Absolutely! I saw them on the 2022 Stadium Tour in Detroit and the Crue closed out. Def Leppard should’ve closed, they KILLED IT!! The Crue have lost their mojo.
Yeah, its not that they arent writing great tunes nowadays, its just that back then there were on some sort of magic ride with the writing, the songs all have almost a comic book novelty concept in a great way.
@@TonyFromSyracuse101 I agree. Steve had a lot to do with this style of songwriting. Nowadays, and I mean this with the utmost respect to them, they write mostly mom rock.
I remember introducing guys in college who played Pour Some Sugar On Me on repeat to 'On Through the Night' and 'High n Dry.' They thought Pyromania was the first album. They still played Hysteria to death, but at least they knew. :)
You see boys and girls? This how the big boys and real musicians do musics. It's still good since the 80's and it sound like the album's. This real rock and roll
First “3” LP’s are nothing short of fantastic, each LP was watching a band grow before your eyes & being 56yo now I feel so grateful having watched this all happen in real time.
Yep, yep, & yep. (Same genx age) Remember doing our own concerts with me as drummer on bucket with cardboard cymbals to high n dry and pyromania. (Mostly pyromania 😉)
I agree with the exception of one main thing that I think you really can't disagree with as well. They really need to have the lead singer's voice coming out a bit more. I understand why they are subduing it so that it's not overbearing but they really need to bring it out more unfortunately. Other than one small part during the song that they missed a guitar part that was a little bit lower, it sounded pretty good.
I have tremendous respect for Rick Allen!!!!!!!! It boggles my mind that despite losing his left arm in a car accident, he’s still playing the drums for Def Leppard!!!!!!!! If that’s not inspirational for drummers to keep going, I don’t know what is!!!!!!!!! He’s one of my favorite drummers ever!!!!!!!!!!
Joe Elliot has said in interviews that when Rick had both of his arms, he would try to overcomplicate the songs with his playing. Since he lost his arm, he had to simplify his playing
True, Steve Clark had an unbelievable gift of being able to produce amazing melodic riffs. Switch 625 is a masterpiece . Whilst still a great band after Steve's passing IMO they never managed to recreate the songwriting magic that they had with Steve .
As much as I enjoyed 3/4ths of Motley on the 2022 tour, Leppard was night and day different in quality of performance. I appreciate them so much because they strive to put on a great live show.
I saw Def at my local 6000 seat arena on their Hysteria tour in 1988. They were late due to border patrol holding them up at the Canadian/US border. They apologized to the crowd, got us all psyched up, began playing awesomely as Def Leppard only can, and the ladies bras started piling up quickly on their mic stands like the store racks they were bought from, because they were playing on an "in the round" stage for that tour. Magical night that made an impression on a young teenage guy of 14 who's also a musician! The 70s and 80s were the best and I'm so glad I was alive to experience such great years!
@@gfgranja Hysteria's best songs were the ones that never hit the radio. God's of War, Run Riot, Don't Shoot Shotgun. Women was good and I guess it actually did get released but is often overlooked.
As always, well done! I love Def Leppard...It would also be great to hear Desert Song and Pearl of Euphoria performed live. Absolutely amazing songs!!!
Oh yeah, one of my favorite tunes off of Pyromania. More of a deep cut here, but honestly, that entire album is awesome! Not one single bad tune there!
Always been my favorite song off pyromania. Because of that long, long lead break all through the middle of it.dude its like 2+ minutes 😂, gotta love these guys!
I'm sad to say, I think alot of this was due to Steve Clark, God rest the man's soul. They never have really been the same since he's been gone, I imagine on several levels.
A lot of Def Leppard songs sound easy on guitar but the chord progressions are so different sometimes, that it’s hard to play. The intro for this song is a tricky one to get used to. “Billy’s got a gun” is another tricky one in some spots. It was so clever how DL and Steve Clark put them all together to create a masterpiece. “PYROMANIA” FOREVER !!!
Honestly peeps I think D L just love music and are dedicated craftsman…. It’s important to them as their fans are as well. They seem like solid human beings in every way…
The very most talented Rock band ever! ❤Masterpiece music and sound!!! Icons of Rock! Phil is the sexiest best guitarist ever and I love him so much! The entire band is very talented and natural raw talent!
I hope Vince and Nikki are watching and taking notes
I was just thinking the same thing!! No need to pay hundreds or thousands of dollars for shit👎. Def Leppard still bringing it 🤘🏻💯
💯
doubt it
BOOM! For the win!
Absolutely! I saw them on the 2022 Stadium Tour in Detroit and the Crue closed out. Def Leppard should’ve closed, they KILLED IT!! The Crue have lost their mojo.
GOD I wish they would still write tunes like this. This was when Def Leppard ruled the world.
Steve and Mutt are gone from the writing.Mutt tweaked most of their demo's into hits.
It’s not that they can’t, but they choose not to. Very frustrating but they don’t owe me a damn thing.
@@beansandcornbread Yeah, it is frustrating. They've always been about moving on and growing but they have to know us fans want more of this.
Man the first three Def Leppard albums rule!!!!

the first one FOR SURE

There is no fake rock & roll.
@@ivc5150listen to their euphoria album, sounds killer. I’d argue it’s adrenalize 2.0. With adrenalize obviously being hysteria 2.0.

I would say their first 4 albums....Hysteria was amazing
@rong.2457 was gonna say the same thing 🤣 but you beat me this song is from the fourth Hysteria.

Ronan Mchugh is their FOH Engineer. He has been mixing them for 20 plus years. He also engineers their Studio work. He is a real talent.
I was lucky enough to grow up rocking to bands like this, never gets old to me. ❤
Ya classic rewind.
Def Leppard in 2024. This is awesome!
Def lep never get old,Vivian is doin steve right,RIP stephen Maynard clark

When Circus mag had their "best of" contests I always voted for Rick Allen for most underrated drummer. HE NEVER WON!
Yet another 'gift' from the lyrical and musical genius of this band Seven Maynard "The Riffmaster" Clark.

Great band....I swear they get better as they age..
Def Lep still one of the greatest bands ever formed. Def Leppard's debut album, On Through the Night, was released on March 14 1980.
No.
Remember when they came out of nowhere and just blew you away 😂 their sound was so epic
@@MarcusSandoval-kx2th Indeed so true.

Def Leppards Pyromania album (1983), not a boring song on it. Close to perfect hard rock album. Comin' Under Fire is my personal favourite.
And the last good hard rock album they made.
@@joncope9175 That's subjective, but I tend to agree.
@@joncope9175Disagree. Slang is very heavy, so is their 2015 self titled. Their newest album Diamond Star Halos has some heavy tracks on it too.
Yeah, "Comin' Under Fire" would have to rate as one of my favs too!
Great example of everything that they did very well at that time.
What a treat for the fans. This is great!
The long gray hair - the black sequence outfit. Joe rockin' the Helen Mirren look!
" Better to burn out then fade away."
very cool to hear them perform a deep cut from way back in the day...def still killing it🤘
