    Awesome video, love the commentary. That was a beast of a brown! Scott will gladly replace Chris’ rod after seeing the pic of him with the beast.

    Any fly recommendations for fall on the South Platte? I’m heading here in October.

      Well, if you're nymphing you can't go wrong with a simple blood midge and flashback pheasant tail. Really any beatis pattern will work. I tend to like the original Juju Beatis in a size 18-22. As far as streamers go, I like a black leach pattern, the Autumn Spender, or an olive Sculpzilla. Hope this helps. -Tim

    I broke the frame of my old net on a big cutthroat last February. Oh, well, gave me a good excuse to upgrade the net...
    Wonderful video. I need to try that stretch the next time I visit my brother.

      Thanks, Robert. I’m always searching for any excuse to buy new gear, but I always hate it when I break things. I broke my Native Net after a nasty fall last winter. Would have rather broke it netting a trout like you. -Tim

    Did you add sink tips to your fly line to get down to the deeper pools for the salmon or did use use weight on your tippet?

    • @CombatFlyFishing
      @CombatFlyFishing  2 роки тому +2

      No sink tip. I use a floating line with a 12' leader and I add split shot to my tippet about 16-20" above my first fly. -Tim

    Great video. Could you see the Kokanee in the deeper runs? Like the the one at the wind chimes? Or were you blind fishing the deep runs/pools?

    • @CombatFlyFishing
      @CombatFlyFishing  3 роки тому

      In nearly every deep run I could see the shadows of a few kokes. -Tim

    How do you like that Moonshine rod? I’ve heard good things about them.

    • @CombatFlyFishing
      @CombatFlyFishing  3 роки тому

      I think it’s a great rod. It’s a Vesper 9’ 5wt. It’s a fast action rod and it casts well. I highly recommend it. -Tim

    Nice video! I'm curious if you were fishing a two fly rig, or just a single fly to avoid spooking fish.

    • @CombatFlyFishing
      @CombatFlyFishing  3 роки тому +1

      EMC, I was using a two fly rig throughout the day and so was Kris. -Tim

    Were you using Tim's super worm? Is the super worm too big for small streams?
