Do You Hear the People Sing

- This is a live performance from the conclusion of the 10th Anniversary Concert for "Les Miserables." There are subtitles hardcoded into this video, which means you don't have to turn them on, and you can't turn them off. I put them in so more people around the world could understand what was being sung.
It begins with the conclusion of the performance itself, and something which began only with the first English language performances, is an encore performance at the conclusion of the cast performing the song, "Do You Hear the People Sing." Here you have the cast that performed the musical on the stage, as well as hundreds from performances all across the world, gathered together at this anniversary celebration. What it leaves you with is an astounding and glorious, and powerful performance of this song, with so much energy in it.
I followed it up with the section where they brought together 17 different men who have played the Jean Valjean character in different countries around the world. I have the subtitles there as well for each of the languages from each of the different countries, and it lets you hear beautiful, strong tenors in all the different cultures and languages. The languages represented include English, French, German, Japanese, Hungarian, Swedish, Polish, Dutch, Norwegian, Czech, Danish, and Icelandic.
And the finale of the Jean Valjean characters, when they are joined with all of the cast is just so powerful, just so full that it's hard to even imagine what it was like in person.
The editing isn't perfect, as I had to find different videos of the performance and try to time them perfectly, and seamlessly, including the audio itself. You may notice the "hiccup," in the brief moment as the video is switched from one performance to another, and then another.
I hope you enjoy it!
My Christmas Festive Season Has Lifted Hearing This Amazing Song 🎵 🙌 ❤️
' To Love Another Person Is To See The Face Of God ' ❤
“To love another person is to see the face of god”
I’m not even religious but I love that quote
I've been watching a 100 versions of this song for nigh 20 years.. cry everytime.
Im not into musicals at all, but Les Mis was epic when I saw it live. Would easily go watch it again.
Thank you Cory Kent on behalf of many silent readers and listeners of such beautiful performance which means so much to Music and Freedom lovers ... ALMO 🙏
The Austrian guy really made an impact and I respect him.
What a fantastic arrangement and still so actual. I wish we could gather all statesmen and women together and tell them that most people want peace NOT war! ❤😊
Fabulous performance of a fabulous song. Les Miserables is an incredibly stunning musical. I saw it twice and would go again if it is performed again locally.
35 years ago, exactly, I heard MASTER OF THE HOUSE at my aunt and uncle's house. It was the first song from this show I ever heard. No word of a lie, my mind was blown. Pretty soon after that, my dad started playing the full album, and I just could not believe my ears. One year later, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the national tour in Providence. Now, 35 years on, I still say it's one of the best musicals ever written. Fun fact, the master of suspense Alfred Hitchcock said once that the story of Les Miserables would make a great musical. Talk about predictions!
"Forgive me all my trespasses and take me to Your Glory."
Let those be my final words too.
What a beautiful piece. Thank you, for uploading something that I was searching for.
gtran7 I'm so glad you found me :)
So loved the film and again in the theatre at Sunderland, The best show ever.
Les Mis, it transcends to so many emotions, its so powerful.personally love this, it speaks to all languages and emotions , just love it so much, heart goes.
I am blessed to have seen this marvel five times from 1995 to 2018 and look forward to seeing it again - do you hear the people sing?!
Beautiful!! Saw the musical twice and can never get enough.
ME TOO! I live in Buffalo NY and Les Mis is coming here in the spring of 2024 and my son is DYING to go see it! We have to sit in the handicap seats because I’m in a wheelchair so the tickets are going to be pretty expensive but I DON’T CARE! ❤️
I’ve watched this several times and can’t just hold my tears.
Excellent - could not be better. Deserve divulgation all over the world
Hard to see how there will ever be a musical that could compete with this marvel.
Two Disney princesses on that stage; Lea Salonga (Mulan) as Eponine and Judy Kuhn (Pocahontas) as Cosette.
What the hell!? Their voice is beyond amazing
What a beautiful way to end my day of Services on Sunday.
Davilyn Eversz Today has been a day of Service for me on the Blue Ray. More so than in a long time :)

Thank you brother. I'm moving my music to a new channel, devoted to the music, and not just my personal channel...in case you're interested.
Essa Fantine tem uma voz inacreditável
Those two little kids at the end standing with all the nicely dressed men and they just look out of place its cool that they got to stand up front
???
go lea pinoy pride
Just superb music from Australia
This would been especially epic if the audience had spontaneously joined in.
I've seen les mes 3 times and will always remember each performance
Absolutely fabulous, brilliant show inspired from a great book by Victor Hugo. Yes I know the music is universal and speaks to all languages, but do you think the producers could have featured a version in Italian, which happens to be the most musical language there is and Italy is the home of classical music. I suppose they would have given preference to click-clack, Chinese and Tagalog languages before Italian if they had more time. At least in Italian the song wouldn't resemblance a Hitler youth rally.
こんにちは、またいつか世界が平和になったらこんな舞台が見られると良いなと思います。
それは私の毎日の祈りでもあります。 コメントありがとうございます。
Japan and Ireland gets my votes!
I did not know that Chairman Kaga of iron chef japan was an opera singer
I thought the same thing
Chairman Kaga previously belonged to the top Japanese musical theater company.
Currently he is a famous actor in Japan who appears in musical stages, TV dramas, movie, etc.
It's not opera tho
@@collin3987 I'd say it's close enough. It's completely sung-through, and although the score has as much pop and rock as it does classical and music hall among its many influences, opera singers have often been cast in many of these roles and tend to do very well in them. I wouldn't be at all surprised if it one day entered the opera repertoire officially, like Show Boat, A Little Night Music, The Pirates of Penzance, The Most Happy Fella, and Sweeney Todd all have done.
Until now im watching this
Who else is here December 2021? To await for the world to burn once again

How about assembling on the street in front of the White House. I suspect the message would be lost on the guy inside.
I thi k we all should do it no Matter where cause the people all around the world should sing that so our goverments get scared
Yo I don't live in the US anymore but if I did I'd be with you
This guy predicted it a year ago
This July 14th is going to be liiiiiit brother
There is actually a video with this song being played in a Trump rally.
When the Irish guy started singing, he should’ve just glared at the British guy the entire time.
Can't really argue that LOL, or perhaps looked at him with a cocky, confident knowing he was the better of the two.
🤣🤣🤣🇺🇸🇮🇪🇬🇧
6:10 song name? please :(
This is just a bridge from the soundtrack, pulled from a part of the soundtrack, to play as the various Jean Valjeans from 17 different places where Les Miserables was performed. It's not its own song, per se.
O
💗🛸👽♎🌈😎🥰.
What version of the great populist musical is this? Godwashing?
oooohhh, brilliant cynicism! You must be a bard? (just salivating for your upcoming "oeuvre d'art" ! )
I can just hear Frasier Crane skewering this comment the same way he skewered Derek Mann on his radio show (if you know, you know!)
Sorry. The words are ridiculous. The French original songs of Fantine are the best. You can feel all the sadness. It's a tragic moment for her.
Rose Laurens is the original French singer. Listen to ; l'air de la misère and j'avais rêvé d'une atre vie.🙋♀️🇨🇵
