  • With lots of 40K lore knowledge but absolutely zero model building or painting skills (though perhaps slightly more than that, now!), a noob decided to blindly take the plunge. Watch him blunder along into the hobby of miniature painting!
I hope this video can help you improve your painting as I do!

'Slapchop' is priming the model dark, and then zenithal priming/drybrushing a lighter color from directly over the model/raised edges to give 'natural' shadows, followed by using high-pigmented washes otherwise known as contrast paints, which when applied over the model's darker recesses and brighter edges, provide a shadow-midtone-highlight effect with a single coat of paint. The only real skill required is brush control when applying the high-pigment color.

@@AdeptusArtifexus I have painted a few ultra marines but I really want to get into grey knights. They're a bit tricky but I tested painting a regular space marine inspired by grey knights and I might get a grey knight strike squad now. We'll see how it goes.

Love it bro! Because of you, I decided to magnetize the weapons as well! Totally worth it you made it look way easier than I was able to do. You sure are talented bro.

Thankyou kindly! 😁 yeah, it's such a satisfying thing when you successfully magnetise a mini! & it probably only looked easy because i've done a few at this point 😅

if you are gonna do more "bullet" impacts and stuff I would recommend Tamiya Putty or something like it to fill in the hole/impact and after it has dried up a bit (not entirely) poke it with a brush (not the brush end) and you will get something that looks like deformed metal... I use this method on my Imperial Guard tanks and it do look like bullet impacts that did not pen.

I'm guessing because on the weapons profile, they are "twin linked," that means the model has to depict 2 of the same weapon. So can't mix and match
