i met a very succesful man a few weeks ago, he was lecturing us about business. one person asked him the best book about business. his response was that the best book for succes in life is the new testament.

That's true but the so-called 'new testament' is not a book. The Holy Bible is one complete, continuous book; and most principles leading to financial success are to be found in the so-called 'old testament', Tenakh or Jewish Bible, which is why Jewish people, who believe and follow only this part of the Bible, have had so much success financially.
Let's give credit where credit is due; and not risk offending those of G-d's chosen people who have not yet come to know their Messiah. God's word does not compete with itself.
I am a Christian. Jesus was the Son of God so he would have loved his Father's story in the Old Testament. It is a continuum.

Ohhh, boy! I just LOOOVE Rabbi Lapin! I am a Gentile believer in Yeshua (though I have reason to believe I am descended from the Ashkenazi Jews in Germany about 400 years ago). Lord taught me about d commandments several years ago.At the time i thought it was just out of obedience.Now I Know without a doubt that after I started to do them,I experienced total blessing,God answered my prayers,i felt the Holy Spirit more and more often and I even hear God talk to me when he desires to do so.I am truly blessed n I know it is because of the 10 commandments.Read KJV most all other Bibles have been tainted and word "commandment" is changed to" washing your clothes"or robes".

No one killed Jesus. He laid down his life for the sins of everyone.
That interpretation takes the blame for His death from the Romans and the Jews once we understand that Jesus was actually in charge all of the time.

He didn't resist, Jesus offered his life, in obedience to God the Father. It is one thing to offer your life, it is another thing for someone to take your life. Jesus offered his life and at the persistent pressure of the Jewish religious leaders from the synagogue. His life was taken by crucifixion at the hands of the Roman authority, but Jesus's execution, was at the encouragement of the Jewish religious leaders and as a resultwishes of the Jewish people that formed that crowd in Jerusalem, that day; that were calling for his death. Jesus himself said those that handed him over to the Romans, to be executed, were guilty of the greater sin(paraphrased). Because Jewish law did not allow them to execute Jesus; they sought to persuade and pressure the Roman authority in Israel at that time to have Jesus executed; which they succeeded at. So, it was the High Priest and most of the Jewish religious leaders that wanted Jesus killed and used the Roman authority; that they persuaded to do their bidding, as the executioner. The Roman authority was very reluctant to execute Jesus, but we're finally persuaded to proceed with the possibility of having Jesus executed and even washed their hands of it and instead allowed the people to decide between a murderer Barrabus or Jesus; who if the 2 would be released and the people decided and the Romans would carry out the will of the people and release the person they wanted released and execute the other person. Who do you think made up all or most of the crowd in Jerusalem that were calling for the death of Jesus and the release of Barrabus? Of course, it was Jewish people and who was it that said of Jesus; let his blood be upon us and our children forever (in other words, though all generations), cursing themselves and their future generations with the guilt of calling for the killing/ execution of the the only sinless, righteous, guiltless, and complely innocent of any and all crimes person; that ever existed, again it was Jewish people. They cursed themselves and then wonder why there have been incidents of Jewish persecution; which seemingly indicate that they may be under a curse that their ancestors put them under. I don't know for certain what exactly is the cause or causes of Jewish persecution throughout history from the time of the murder of Jesus; until present day...it may be the aforementioned curse that their ancestors present in the crowd calling for or agreeing with the call for the killing of Jesus and cursing themselves and future generations of Jewish people, by saying, let his blood be upon us and our children forever. Was it that self inflicted curse and/or one or more other causes that there have been, for Jewish persecution from that time; until today? By the way, I don't think that an ancestor should have either the right or ability to curse future generations; that, it seems to me, is unfair to future generations. On the other hand, we see in the old testament that Jacob; later renamed Israel, blessed his 12 sons; before he died and from reading that, it seemed that he was not only blessing the twelve sons themselves, but also all future generations that would come through those 12 sons, into the future. So, if it is possible to bless future generations, perhaps, it is also possible to curse future generations, but it seems very unfair for future generations to have to live with a curse; when they have not done anything deserving of a curse because they haven't even been born yet and therefore have not done anything worthy of a curse. It says elsewhere in Scripture, that an undeserved curse has no effect(paraphrased). All of this can be found in the old and new testaments of the Bible and is easily searched, by entering a few key words into a search engine.

I am a Christian and I don't blame the Jews for death of Jesus.
He was handed over to the Gentiles. The Scripture was fulfilled. I believe he was resurrected and the sins were taken away from the people.

May I suggest you watch and listen to Claude Lanzman's monumental film, Shoah. In a scene when Lanzman speaks to a gathering of Polish farmers as they leave a Sunday morning RC church service. This turns out to be a seminal moment, for when a Polish farmer pushes forward among the throng to answer Lanzman's questions on the Nazi genocide of Polish Jewry, he blurts out the words, "But they [Jews] did kill Jesus Christ"

I'm only 13 minutes in... this guy is hilarious! I am almost done with my new years resolution to read the Bible from front to back for first time and because of it, I'm actually able to get some of the religious humor. Otherwise I would think he was just being snarky. Such an intelligent man with an equally intelligent sense of humor. Not to be rude, but I didn't think Jews were this cool and fun. It's my opinion the the slang term "to jew someone" isn't a suggestion to dishonesty or misrepresentation but rather there is an expectation to get a better deal than what is offered. I personally see that as a good trait, no one should just accept anything as it is, YOU have the ability to consent to a contract or suggest alternatives before consenting or to seek a free market solution. Just because a price was suggested on an object or agreement doesn't necessarily reflect the final contract. Oh no they might say no. If you don't ask, your less likely to receive.

