When Simon Cowell is in the jury, the professional entertainers are not allowed to win the respective "got talent show". They qualify and at the first round after the auditions they stop their participation. But where Simon Cowell is missing the winners are "Oh, you are the wife of Mr. XYZ!!!" And voilla - the winner already is known. How can the wife of Mr. XYZ not win, right? And it doesn't matter if she can sing or she cannot sing - she is a PROFESSIONAL - and the idea of the show is not to find the best professional singer (or dancer or whatever), but the best amateur. Nuff said.
