You have the Original XA, the XA 1 is a different much more simple camera with a selenium lightmeter and the only settings are 100 and 400 ISO, IIRC. The XA gives the most control from all cameras in that series. I love mine. As Olympus said i the ads of that time: The camera pros take on holidays. Thanks for another great video.
Great video. Love me some old Oly's My personal two faves are the 35RC and I recently found a 35LC and so far am in LOVE with it. Dual meter read outs on it are just slick. and the 42mm f/1.7 lens with the Copal-X leaf shutter is just rad. If you see one, I highly recommend.. It will put that XA in a drawer someplace.
@@ribsy The 35RC is a real gem for a tiny pocket camera. Fantastic lens. just keep the shutter working properly ( they can get sticky). Also don't trust the meter / auto mode. Sunny 16 it.
Been shooting on the XA for 3 years now and in all this time it's been with me almost every day just bc it's so easy to carry around. Got me most of my favorite photos that already filled two zines and one book. Great camera, hope you find your ways with it:)
Awesome Ribsy! Was so so hoping this performer was gonna turn up in one of your videos and be talked about, loved seeing the results on Instagram. - looking forward to the future project you do with him and the pics/video if you share it. Other pics are ace in this too 🤟
Love the close up shot of the Parisian girl. Hey Ribsy, keep that glossy paper for B&W prints, great for contrast in B&W, not so great for colour (as you know). 😀
XA great little camera, if you put a very small square piece of black electric-tape in the centre of your viewfinder it becomes very easy to focus. Enjoy 👍🏻
The second shot I prefer the greener-ish photo of the musician. A Parisian girl smoking a cigarette, the wider shot for me. All of the prints turned out nice. The Olympus has just a small size difference from the Hasselblad 🤣🤣 It shouts street photography. great update 2x👍
@@ribsy yeah i’m pretty sure you get it. Dude, just be respectful to women by not calling them an adolescent term. Just like you’re not a HS-aged boy making YT videos.
The close-up portraits is just wow, the colors, her looks, it’s just great!
thank you! yea it turned out great
The photos you got were great! It's so nice sometimes to slow down and be more intentional with shooting. And that olympus xa is *chefs kiss*🌸✨
thank you! ya we'll see about the olympus haha
@@ribsy haha hopefully it treats you well. My friend has one and get's some pretty dope images from it.
It's great that you didn't give up on your vison!!, Nice to see some prints as well! Aces
yea persistence is key!
Great video Ribs! love the pictures of the woman in Washington Square Park, you're killing it man 👌

Wow! That parisian girl photo looks amazing. Both the girl and the pictures. I would put them on my wall.
thank you! it was a nice capture
@@ribsy Hey Ribsy! let me know if you ever are in Stockholm! I’ll show you around.

What Sekonic meter are you using? What technique did you use to meter in the subway.
Sekonic L-308X-U Flashmate Light Meter

interesting point! i'll give that a shot
I just got an XA from by dad which was my uncles- it's not working, but I think it might be worth seeing if I can get it repaired...
ahh bummer!
Love the photos. Can I ask why is it that you don’t like glossy paper?

Keepin up w Ribsy lol
hah yes!
Nice! :)

Do the Transit Police hassle the performers or just leave them alone.
they do sometimes. depends on their mood haha
language matters. representation matters. she is a woman, not a “girl.”
i don't think i said anything wrong
