Wonderful to hear the sounds of nature & to see life blooming again in spring. The absence of intrusive music was indeed special. Thank you & I look forward to enjoying your river experiences. Derick.
Looks lovely Luke, even though we have some fantastic trout fishing over here in Australia I do miss fishing the rivers and streams of my native Northumberland. Bamboo, silk lines and a proper pint afterwards is pretty much my idea off the perfect day out .
A hopeful spring, here the Eden has a harsh north wind sleet flurries and is recovering from a big spate. But hopefully there will be olives and I can be distracted from the idea of salmo salar.Sand Martins raise the spirit and thoughts turn to a Poult Bloa or Snipe and Purple
Thank You Simon. We've had that cold wind roll in from the north which has rather slowed things down a touch. Still the season is going in the right direction so it won't be too long until things get going properly.
Great to see you out and about wetting a line again Luke. Hope to be out myself in the next few weeks with the new Carbon fibre rod. Do keep the posts coming
Hello Peter. It was good to get back out on the river, I hope you can get out soon. Things are certainly starting to move on the river now, once this cold front has passed over I think it will be properly up and running. I hope you enjoy the rod, that 8ft'er is a lovely river rod.
Such a lovely optimistic video. I have started back on the Wear and have had some success with tungsten beads but looking forward to using dry flies again. Tight lines for the rest of the season.
The nymph was definitely the most effective, there were on ro two rising fish, but they were "occasional" risers which are always awkward fish. #flyfishing #riverfishing
Thanks for sharing Luke, it was worth the wait. I missed my window here in France, bad weather at the opening, water too cold and now we are locked down again, absolutely gutted. Please get out there and keep sharing, cabin fever is rearing it's ugly head here already, today would of been perfect but .. noooo 😔
Thank You Corto. Glad you enjoyed it. Sorry to hear that you can't get out on the water. We were locked down until a few days ago. I will certainly be getting out again soon and I'll be sure to take the camera.
I stuck with the nymph/wet ( a winter brown) very little surface activity. There had been grannom coming off, but on that day everything was a bit slow. Which is rather typical of early season fishing..can be very good, can be not so good.

Thank You Derick. It was great to be back out on the water, and the birds were in very good voice.
I'll be out on the water again soon.
Nice one 👍
Thanks, hopefully I'll get out again soon.
So so good to see you posting again. Looking forward to more therapeutic videos
Thanks Seth. I'll be out again with the rod and camera soon.
This is so relaxing to watch
Thank You Sebastián, I'm heading up to Wales this week so hope there should be another video up soon.

Thanks Kris, mid-Wales has some lovely water, the beers not bad either.

Such a lovely optimistic video. I have started back on the Wear and have had some success with tungsten beads but looking forward to using dry flies again. Tight lines for the rest of the season.
Thanks Geoffrey. I hope you're seeing signs of spring up there, and the fish start to look up soon.
Glad to see the you have not forgotten anything! Tight Lines Luke!
Must admit I was a little rusty, it's been a long winter.
But it was great to be back on the water.
Hope your season goes well.
Great stuff Luke water looks familiar
Thanks Mike. Thought you'd recognize it.
They done loads of work on it given it a good trim but left it looking very natural.
Good to see you back on the river. Can't wait to do the same. Not long now.
Thanks Tim, hope the season goes well.
Ah I see now tungsten nymph

Brilliant , been waiting for the new video, very nice water were you on nymph, wet or dry ?
