Also, chorus sounds great on clean chords. That’s all I ever used Chorus for. And less is more when dialing up the depth and especially rate.

That rate really sounded horrible, I don't know why they even let it go up that high :)

Found one listed locally for $20. After watching your video I’m definitely picking it up. Thanks for the demo!

Nice attention to detail on the speaker cloth.. I just went and purchased the WIHA Chip Puller.. I have several WIHA screwdrivers but not this IC puller.. Thanks for the tip... I have a few upcoming restoration projects that consist of nearly all the IC being in sockets, so this will help in their removal...

Great job Ronnie, on both the chorus and the grill cloth.
In Australia in the 70s and 80s there was a legendary band (in Australia anyway) called Sherbet. At some stage they changed their name to Sherbs and put out a superb album called “The Skill”. You may have heard Howzat….I remember seeing them at The Rocks in Sydney. That night I got right up to the stage so I could check out Harvey James, their guitar player. When I got right in front of him I remember being really shocked…Instead of a Marshall and a quad box or two, Harvey had a Yamaha 100 combo amp. Also he had it on the floor in front of him, using the amp as his own on stage monitor. Harvey had a great sound and style, and he just sounded killer. This was an early lesson for me. What I learned was that a good guitar player can sound good with just about any equipment. Your crate amp is similar to that Yamaha 100. Both were never classed as top shelf choices for getting a great sound, ….but I just bet you that if you give that crate amp to a good player, he or she will sound just fantastic with it. It’s a great little amp. As a guitar player if you want to improve your sound you don’t actually need a bigger, louder, more expensive amp….If you work on your playing, then that’s the main thing to getting to sound better. I reckon this crate amp is a keeper Ronnie.
Thanks for a really enjoyable video.

Yeah I've heard it explained with Eric Clapton, if you hand a $100 guitar to Eric Clapton he's going to make it sound great, if you hand a $10,000 guitar to someone who can't play it's not going to sound like Eric Clapton is playing it! My guitar heros from the 90's were all grunge bands and a lot of them were playing little cheapo guitars on cheap amps.

Very interesting story. I didn’t know about the white strat. I’ve always associated Buddy Holly with a sunburst Stratocaster. …but he only played it once? Wow. ….I’m looking for the white one, … I’ll let you know.

I looked it up, the story is pretty muddy. It appears he had several that were sunburst and they're not sure he ever had a white one, but someone claimed he had 2 white ones from "Manny's". He had a 54 two tone that was stolen in 1957. He bought a replacement two tone, 1957 strat that was stolen in April of 58. He bought a THIRD one, that was the one on the bus so he played the third one more than once. So the story is basically there are TWO stolen Buddy Holly guitars that we know of floating around out there somewhere, both sunburst and no proof he ever had a white one.

Very interesting. ….I also had a sunburst Stratocaster stolen in about 1980. ….I still remember the serial number. It was 767767 ….a pallendrome I believe. …haven’t seen it since then, but I’ll know it if I ever do.

WAIT!!!! If your off in the weeds, Then forget the Signal Generator or Oscilloscope, get yourself a Weed Wacker!!!! 🙂
Good call on directly soldering it in, moving it around could cause the part to fall out unless you had a special type of socket designed to hold the part Tight!!!

I was born in 78 so I had never heard it before Nirvana... I remember at the time though we all knew it was a David Bowie song, such a memorable little riff...
