My mom had an experience sort of like what Bear had experienced with the avalanche where she (an asthmatic person) was out of breath while hiking but decided to keep going because she had gotten a bad feeling in her stomach that told her not to stop, and when they got to the top of the hill that they were walking up and looked back at where they had been a bear and her cubs were crossing the trail. It taught both her and us (when she told us this story) a valuable lesson about trusting your gut.
