- Quality is only fair. This is a video with some excerpts from the Streisand concert that marked her return to tours after several decades: Las Vegas MGM Grand, December 31, 1993. It was never released. However, Barbra's following concert the next day was indeed released on DVD.
00:00 Overture
03:55 As If We Never Said Goodbye
06:35 I'm Still Here
07:23 Can't Help Lovin' That Man
11:23 Monologue
12:50 I'll Know (with Marlon Brando)
I was there! Paid $1,000 for my ticket, Sat way in back, up high, but it was worth it! Sounded GREAT! Seen her 5 times, since! Thank You!
We were there as well, paid $600 each so probably worse seats than you - but it was a once in a lifetime experience. Seen her every tour since as well.
Was there as well, and also paid $1000,a ticket, Had two seats. we never paid attention to the seat numbers. When we were handing tickets to the usher , we realized one seat was on one side of stage up high, and the other the opposite side! I told the usher how disappointed I was , we never looked at the seat assignments! He was super nice! Told us to hold on moment. He went and talked with someone came back, said follow me. He took us to the floor in front of the stage. We ended up about 17 rows from the stage together, sitting behind many celelbriites! It was wonderful! This guy was super nice! It does pay not to act like a Karen, that is for sure!
@@markp2827 Wow, that’s a great story! Glad it worked out for you. It was a GREAT show! Memories!
Whaaaaaat??? OMG, scary people!!!
I was there too. Paid $2500 for my ticket. I'll always remember when she came out, the audience went crazy. First time I've seen a singer get a standing ovation before he/she has sung a single note. But it was such a natural reaction to leap to our fee.
I was in the audience, and still have vivid memories of it nearly 30 years later. The audience was wired!
My favorite of all her concerts!
I'm currently age 64. I've been in love Barbra and that voice since age nine or earlier. It feels like my entire life. God bless that Ms. Streisand. She'll be loved over and over for many generations to come.
I'm 62 now and got hooked on her voice when I was in grade school - not directly hearing her voice firsthand - very different story 😊 but since then I'm still here immersed in her glorious voice ❤️
I might as well join in on the showing off fun: I was there that night, too. At 5:10 was my approximate view. My then shack-up man surprised the hell out of me with a ticket -- and a $1,000 one to boot! (I found out way later he managed to snag a $600 ticket but MGM Grand FedExed a $1,000 one -- and he was only charged $600.) I will never forget that night nor the show! I saw her live again in 2016 at the SAP Center in San Jose -- a 9th row floor seat. It was fabulous.
Happy memories for you!
It breaks my heart that I was never able to go to a concert of hers. I know I was as dedicated of a fan as I could be. Wish she would’ve done more concerts.
I'm seen Barbra twice in concert
She has been my favorite singer since the 1960s
And herbirthday April 24 is my father's birthday
.
I was there that night. She's was a bit shaky at times in the first half, but I don't think anyone cared much - most of us never expected to see her perform in an actual concert by that time. By the second half of the show, she really hit her stride and even seemed to be enjoying herself. I still remember her unexpected "I did it!" exclamation at the end of the show... I'm not sure even she thought she could pull it off!
Marvelous !!! Thank you Gustavo 💗😉🌹🌹🌹❤️
I heard she waited for Michael Jackson to come to began the show past 8pm
This is absolutely awesome that this even exists!!
Was there in Vegas for those concerts...a memory that has been enhanced by this wonderful post....thank you SO much for these gifts.
I have DVDS of all of her concerts. These unreleased clips are wonderful gems. Many thanks for allowing us to see them. You are certainly spreading extra Barbra pleasure to her fans.
Saw this concert two nights in a row at Anaheim Pond in 1984. The day I die it will be one of my greatest memories. XOXO
Crying that it cut off on As If We Never Said Goodbye before the climax!!!!!
Thank you forever!!!!!!!!!!!!! "Can't help lovin' that mine of mite?!?!". Her impersonators must pay attention on THAT pronunciation. Can't wait for the rest of this concert!
Are you sure she said mite?
I think she was accelerating her next breadth.
This looked more like the ORIGINAL BARBRA TO ME.. somehow her song choices appear to be targeted at Frank.
That song 🎵 belongs to Ava, artistically in my heart Lovin That Man Of Mine... and we dont think Marlon was really that cool. 🤔. Always waited for him to act made his character very unbelievable. .
@@kathrynbencriscutto507 Marlon Brando from Streetcar Named Desire, among others, cannot act? Are you kidding me? I don't know much about his later career but when he first came on the scene I was blown away by how how natural and authentic he was. I totally get what the big deal was about and he was good looking too.
i was there. i wanted to be there for the first night to see that moment when she faced the audience for the first time in 20 years. The next night was supposedly a better performance, but this was what I came to see. So glad to find it here.
You can sense the fear the nerves in her voice when she start singing and as it goes she star overcoming and the strong womderful barbra emerges 💓💓💓
Nervous smervous...what a magnificent performance!
