@@willomalley7619 If the offensive player fumbles the ball into the endzone and the ball then rolls over the endzone backline or sideline, by rule that is a touch back. This time, the ball flew directly over the pylon, which is, at the same time, part of the end zone and part of the endzone sideline. It is a bit of an odd rule. If the ball had been fumbled OB on the filed of play and flew over the sideline at the one yard line, its 1st and goal for the Vikings. A few inches cost them 7 points. The rule basically treats the fumble like an Eagles end zone recovery, but there was no Eagles end zone recovery in fact. I'm not sure I'm happy with a rule that does not follow the reality that occurred. Maybe the rule is in place to prevent the offense from fumbling the ball forward into, then out of, the end zone when the player knows he's being tackled short of the goal line. The penalty of loss of possession and loss of field position still seems like overkill, though.
Swift is straight up explosive 😮 Was very impressed as an Eagles fan. Knew all along he was the most talented back, was only a matter of time before we found out for sure. Still like Gainwell, but he should be a change of pace guy, or maybe carry a 25% workload while Swift is RB1, and Penny and Scott contribute situationally
Kirk Cousins has been hit 19 times over the past 2 games, and has 6TDs and 1INT that wasn't his fault. That has to be a record of some sort. This guy has no OLINE, no run game, and still standing in the pocket ripping it to everyone.
Swift is an absolute stud! bro balled out. Close game but the Eagles improved from week 1 and that’s all that matters. if they keep this trend up they will be back where they were last season in no time. You can tell we were missing the presence of Bradberry and Blankenship though, so im glad we’ll probably have them for week 3 on a 10 day rest
I understand why us birds fans are still a bit skeptical about brian johnson, but the fact that he completely changed the gameplan to run first, and stuck with it, is a very good sign that he is capable of making in-game adjustments. As an Eagles fan the Eagles have definitely play mid-poor the last 2 games. BUT they know how to win games and do the little things better than almost any team in the league. Don't know if they'll got to the Super Bowl again this year, but you can never count them out.
Reminds me of the Vikings with Favre in the Conference Championship against the Saints. That game was plagued with fumbles by so many Vikings players. They still had a chance in the end though.
Prettier than last week for Philly. Showed improvement from Week 1 to Week 2. I'd like to see the OC get a bit better at managing the game and adjusting to what opposing defenses are doing, but he got there (just can't take that long against teams that aren't coughing up the ball). The defense needs to get healthy. Hopefully, these snaps for the young backups will benefit them as the season progresses and they won't make the bad decisions they made against Minnesota. As someone else wrote, we're learning and we haven't had to lose games to do it.
If I see another check down on 3rd and 15 I might jump off my roof, but I agree much better in week 2 even if they were still quite lucky with some turnovers.
Timelin of NFL's Tackling rules - 2013 - A Reasonable Compromise " A player must not use the crown of the helmet when making a tackle. " 2018 - Off The Deepend " A player cannot lower his head when attempting to tackle." 2022 - Hitting Rock Bottom " A player cannot touch another player with his helmet when attempting to tackle. "
OC is new and calling some weak plays like people don’t have tape from last season Need to mix in some screens and run the ball and leave the QB design runs alone
Now that was a great game! Both teams looked great! The Vikings may be 0-2 but they did just play one of the best teams. And they played great despite losing! Congratulations Eagles!

Brian Johnson might be a problem. Hurts is still elite, made a mistake and bounced back. Very conservative game from him and sprinkled some deep shots. Kelce said post game both the Pats and Vikings used unorthodox coverages to negate the big play. They will adapt and continue to improve
Good to see Philly win but my goodness that was much more closer than it should have been considering the number of turnovers Vikings had. GG Minnesota :)
3 starters down in the secondary. Hurts trying to get use to this new offense and offensive coordinator his family friend. It's going to take 4 or 5 more games for the secondary to catch up with the defensive line. Also, for the new offensive and defensive coordinators to put everything together.
Vikes played great! Turnovers are the only thing to hate about. OL played decent. Defense played incredible minus a couple inevitable bombs. Only reason we couldn’t stop the run is because that’s the best OL in the league. I still like us at 11-6/12-5. Take care of the ball and we’re a powerhouse
This Eagles, Vikings game reminds me of one of thier games back in 2016 when both teams had like 7 combined turnovers in the first quarter. That was Wentz' rookie year. The Vikings were the last undefeated team and they fell apart after that game and finished 8-8, missing the playoffs.
Cousins absolutely out-passed Hurts tonight. And again we see the Eagles' DL not getting to the QB in time to prevent throws to loosely covered receivers. Same as Game 1 on Sunday. Opponents are figuring out how to wreck our defense, and bottle up Hurts. If there's not improvement, this isn't going to be another 1-loss season. As an Eagles fan, I can only hope Cowboys aren't as dominant as they looked against Giants.
You don’t have to worry brotha, it’s the cowboys , and they still have mike McCarthy the worst clock manager in NFL history. I truly believe they will always be average with dak, McM and jerry.

