Add neutralizing agents such as lime (calcium hydroxide), soda ash (sodium carbonate), or caustic soda (sodium hydroxide) to raise the pH. The exact amount needed will depend on the acidity of the water.
After that Use buffering agents to stabilize the pH. This can help prevent sudden drops in pH, which can be harmful to the treatment process. Buffers like sodium bicarbonate can be effective.