I was lucky enough to see her at Madison Square Garden in '94. Tickets were impossible to get, but I worked and Sony and was able to get one through a friend of a friend. They were turning people away at the door with counterfeits. It was so thrilling and unforgettable. Incredible performance, letter perfect.
Amazing!!! Thank you Gustavo for posting. It’s remarkable how much relaxed and polish she was a day later and by the end of the tour, she was flawless
wow thank you a thousand times! that "can't help lovin dat man" is just like out of this world. those high notes! stunning!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I was there! And now I finally have some video of opening night! My memory only includes brief flashes of awareness that followed countless episodes of self-pinching...
What an amazing experience. There were so many celebrities filing in before the concert started. Michael Jackson had just returned to the states and the dozens of Las Vegas police officers that were protecting him was crazy. Thank you
Was one of the lucky people to have seen Barbra’s return to the concert stage, both shows. Flew in from Amsterdam. Only had a ticket for December 31, but amazingly extra room was made for the January 1 show, so extra tickets were made available. Never thought, after having been a fan of over 20 years, I’d ever see her live.
There as well in 94 in Landover MD. The most thrilling night if my life
However you managed to acquire this, I have to thank you, Gustavo, for sharing this with us. It's always nice to hear different takes and watch different versions of Streisand's performances.
Very interesting so see this and better understand how her presentation evolved. Thanks again.
I used to have this on video. But someone stole it.
But I dont care for Marlon Brando.
I was into theatre before Film .
So knew about the showtunes.
Yet Lovin That Man Of Mine will always belong to Ava in my heart...
Thankyou for posting this. It's wonderful to see the original Barbra.
We were in the $50 seats and it was great! Those seats were $250 in '06 and '12. We splurged in '16...and '19.
Thank you for posting this amazing video....so wonderful to see her actual reaction to that first curtain opening. She certainly got better and stronger as the tour went on. She's amazing and a true gift to this world.
You do have so many treasure in your vault, thanks for sharing!
I remember stumbling all over myself trying to video tape this concert when it was on television. I so regret not flying to Las Vegas when she had the date at MGM.I remember the cheap seats were 100.00. Everybody who was anybody was there. 😜
Another beauty!!!!!! Love it!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you!!!!!!
Breathtaking
Gracias Gustavo !!!! You’re the best !!!
Love the extended version of I"ll Know - later in tour it was mostly cut to the duet, no long intro by Barbra.
The one and only barbra
Her voice was flawless. She looked scared to me but she suffers from stage fright. She was magnificent
Last concert Madison square garden 13th row center red carpet flaws and flawless no singer will ever be that great in my lifetime
Qué bueno Gus!!!!! Excelente!! Gracias por compartirlo!! ¿Lo tenés entero?🤫😊
These clips are included in the DVD release...I just checked my copy and they are there...
Check again. The 01/01/94 Las Vegas concert was released, as well as the August 94 Anaheim one, but not this one.
Seeing this clips proven that many scenes were remixed or re-recorded for the DVD versions as well as the Aneheim concert
The DVD uses most of the scenes of the second concert (January 1st). Right after the first song, she thanks the audience saying "Yesterday was my opening night, tonight is my closing night."
The video we're watching is from the first concert (December 31th)
Do you think that all this concert was filmed?
Is more footage from the 12/31/1993 show available? It was clearly professionally filmed!
‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️♥️
How does one get audio of her Detroit 1994 shows?
Ok amazing! utube smile by john bavas
MJ was there
I love Marlon, but he really couldn't sing. His star power back then got him the role.
The melody of "I'll Know" is gorgeous, and keeps his singing from being a total disaster.
Hi the video was very bad I'm even forgetting what your name is sailing fast ha ha ha ha Barbara I've been watching and listening your words and songs never forever well you know what happened this morning not a happy puppy that was under the belt bye
what??
I was so disappointed in this concert when I saw her in Orange county. She didn't sing out. Her voice was weak and she talked way too much. Hearing these numbers on this video, reminded me how boring the concert was. I was about 34 when I saw this concert and had been a fan since I was 13 years old. The series of concerts after this one were way better, B was really belting out the tunes! In this concert she sang that strange arrangement of the Man That Got Away, and she didn't belt it out. Yes, we went to see her live, but we also wanted to HEAR her. Again, so disappointing. 😢
Hadn't Barbra been ill with viral tracheolaryngitis and had to cancel concerts just before this? That would explain any weakness in her voice.
Geoff- you're right about her having been sick. I went to the Anaheim show as well. Ended up having opening night tickets and she was amazing! I was blessed to go again when she rescheduled the canceled opening night show and she was incredible both night.
Nothing boring about her concert, Nick, just the glory of breathing the same air as her was amazing!
@@jamiebosch3714 you must have had better seats! Haha! When we saw her in Vegas a few years back she was fantastic.
Saw Barbra msg last concert in new York center row13 red carpet with flaws and perfection the one and only will never be topped in my lifetime
Now how did that hit song go again? Oh that's right..." liberals... liberals who need liberals.. are the luckiest liberals in the world."
what's that supposed to mean?