To everyone in the comments , the eagles are still adjusting to this new offense , hurts is still adjusting , this offense put up 34 points and like 450 yards of total offense , and they still haven’t played to their full potential , and trust me when that happens the league is in trouble . Also what did y’all expect was going to happen with the defense , the eagles had three key starters out ( bradberry , Blankenship and dean) and were facing one of the best passing offenses last night .
Stop acting like the Eagles having injuries are exclusive. The Vikings missing multiple starters on the OL, and that defense the Eagles faced was just assembled this year (new coordinator). It's week 2 for everyone bruh - NOBODY is playing their top ball yet - give me a break
@@guyblack172 He's just making the point that the Birds were down 3 of their most key pieces in the pass defense and the Vikes have some of the most effective weapons when it comes to the passing game. It's a recipe for disaster, even with a stacked roster, when you don't match up well with the opposing teams strongest part of their game. Every team whines about injuries, get over it
Sounds like excuses from both sides
I just watched the highlights, but the Vikings looked pretty good passing the ball, but without a run game. Philly had the run game and was able to keep the ball and eat clock. That 61 yard field goal was great. These both look like playoff teams.
Eagles can rely on the run game more than they know. Rashad penny is great too. 175 yards for swift is unreal. Good win for an underdog team this year.
Underdog team? Pretty sure they’re favourites to make it back to the SB in the NFC 😂
Underdog team is DELUSIONAL. Period.
They’re ranked #1 along with KC and 9ers to make it to the SB
Well because they have 2 RBs on the field every play
Anyone can run with that O-line.
No one going to mention the 61 yard haymaker from the golden leg? that heat could have cleared from 70
On a short week I’ll take it. Needs improvement of course but there’s so much potential one week at a time 🦅🦅
They've got a week and a half now to get rest and make adjustments. Time to fly 🦅🦅

Y’all bad plays away from being 0-2 slimmer down

Run the ball!!! Yes sir !!! 🦅🦅🦅🦅
The Vikings defensive line had Jalens number all night. Kirk was alright too. It was them fumbles that done it for em.
It’s only week 2 but it’s without a doubt that the Eagles, 49ers, Cowboys and Lions are on a completely different level than everyone else in the NFC. Would be absolutely stunned if the NFC championship game didn’t involve 2 of them, and all would be incredible games no matter how they match up
As a Lions fan, I would like to say that too, but I'm afraid that I'd get a little lost in my budding hope.
It's only week 1 plus a bit, a lot can still happen, many teams are still playing below their level and one might be above it.
I think it's a bit early to make a prediction now.
Let's wait for week 7 or 8 and then we'll talk again. :)
Lions loll

Good fellow! But keep your hope. It's part of the love we all share for the game. Yes it's a very long season. We play the Jets next. Hope Rogers recovers. Sorry we don't get to play him. Was looking forward to our defense making him eat the ball!! It's still going to be a tough game with both offensive guards with injuries and B. Cooks not looking forward to an undrafted rookie playing RG, instead of HOF bound Zack Martin. Sighs. That's why we play the games. Injuries are also obstacles you have to overcome just like your opponents.
Lions 😂😂😂
The Lions have played one game, and they are still the Detroit Lions. Don't bet the farm.
Minnesota is the team that we thought they where . Turn the ball over 4 TIMES !!!
COACH GREEN❤
I love the NFL season Back 23 let's Get 400M views. Amen
Can’t blame cousins for the L. He did everything to keep this game close.
With another fumble early in the third quarter?
Cousins has the most pass yards and touchdowns in the league. Even with the fumbles he is playing at an elite level
And his recurrent mistakes prepare the defeat. The Vikings trail game after game. They never dominate an opponent. I want to see an impressive win.
Camryn Bynum should be a pro bowler 😳
As a Lions fan it’s good to see both Hockinson and swift looking good on both teams for real.
Eagles 🦅 Great win Run Game 💯
