That Ultramarine matalic violet on the Space Marines is very cool. That new terrain set certainly leaves a lot of open space on the tabletop compared to the previous one. "They can't stop all of us!" sounds like a very Tau rallying cry. I presume that Tzeentch is the Ruinous Power of Dice; it looks like his plans didn't include the Space Marines hitting much today.
They shouldnt. This box is lackluster to say the least. The reivers are barely up to 80-90 points, the FWs are almost 100 points but apart from the drones and the missle turret they are worthless and useless. If you want to start Tau sell the FWs immediately and get Pathfinders, maybe stealth suit and drones. Otherwise the terrain and the book has value in the box.
For The Greater Kill Team which is what I did last year. 2 boxes of Stealth Suits 1 box of Pathfinders. Kill Team consists of 3 Stealth Suits and 3 Pathfinders, 2 with Rail Rifles 1 as a com specialist with Marker light
@@KillTeamHungary We have done the FW with rifles and extra pistols, as the Breachers appeared useless with their short range. Also added some pathfinders for the rail rifles and a second marker light.
I hate the Reiver modells. Just...jeah your derpi little marines at least look like they are buffed. Reivers look like the Size and the shape....like from a different game. They just suck visually in my opinion.
One thing, I think you forgot the terror inducing characteristic of reivers. Lots of tau within 1 inch of your reivers. Unless I didn't catch when you did the saving throws?
Awesome vid. I learnt something new! I didn’t realise the whole being within 1” affecting movement even if they move away first. Funny the things you transpose from 40k and assume you know.
I’m pre-ordering this today. A little disappointed about the low terrain count, also reivers are not real Astartes in my eyes. But it’s still a decent place to start as a gateway drug into the 40k moneysink.
It's a shame Ask forgot to show us the Space marine tactics. I imagine if he had used the one with "fight again" he could have killed off a few of the Tau he was just flesh wounding. Very interesting idea on how to fight with shooters against melee units. I was surprised when Owen move first and put his guys in charge range of the Reivers.
you DONT count jumping distance as a vertical distance, it is in the newest Designer Commentary as well: Q: When my model jumps down, do I count the vertical distance moved against the distance my model can move (e.g. if my model has jumped down 3", is it considered to have moved 3")? A: No. So that Tau made advance easily.
It’s Greenstuff World Cobalt Blue airbrushed over gloss black primer. A bit of nuln oil to darken the recesses and Stormhost silver edging and that’s it apart from details.
Awesome paint job! ¿how complicated is this game, compared to Warcry?. And, the box aviable at GW web site right now, ¿is the same you used here?. Regards!
Death denied comes from the elite supplement so wasn't available. Otherwise Ash would have been using the ultramarines chapter trait and shooting after falling back.
Shouldn't each and every Fire Warrior be carrying a pulse pistol? It's free and a S5 shot into CC per blueberry would have really hurt. More than the rifle butts, thats for sure.
22:48 model that has fallen back cant react anymore that turn and can only shoot in the shooting phase is it has fly. Come on guys, its been more that a year :) 24:32 you guys skipped the moral phase
Why isnt the Tau player using For The Greater Good? Makes absolutely no sense not using it especially when he will be the underdog 9/10 times vs reivers? Why isnt there any uses of Septs?
Breachers have close range guns that hit hard, the thing he should have done is use ‘for the greater good’ so that other models within 6” could overwatch with the breachers
Hey. (I‘m sorry, but my english is not very well). In some videos you have got red „marker“ under your leader. Were can i get some of this nice stuff? Thanks a lot for your nice Videos. I like them and it is hard to find Videos in german language specialy for kill team. And i like your paintjobs 😁👍🏻
Thanks as always for the review, Ash! It's nice to see the full contents of the box. Out of curiosity do you get the unique team Tactic cards that originally came in Fangs of Ulfrich and Advance Team Starpulse? Can't seem to deduce that from looking at the GW content list.
As someone who has never played Warhammer before or Kill Team for that matter, there appears to not be a lot of strategy to this game since the board is flat with little terrain. Am I missing something? Are you just bringing your troops to the center and rolling till your dead?
Kinda. With more terrain it is more tactical. There are also a bunch of rules/options they are missing/forgetting. I did get 10 large and small bits of terrain out of the box.
The game is super tactical. Adding more terrain gives opportunities for interesting positioning and the different missions in the book alter the strategy involved a lot. If you don’t play with enough terrain, it can feel a bit like a game of superior firepower instead of strategy...
@2:24 What a letdown with the amount of terrain you get. I understand its basically the cost of the two armies but compares to the OG box its a shame. I got one of the last copies in Australia of the OG box (according to the GW I got it from) so I was insanely lucky.
D'OH! Owen forgot to use the Tau 'For The Greater Good' combined Overwatch fire! Might have made a difference in preventing those charges from landing. Guess he's used to his tricksy Tyranids instead of commie camel fishmen!
He might have been worried about losing the ability to overwatch subsequent charges. He was being baited into doing it and if he had about 3 reivers would have gone in with no overwatch.
@@T-mobol Do note this set does not come with Thermic Plasma Conduits, which the former Sector Mechanicus Terrain Set did include. They did basically the same thing with the "old" starter set, where they included a Basilicanum without the statues to keep the price down.
