Brother, good interaction on the fly when you had trouble w your hassy. "lets check out the polaroid photo while I try to fix the hassy" So good dude, this only comes with experience and knowing how to keep calm during tuff situations. Props Ribsy, keep doing you
I love your interactions with people. Very natural and organic. You mentioned Bruce Gilden, I find you share the experience with your subjects, where he takes it for himself. If that makes any sense.
Great episode, man! Been watching your channel since developing in England 👏🏼👏🏼 don’t worry about the output keep following your intention 💎 looking forward to the next episode. Be well!
Hard lesson learned. Same thing happened to me 3 hours from home, my 500 jammed. Now a Blad tool is part of my kit. A 3/16” screwdriver is cheap enough. If yours is jamming that much, it might be timefor service.
Back in the day Hasselblad made a special very hard plastic screwdriver just for resetting the shutter on the lens when it was attached to the body. A regular screwdriver works just fine as long as you don't slip and scratch the lens. Also Hasselblad has always recommended that you store the camera with the lens and body cocked and the film back advanced. So I've gotten in to the habit of advancing the camera after every shot before I do anything else
yer that happens ,each time to it happens to me, my heart sinks , once it happens a half dozen times, you start to relax , its a reminder to slow and down and focus on the camera .. , carrying a screw driver , penny ( for the body) or hasselblad tool is a must !! that was a well dressed man at the end ( nothing wrong with dressing well and looking your age) . Some interesting shots well done with those , the polaroid back its such a bonus , I love mine . I have one from the hasselblad expert (UA-cam channel) ... lomo 92 would suite Nyc well , I think .. ps its always better to say your a resetting the hassle .. fix implies broken or bust .. which it is not , you are being punished for improper technique and process ..
Hehehe, nice work Eric Just imagining some of the afficiandos clutching pearls at your DIY work. Only thing more shocking would be some Leica folk 🤭 Now if only I could do that kinda fix with my C330 winder issue or my 6x9 folder trigger problem. Love your portrait work. Keep spreading the joy.
I have zero issues approaching people. I have zero issues asking to take a photo or shooting without. But I would get soooo anxious 'in the moment' and not be able to ask of the random people anything. Lighting bad, pose bad, background bad, no problem. I take the photo however it is. But Ribsy, no only tells them where to move, but then goes on to take multiple photos in multiple places, even so much as telling them multiple times to lower their face and glasses. I would pass out at this point jajaja 16:33
The instant film back looks great. Some people shot like a machine gun scattering the world with thousands for crap snaps and the odd interesting photo they got accidently and think they are photographers. Shooting film would slow them down and save on memory. Great video 👍👍
I'm not a street photographer but I really like your style of street portraiture as opposed to the cats that just random click people. Your vibe lends itself nicely to what you do. I've been into photography since the mid 80s. Nowadays I do mostly live music. Keep up the great work.
I have followed you since England & you just get better & better! The challenges of film are frustrating & rewarding.
Really appreciate you!

New fav channel not just for the dope jazz background music

If that makes any sense.

You were on fire in this one
I felt good! 😊
Awesome work, I love the vibe of those portraits

Preparation is key!
Man Ribs I was thinking about a hasselblad but you're talking me out of it lol I'll probably go with a Bronica sq-A
bronica sq is a great camera. best bang or your buck and just as functional and modular as a hasselblad
Bravo 👏🏼 Super entertaining episode. Made my day!
thanks for watching

Do you think your energy changes when in NY, compared with the UK?
Yea def. More casual and straight to the point in nyc
Just me randomly taking a photo of Trinidad James at the end. Hahahahahaha.

Ribsy, Fixed the 550CM on your own mate! Nerve wracking when the camera locks up.
Haha def nerve wracking, luckily it’s a simple fix

The solution to your problem is simple: just buy another Hasselblad and have that Instax thing on it permanently. Just saying. ☺
