    If you throw dice an infinite number of times, eventually you'll get all 6s a thousand times in a row.
    The dice rolls are random, but this "order" could still be formed.

      Anti Theist Words like _random, order and chaos_ are quite misleading, just like concepts like _free will, choice,_ etc.
      From our perspective things seem random and chaotic and we seem to have free will, but the roll of the die is determined by everything that went before it that has a causal relation connecting to the die. It's just that we don't have full information of every quantum state and their effect on everything else. In theory, if you could measure all quantum states of a cigarette and the particles in the visible universe around it without affecting them, you could predict exactly how the turbulence of the smoke moves and what it looks like, but we're a part of this universe, so we can't. We'll have to settle for inaccurate models and simulations and averages and chance calculations.
      Which also give us the sensation of free will, but we never had it and never will. We have the illusion of free will because we are limited in our knowledge and it's not physically possible to have full knowledge. We will have to make do with repeating patterns and making educated guesses, which also gives us a good reason to hold ourselves and others accountable because wild ass guesses shouldn't be treated as equal to or better than educated ones like religion treats them and we are demonstrably better off basing our decisions and hypotheses on actual knowledge instead of made up nonsense. Knowledge = freedom. The more you have of it, the more free you are to make decisions.
      But from the perspective of the universe, there is no order nor chaos and there is no freedom. Those are just our perception of patterns in a particular system we look at. If you look at a grain of sand, the molecules seem ordered, look at a handful and it's chaos, look at the beach, it's ordered, look at the planet and the sand seems random, look at the solar system and it's ordered, the universe and it's chaotic again, but every one of those is structured by the same causal effects and the same physics. The universe just is. The rest is perception.

      Flat earthers LOVE god over a religious conspiracy. Reality vs. Fantasy, which do they choose? Fantasy, mainly. By why try and meld fantasy and reality to make it look like 1 reality and not 2? Yeah, that is how dumb they are! Fantasy is made up, while real-time reality is true reality. Both fantasy and reality do not meld and connect to each other, unless you a little child and love fantasy! Yes, we have a Paralell world that runs through ours, but we do not see it and it does not see us! Those religious fantasy believers think "you can see heaven and heaven can see you!", when that is pure fantasy, not reality. It is a matter of how dumb someone is...

      Numbers are simply labels we use to describe natural phenomena. "I have a rock, I have another rock, now I have two rocks." Counting is resultant of this behavior, and addition is resultant of repeated counting, etcetera. Those laws were inherent until the 1800s when there was a logical crisis in which we needed some very strictly defined laws: Namely, axioms. Axioms are simply the laws that govern how a system works, and the math that we are acquainted is a result of those axioms. So with this in mind, I would like to change the question: Who made logic? I'd argue that logic is not created in the same way maths is, but rather, it is simply inherent in the universe. You cannot have an item that simultaneously is and is not itself.

      Because religion needs an escape from the ever growing presence of science. If you jump into the mathematical, this would be one way to escape. However, us mathematicians require far more rigor than science, so they're doomed.

    • @54-geo
      @54-geo 5 років тому

      @@JM-us3fr I absolutely don't see why religion and science can't go together. Science can't answer questions like if God exists, what happens after death, etc. I think that's the point of religion? It's not meant to answer scientific questions...

    • @JM-us3fr
      @JM-us3fr 5 років тому +1

      @@54-geo Well if most religions made only abstract claims, then that would be absolutely fine; science and religion could live side by side, science answering the physical and religion answering the abstract (to classify spiritual phenomena as nonphysical, they would need to be abstract).
      However, we already have a field that rigorously answers the abstract questions, and that's mathematics. Now religion could try to become a subfield of mathematics, but that would mean they would need FAR more rigor than they typically display, so it's highly unlikely they would (or could) go that route.
      The day an apologist makes a fully formal argument (definitions, axioms, theorems, etc) is the day I will take their argument seriously. Unfortunately, they seem incapable of doing this. It's certainly possible (just look at Kurt Godel's ontological argument), but such arguments are rarely convincing because they don't connect to useful concepts and don't seem to reflect the typically associated properties of a divine being.
      Furthermore, it's pretty black and white that religions DO make many scientific claims. Any physical claim is a claim that can be tested with science, since science studies the physical. On issues where science can't prove something due to lack of evidence, the default position should not be to believe, but to reframe from belief.

    • @54-geo
      @54-geo 5 років тому

      @@JM-us3fr I guess it's up to the individual. I'm a christian and people seem to think that being religious means believing everything in the Bible, which is obviously not true as it would be plain ignorance. You can't say that we know the answers to ALL questions. Religion is there to satisfy us with answers until we reach the actual explanations with science. The Bible is 2000 years old and people didn't know much then, of course it is to be taken with a pinch of salt. Flat earthers are a good example of religious fanatics when it comes to christianity but saying that we all believe the world is flat is like saying all muslims are terrorists

    Actually, we don't *really* know if the universe has constants. It surely seems that way, all experiments we've done up to now point us to that direction, but we're confined to a very small slice of spacetime by cosmic standards so it _might_ be possible that at different places or different times, the laws of physics might be different. But until we find otherwise, we assume they are constants because it works, and because it's simpler. It doesn't matter _why_, it just is that way.
    Math is different, math is not something that's observed, math is something we created, and we created it to be constant. Is not that we have to observe constantly that 2+2=4 in case it changed, it can't change, because the _definition_ of addition lets us prove it without making a single observation, using only basic axioms (which are the base of the definition). The relationship between maths and physics comes later, and while physics might change or not conform to the math, the math is still constant and correct in and of itself.

The quest for why is the reason we understand so much of the universe right now. The problem is when people see a gap and jump to answer with god without justification.

      even if intelligent life would exist if the physical laws were different its still stupid to ask why the laws are the way they are.

After one year, you have 1.01 dollars. After two years you have 1.0201 dollars. And after three you have 1.030301 dollars. And after 1000 years, you have almost 21000 dollars.