my Question is an age-old debate, regarding the sabbath, is the sabath still in effect especially for the gentiles after the apostle age came the church age the so-called early fathers. did they introduce Sunday to sperate themselves from the jews at that age and time, some today we Gentiles are grafted in with the jews so we must observe Saturday not Sunday. what is the truth based on the word not the traditions of men. jeff

please Rabbi i have an issue bugging me for so long...in the new testament i see nowhere Jesus paying tithe neither disciples nor early Christians..In the new testament Paul is asking the converted to give generously but i don't see him teaching them to pay tithe..i feel paying tithe was a Jewish tradition and a form of tax levy to cater for Levites since they had no inheritance and they were supposed to be purely on priesthood...i dont think its an obligation to christian the same way burnt offerings is not an obligation...today's church teach that if you dont tithe you will be poor yet i see many people not going to church and are very rich...whats your point on this
It may be noted that Abraham gave a tithe of all to Melchizedek, the priest of God (Gen 14:18-20). This was before the law came, before the Levites came.
Although the Bible doesn't specifically talk of Jesus tithing, to my knowledge, I would reasonably assume He did tithe because He did not fault in a single part of the law. He was sinless, and did not break a single requirement of the law.
About what makes people wealthy, I trust Rabbi with this topic.
There is one way to find out. Do what the Bible says to do and see if you get the results that the Bible says we will get. It is true there is an old and a new covenant. The new covenant is a better covenant based on better promises. Still we have to do our part and then we can be sure God will do His part of the covenant.

I think we need to send the money first and let the Rabbis sum it up for us. This adds is a great moneymaker. I do not think we can live without our Jewish friends. We can surely learn from them.

Correction. Christians do not blame Jews for killing Jesus. They actually argue that Jesus was sent to earth for that very purpose; to give His life for the sins of humans. The persecution of Jews comes from the Catholic Church; calling itself "Christian." It is actually Catholic, not Christian.

I love Jews but I don’t want to feel spiritually and culturally inferior because I’m not Jewish. Sometimes I think Jews present themselves as superior to Christians. I got online scammed by a half jewish guy name Ivan Limo.
He had advertized stupid coffee vending machines that he had promised and guaranteed will make $1800.00 /month and wanted $7500.00 for each machine.
I had purchased 6 of them investing $39000.00 dollars of my lifetime savings and he and the company had started being passive as soon as the payment was wire transferred to their account.
I had so much of problem getting the machines delivered to where I live because they had delayed the delivery twice and the trainer guy, who knows where he flew in, had provided such a poor orientation and had created such a mess opening all those boxes.
I am asking Father God to restore my finances 7 fold because I didn't want to be scammed.

Parimala Turaga, in India apart from big cities, rich, middle class and the averages who still have access to education or skills without daily obstacles to survive. There are several poor, diseased rejected class or caste and minorities are huge in number. And several NGO n aids are still increasing shows that they need help. On One side India is mighty on the other it's a pity that most of us ignore and blame gov. Or religious or caste system or corruption. This comes from an Indian n I worked with several communities n NGO aswell. Reality is the fact to be addressed. None ofthe foreign aids and camps are not aimed for Bangalore, Bombay, Delhi, Hyderabad or Chennai.

Being rich, millionaire or billionaire is NOT for everyone because the earth does not have enough supplies to all the rich ppl. Additionally, satain is behind of all greed temptation. Proverbs said to be CONTENT with whatever God gives us. It is a no winning situation we are tempted by the beauty of this world but we cannot fall for it because we can lose our souls. Running after wealth is a waste of time to poor ppl.

I've always thought it amazing, intuitive, and endearing how G-d uses illustrations, types, and shadows to communicate with us. Truly, He is the ultimate communicator. As for "the Jews killing Yeshua," consider this: Spiritually speaking, there are only 2 types of people in this world, Jews, and Gentiles. Yeshua died not only for the Jews, which he very well could have but for the Gentiles as well. Just as the Jewish leadership represented ALL Jews in the crucifixion story, so too do the ROMANS represent ALL Gentile peoples. Both Jew AND Gentile were instrumental in the crucifixion. Remove either one and the crucifixion would not have happened. So ALL of mankind, both Jew and Gentile, are complicit in Yeshua's death, just as G-d planned it. JA

There are two types of judgments that God operates or dispensed in the earth among people. On one hand, the purpose of God's judgment on His people who represents Him in the earth is designed to yield for the peaceable fruits of righteousness according to Hebrews 12:11
On the other hand, the purpose of God's judgment on people who don't believe His word and does not represent Him in the earth is designed to condemn. For example, John 3:18 says:
He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. In Ezekiel 16:46-49 it shows how God's people Israel and Judah particularly were More Wicked than Samaria and Sodom. Now Samaria was north of the Nation Judah and they represented the Nation of Israel. Sodom was south of Judah and Jerusalem and practiced the law of sodomy or homosexuality because the government legislated the practice into their law books. Moreover, Ezekiel 16:46-49 says:
Your elder sister is Samaria, who dwells with her daughters to the north of you; and your younger sister, who dwells to the south of you, is Sodom and her daughters. You did not walk in their ways nor act according to their abominations; but, as if that were too little, you became more corrupt than they in all your ways.“As I live,” says the Lord God, “neither your sister Sodom nor her daughters have done as you and your daughters have done. Look, this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom: She and her daughter had pride, fullness of food, and abundance of idleness; neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. Now the people of Judah were God's people representing God on the earth as a Nation. However, the indictments against Judah were worse than Sodom because Judah had a covenant relationship with God which meant that God had to judge His people however God did not condemn His people like He did Sodom although Judah like the church today has lost sight of God.
America as well as other nations will be judged but God will make a difference between the nations and His church. This is the word for today.
