Doing it isn't the issue. The issue is when you run ads during it, and you are getting paid to watch it, and the original creators don't get paid.

I feel that it is a little weird that toast poki and hasan catch bans, but xqc the king of this meta, mizkif, rich cambell and dozens if not hundreds of smaller streamers have been doing this for a long time and just now twitch is pretending they care? I think DJ Wheat is a little hypocritical, considering his position at twitch, they've let it happen for so long. But they're neither being fair or equitable with their bans, some get 48 hour some get 7 days, toast just got 30. (though I was hearing he went live on facebook right after he was banned, which I believe is a violation of his contract.
Valkyrae is wrong about one thing though, they will ban him permanantly if they have a reason to, they drop kicked dr disrespect to the moon for no apparant reason.

Bans are done when the company that owns the show strikes the person watching it.
Toast got banned for death note not Naruto, so the owners of death note cared enough and found he watched it so they got twitch to ban him.
It all depends on if the company that owns the content actually complains, it's not fully automated.

Think that’s why toast did it. To make the dmca rules more strict. These top streamers were just watching shows, meanwhile so many smaller streamers out here watching movies and playing hours of dmca music

The things is people are partnered and they’re expected to do better but hasan and xqc are brand risk and not partnered they make their money via sponsors subs and donos if they get in trouble they get thrown under the bus by twitch if poki or toast do twitch gets In trouble

@@Perdido0 Well, that's even more to the point, they should have no issue banning hasan and x then since they aren't partners, and twitch can still get DMCA requests for them just like partners can. also why the HUGE disparity in the bans between poki and toast?

Probably not. He did say he was going on break for a few weeks to visit his family. So I’m guessing that’s what he’s going to do.

The fact they aren't taking this banning thing and copyright strike thing seriously is irritating... keep pushing these boundries and companies are going to change the way they think about content creators. But these guys have no forethought whatsoever... the big streamers are only going to get a slap on the wrist, but the smaller ones? They are gonna get permanent banned. Do they also not realize the only reason why they can stream games is because the companies allow them to?

That’s where you are wrong, smaller streamers have been doing this for a long time now, whereas whenever it’s a bigger streamer they get banned

Like its good to build community but like doesn't discord have a setup where you can do movie nights with people or smth like have the connection building fun w ur community and all without trying to make $$$ off it yall it shouldn't be that hard to play the long game, have fun and build connections without ripping off copywritt stuff

Idk why nobody is talking about why it's happening. But either way, the argument Rae gave only makes these streamers look even more selfish. If the platform gets taken down because of every time a streamer or group of popular streamers play with fire, all of the smaller streamers who are still growing and just barely making a living off of the platform, will suffer greatly. It's not as easy as simply moving to another platform for them, they are legitimately just gonna lose their livelihood. It just does a lot more harm than good.

Did Toast get banned for streaming Naruto or because he was exposing innocent children to the dubbed version?
