. will get that first and will wait for a sale on this one.
Poor bastard
Up your standards
rise of the ronin will just flop, it's just a ubsioft version of Ghost of Tsushima ~ there's not much emulation around rise of the ronin i don't think people will be that interested in another samurai game.
@@kocayine4854 I definitely don't think it will flop. But I don't think the team ninja style looter games suit me
@@colereed2370 don't think it suit anybody tbh, it's generic, animations are subpar, very gamey with big numbers and sponge enemies ~ so fun yea...
Do these monsters just spawn out of knowhere....not a fan of that.
Okay that sucks bye bye now
That’s the point it’s a dynamic world, so every time you go done the same path it’s something different keep u on your toes, helps with immersion
the combat looks fantastic but the enemies seem like they pose no real threat
Then you can try hard mode where enemies are faster and stronger.
This is defo some handpicked game play. Lots of the other previews are showing them get bodied by even wolves, the second lowest enemy in the game. One dude found a drake and got TPK'd in less than 20 seconds. This is at level 22+ mind you, which is a bit low for a drake in the first game but also high enough that getting bodied by wolves is insane.
Yeah we had some footage where our previewer Chris got absolutely battered taking on harder enemies. We couldn’t show it all obviously so our editor picked some that showed what Chris was talking about and some other interesting bits.
The big boss are hidden 😊
Lul just you wait. There are horrors no man has ever seen in the depths of DD.
