A few months ago I put up a poll if I should get a new Traxxas HOSS or a new Arrma Big Rock for the channel. The Arrma won by a landslide, so here it is! I think it was the right choice. First Run starts at 5:38. Hundreds less and just as fun. Faster and more stable, but it won't ollie. haha. Get an ARRMA RC or RC Parts - amzn.to/2U390XD
I just got back into Rcing after a 20 year break. I used to run only nitro and my 2 favorites were the original T-max .15 and the Revo which I bought right when it was released. Unfortunately/Fortunately my career started and I only got to play with my Revo for a few months. I was bored about 2 months ago and on amazon (bad idea). I saw an offbrand electric buggy boasting of 50+mph speeds for only $130 so I bought it and I am hooked again. The buggy is insanely fast and especially for the price. At that point, I wanted a new truck to bash and jump with. I was looking through the Traxxas lineup and saw the new E-Revo 2.0 VXL and fell in love. When I got the truck, I was expecting something the size of my original T-max/Revo since they are all 1/10th scale. I was not expecting a 1/8th scale truck. The thing is absolutely amazing to drive but is to big for out front of my house which is what I really wanted it for. So now I am looking for something around the size of the original t-max/revo. I love the look of this truck and it seems to be built well. Since pictures can be misleading, is this truck more comparable size wise to the older 1/10th scale trucks?
My mesh was super tight and rear shocks were installed facing the wrong way. I love my first Arrma coming from 5 Redcats. I brought this mainly because its a $300 range RC that can go 50+mph while some Arrmas need 6S to get to 50+. I went at least 65mph on 6S and never made it to max throttle. Enjoy and thanks for sharing.👍😁
My mesh seems spot on. Got a good assembly on min it seems. But I was a bit concerned. That’s all human error inconsistencies. Glad you like your big rock.
@@cwatson42785 Blue loctite should come off fine without heat and will definitely beat losing a wheel and/or screw mid-bash session. Thank you for saying something about the ic5 plug not being used. I was worried b/c my big rock is coming tomorrow, and I don't have an ic5 battery. I watched a few videos trying to hear someone address it.
It’s subjective based on your driving preference. Granite is shorter wheelbase and so it’s more prone to wheelies and flips. Big rock is more stable but you can also flip it in air easily.
@@netcruzer I'm talking in terms of speed the motor, suspension ,longevity overall best bang for the buck they are very similar in price. And next couple weeks I'm picking one up for my 14 year old. We will now have a outcast 4s, Granite v3my 9 year olds soon to have max 10 3200kv. I'll order some avid bearings to replace the bad stock motor bearings.
I already own a granite 4x4. Granite is a bit more stunty with shorter chassis and taller stance. New Big rock 3S feels like a smaller tire kraton 4S to me. I like it.
The Arrma 4s series is not as durable as the 3s and 6s series. That means I'd actually prefer a 3s granite over a 4s kraton. Oh and in terms of granite vs big rock - the granite is great at pulling wheelies and stunts in the air while the Big Rock crew cab is a little bit more stable (less wheelies) because it has a longer chassis
I'd wait for the 4s so you can at lease compare all the revisions to thier product line before you buy. The big rock is a cool platform. But it does have some weak points and those weak points can turn into problems( at lease for me they did). However, with a few upgrades it can easily become a beast.
Hey great video. I love mine but having troubles with reverse. Can anyone help? Sometimes I can get it to work and then it takes off full speed in reverse, most of the time it won't reverse when I want it to. Wondering if I'm just doing something wrong or maybe it's my unit or controller?
